being a good guitarist doesnt mean you have to play 1000mph. look at david gilmour for example. he puts so much emotion and skill in his solos. even though there not super fast. it all depends on what type of guitarist you are. i myself as a guitarist prefer to play things with more melody and emotion. and i think a toddler banging on drums sounds better than the whole thrash metal thing.

Speed isn't always everything. People don't even have time to enjoy the notes 'cause it's played with too much rush. He has insane skills, but in imo I think he should focus now more on the feel. I know someday he will do this but now this is kinda flat solo. But keep up the good work :)

There is nothing wrong with playing fast but if you can be a little more creative with it i think it would help the overall sound 110% Try to blend the scales together and make them flow as you play. The overall product should in theory make the person listening feel like they have just been told a story and evoke a certain feeling or emotion!

This was a great video! yes it was fast and there wasn't much emotion in it but it was for a talent show. Anyone who plays guitar at a talent show isn't going to win if they just play some slow melodical song... you have to pull out all the tricks... people who can't play the guitar always just want to see the crazy stuff they don't care about emotion... I think the kid was great! His skill alone shows his dedication and passion for playing... keep it up dude ROCK ON!!!
