  • Hi I'm 14... no scratch that, I'm an unborn baby fetus of one month old and canz benchz prezz 405 pounds eazily.

  • great scene

  • NO BRUCEY NOOOOOOO! NOT THE SUICIDE GRIP!!!!

  • For god'sa sake do none of you understand the freedom of cinema?. The guy is a superhero, he survived a traincrash that killed every single person on board and he left without a scratch. The point of the benchpress scenes is to show the audience that this guy, without any proper training or serious upper body strength, can lift an incredible weight.

I guess the Batman films are completely unbelieavable 'cause Batman breaks the speed limit in the batmobile?. Open your damn eyes.

  • you can notice that some of the people here havn't seen the movie, if you see the movie you can understand a bit easier why he can benchpress with that grip and why he can lift so much.

  • @Nikilwig Mine is 12 inches.

  • i watch this movie every time it comes on tv. sometimes they show this scene, sometimes they don't. i don't get it. love it though

  • God this movie is fucking awesome...

I read this was supposed to be the first movie in a trilogy. Man I wish they would have made the other two parts...

  • from some of the comments you can tell that many commenting haven't seen this movie.

  • suicide grip!

  • why would he do that in front of everybody? show off

  • Bench with a ring and not wrapping your thumb around the bar??? Sorry brucy... Youl die like that.

  • @MrJesusaves777 Not if you're...

    *puts on sunglasses*

    ...Unbreakable.

  • Fakest fucking Hollywood weights I've never believed in my life.

  • 4.30 thats what happens every time i work out too

  • Calling it a deleted scene gets you to watch it: SUCKERS

  • noones benching 500lbs with that grip

  • haha suicide grip 495...he looks like he could bench 225 for reps on a good day.

  • Comment removed

  • i liked the bench press scene with his kid better, his kid was working him like a horse it was funny.

  • RERACK YOUR WEIGHTS!

  • I don't get some of you people. You have to put down others just because they can't rep their body weight (or more than that) 10 times? Who cares? Encouragement would be in order there, not a put-down. I never work out and I can bench my weight, but that's not the point. I wouldn't actually go to the gym everyday on my own accord. Football does absolutely nothing for me either, imagine that.

  • @whoohaaXL

you forget this is youtube where every guy has a 10 inch penis, benches 405 for reps, and throws a 90mph fastball.

  • @Nikilwig....9 inches, 290 and I can only trow it at 70...but its got a hell of slide to it :))

  • This was in the movie, not deleted??

  • @hagenissepuler Um, no, it's not in the movie...?

  • someone put in one of the videos that the weights are made of foam well i have a decades experience or more in weightlifting and when you see him actually lifting the weights those are not foam or rubber or plastic i can tell iron when i see it. unless they performed some movie magic where its something else lifting the weights or somebody else its real

  • @wizardmeditation its metal around foam.

  • I wish they had used this in the movie rather then the scene with the son,it would have added to the oh shit my dad is a super hero factor in the end when he shows his son how he saved those people.

  • @Baird9214

This scene should come after the bench press scene with his son. So that he can proof to himself that this was no fortune

  • @thenstyle1 That would be interesting too, since the scene with his son he benched about 300 pounds to jumping up to 500 would show him that he was even stronger then he thought.

  • @thenstyle1 Thats true but I believe its because he wanted to show what he can acually bench rather then fantasy.

  • Lol nice suicide grip (I HOPE someone who lifts actually knows what that is)

  • @KKZReset11

He don't need to care about the suicide grip because he is unbreakable ;)

  • The best part is when he sits back up and the players and training staff are like, "WTF?!"

  • I can't believe you all are arguing about the mechanics of weight lifting!!! It's a fucking movie!!! AHHHH!!!

  • @adrummer85 True.., it is a movie and not real life.., but I will say, on that last lift, it sounded like he filled his shorts! HAHAHAHAHAHA....

  • wow what a pussy i can curl that fucking wimpy ass actors

  • @cheesealtar no one gives a shit.

  • He's holding his thumbs wrong, THAT IS NOT SAFE

  • @omglolbbqftw thats a suicide grip. a lot of bodybuilders prefer this grip because it feels more effective on the chest

  • @omglolbbqftw He's a superhero. It'll be alright.

  • @omglolbbqftw

He's *unbreakable*, so for him, it is :D

  • LMAO!1!!!!1!5PLATE!11!

  • no spotter brah?

  • COME ON BRUCE GET SOME CLASS, PUT THE WEIGHTS BACK

  • LMAO!! 5 PLATE!!1!

  • LMAO 5 plate!!1!

  • At the end = U mirin?

  • jesus fuck bruce why do you move like you're surrounded by jelly

  • suicide grip....

  • there always has to be a some douche bag hip hop guy at the very end of it blurting out "whateva he's takin I got sta get me some of that!" like it's a fucking drug or like it's not a pure natural talent or gift.... jealous assholes are always belittling the extraordinary.

  • Very powerful scene. Should've been in the movie.

  • I'm glad they cut this scene. The movie is so effective to me because the audience doesn't know for sure whether this man is indeed "superhuman" or just comes to believe that he is. This scene would be too over-the-top.

  • This is ok I guess. Im 15 and bench 350.

  • @thebigrussian lay off the steroids and grow a brain, no one's impressed that you're a meat head this early.. by the time you're 21 you'll have severe joint problems, traumatic spine disk injury, torn shoulder ligaments, and no education.... which will lead to unemployment, pain killer addiction, self loathing, depression, alcoholism and then suicide.... have fun focusing all your time and energy on lifting heavy shit.

  • @mamakunem lol u mad bro? dont be jealous

  • @thebigrussian im 11 and bench 405, you suck

  • @hulkhoganwwf

im still in my mommas utereus and i can deadlift 9000 pounds

  • @BrainStorm88 arnold never benched more than 4 plates.....

  • bruce willis could not even lift 2 plates for reps

  • They Re insert This Seen When Its Run On G4 For Runtime Resons

  • He shouldn't but collars on when he is benching a lot alone.... He deserves to drop that shit

  • Awesome

  • They shouldn't have cut this scene, but anyway it doesn't seem as he didn't know he wasbeing filmed. The music, the expression of the face, the camera shoots...and it is 220 kgr...can he really push it?

  • @egomono1 It was a joke. As if he just benches 500lbs everyday, or just did it on the set for kicks. It was a blatent filming.

  • They shouldn't have cut this scene, but anyway it doesn't seem as he didn't know he wasbeing filmed. The music, the expression of the face, the camera shoots...

  • Those players were looking at him as if he was chuck norris

  • @KennyG881 Chuck Norris *wishes* he was David Dunn.

  • every1 wishes their were that strong...

  • calm down ppl ths aint real, lol

  • Comment removed

  • 5 wheels, thumbless grip, no spotter......yikes.

  • the black guys where all like "damn that niggas crazy!"

  • suicide grip?

  • 495 lbs. not bad, willis.

  • @mizsoutiger those kinds of clamps usually weigh 5 pounds each so that's most likely about 505. :)

  • @biscuitmancollin noh rofl about 2 pounds .5

  • @khav11 the ones where i workout are 5 pounds each. they do look a little bigger than those do though.

  • That's shitty for a superhero, Batman can bench press 800 lbs

  • @crashburnerz really?

  • lol at end "what ever he got I need some of it" rofl

  • I just like listening to all the football players afterward:

    "Sheet!"

"Yo, B, he stronga than you, dawg!"

"Whatever he got, I need some of it!"

  • Lol at people saying it's not that much. It's way beyond what most serious lifters can do RAW plus he wasn't near his max he may be able to do 3000lbs, the point is his strength may be limitless like superman only when he needs it or "calls" upon it.

  • @Gales99 He benches 350 later

  • bar is 45 lbs, and the rings that keep the plats from sliding are 2.5 lbs a piece, it equals 500 lbs

  • 495 lbs. is beast but I bet he can only do one cock pushup.

  • @ydabom I guess one is all you need.

  • @mrdrewski101 You're a weak pussy. You weigh 194 lbs and can only bench your own weight twice? Fuckin pussy.

  • @mrdrewski101 I hate to tell you this but that is not so much. At the end of my Sr year of highschool i could bench 400 pounds. And i am 6.5 and i weigh 240.

  • Bench Pressing while wearing a ring on your finger.

    OUCH!!!!

  • @celeboria He's unbreakable ;D. That he does not care.

  • @celeboria

And with that grip, and with none to watch over him....But he is unbreakable and he doesn't feel pain :P

  • @celeboria I do that and it doesn't bother me in the slightest

  • @celeboria he is superman don`t forget!

  • @celeboria how is that ouch? all the weight is in the palms... lol.. sigh.

  • @celeboria you probbably doesnt even know how to bench

  • @omfglol99n00b

First of all, the correct grammar for your sentence is:

"You probably don´t even know how to bench."

    Now, having said that;

I do know so very well, & I find it uncomfortable & inhibiting from granting me a secure grip.

    Most importantly:

If you knew about curling, bench pressing or any kind of bodybuilding exercise, you should know that some people don´t find it inhibiting and don´t mind wearing a ring while working out & some do.

  • @omfglol99n00b

So, if you find it necessary to comment like this on a video and on comments in the first place which are for fun and entertainment rather than impollitenes and wisecracking , is that the only thing you have to say or can´t you just enjoy watching the video and keep your arrogance to yourself?

Cool it and enjoy your workout!

  • @celeboria arrogance , why ?

im just saying that benching with ring on doesnt even hurt since the weight rests on his palms , so you either dont know how to bench, or you never benched , and yes sherlock homes

  • @omfglol99n00b

While of course the bar is positioned on the palm of my hand, I do prefer to fully and firmly enclose it with my fingers when doing a rep.

I feel that wearing a ring prohibits me from achieving a stable and well -. controlled grip and I don´t find it comfortable.

I neither intend to make a smartass comment, nor do I claim that the way I workout is the ultimate way.

It is just my experience, my preference and my opinion.

  • I almost like that better then the actual scene they used

  • unless bruce willis is a midget and the bar isn't regulation those are 100 lbs a piece. Not the 45's he was grabbing off the rack. Take a look at the size differential between the ones he is grabbing and placing and compare that to the ones in the final scene.

maybe it is just trick photography

  • @CisMediaGuy

Those are standard 45's. 2 plates plus the bar is 130lbs. 4 plates 220lbs

    6 plates 310lbs 8 plates 400lbs 10 plates 490lbs.

  • @kamikazechaos720 The bar's 45 lbs. and the endcaps are 2.5 each.

  • why did they cut this? its damn near perfect!

  • Comment removed

  • Crazy ass mofo used a suicide grip with 500lbs and no spotter...gotta love him.

  • The funny thing is, Bruce Willis didn't even know he was being filmed when he was doing this!

  • @Googopqp funny thing is thats a lie because he looked directly in the camera at end of this clip... and that weight is something only powerlifters and bodybuilders can bench.. bruce willis is frail compared to bodybuilders

  • @Leeshizzle294 Funny thing is, you can't take a joke :/

  • @Googopqp funny thing is how the hell was that a joke.. oh i get it HAHA HAHA.. -______-

  • @BrainStorm88 still arnold has the muslce for that... david dunn.. well he's an ordinary not so buff looking joe with a hidden superpower... imagine if his charcter started to bulk up.

  • 4:28 LOL personally I didn't see that one coming lol

  • If this would've been left in the final cut of the film, it would've been the third and final rotation scene. For both Bruce Willis' son (when he's watching TV at the beginning of the movie, and through channel surfing comes upon the news report of the wreck his father was in), and then for Elijah (as a child, in the scene where he picks up the comic book his mother left for him on the playground bench) there are camera rotations at their respective "turning points". This would've been Bruce's.

  • awesome scene,,,that shoud've been in the movie,,,,dam!!!! That was great

  • I like the part where all the football players are speechless at what they say. Lol,great scene they should've included this in the original cut imo.

  • They should've shown this

  • lol youtube is arguing about a "superhero" movie

  • @ohhhlethal and your commenting on it! lol!

  • How much is it suppose to be? What is it 10 45 plates plus the bar plus the locks that's around 500 right?

  • @gdogg024 yes, 500 lbs

  • How much is it suppose to be?

  • He is taking the weights off the rack and putting them on the bar. The so-called "solid" plates are 45 lbs as well. He just reverses them so you are seeing the back of the plate. I've seen a lot of people stack the bar with weights that way.

  • Comment removed

  • I know he counts it to 500 but I think its more than that. He takes the 45lbs OFF. and puts on solid plates. I think they are 100lb plates. You can clearly see him remove the ones that say 45. and put on solid metal plates that don't have any weight cut out of it.

  • @raohdy Do you even lift dude? It's 495lbs. 10 plates at 45lbs plus the bar, which is 45lbs. Come on

  • @zodiiak Of course I lift. I know that. He even said 500 in the scene...did you watch the scene? He is removing 45lb plates? Did you not see that? I guess they don't have 100lb plates at your gym. Whatever, I'm just saying the way the scene is shot he is removing a 45lb plate and replacing it. If he's putting 45lb plates on why would he take them off at all?

  • @raohdy Dude, he's taking them off the rack and putting them onto the barbell...he's not removing plates from the Barbell...don't YOU go to a gym?

  • @zodiiak oooh... that makes sense now. Its hard to tell the way its shot. No one re-racks shit at my gym. lol

  • Haha great scene, who wouldn't like to show off like that. Can see why they got rid though.

  • I don't care how much he's lifting, how he's doing it, or how much more somebody can do at home. That's one of the best pieces of eye candy I've seen in a while. Very few men his age can rock a t-shirt and a plain pair of slacks. *slurp*

Thx much for posting. From the ladies. ;)

  • I love this movie its one of my favs. It makes sense in a way, someone could be more than human and live their entire life without knowing it.

  • i heard he takes alot of cell tech and nitro tech, so this does not count. creatine is 1643% stronger then steroids so its cheating. if it wasnt then bruce would be able to compete nationally.

  • wow never knew bruce willis was so strong

  • Pro tip: Don't grip the bar like that when doing bench presses.

  • wrap your thumbs around the bar!!!!

  • @xjager513 Dude that way of lifting is also valid. What's the problem? Many big weightlifters lift like he is>

  • @xjager513 i also noticed that, many weight lifters at my gym dont wrap their thumbs around the bar, they say it helps them.

  • deleted scene? i saw this scene in the movie

  • @devm there are two bench press scenes.. this one.. and the one that was actually in the movie..

  • he forgot to stretch

  • I don't know why this scene was deleted.

Probably something to do with how it provokes all these faggy comments about bench pressing this that and the other.

  • @WhatWhat212 I think it was deleted because it's basically the same scene as the one with his son. Plus, they didn't want to make the movie longer than it already was...

  • "What's he taking? I want that."

  • Some people are really forgetting that, as awesome as this scene is, it's still a piece of fiction.

  • great scene!

  • im assuming this was fake because he does not look like he can bench 500, let alone twice. and anyone who tries benching 500 with a suicide grip is fucking insane

  • @therabidliger Man.. this is a movie omg lol idiot

  • hehe if you listen carfully up to 2 min , you can here the guys in the backgruond are talking in a loop ;) i always here the same guy saying thats what im talking about =) anyway thx for the upload great movie

  • Possibly one of the coolest 'reveals' in movie history...but some of the comments below are right, Shyamalan says it himself on the dvd, the scene with his son made the point already. But still great!

  • Epic Scene.

This should have not been deleted from this awesome movie.

  • why is everyone arguing the guy is like 6 feet tall maybe 190 pounds and he is bench pressing 500 pounds 2 times. That is fucking crazy none of you can even do close to that so shut up and appreciate the scene.

  • It's a cool scene indeed but it's of no use for the story, it sure doesn't have the same impact as the other one with his son.

  • I guess you can't have two bench press scenes in the same movie. This one was good, but the one with the kid was more dramatic, and fed the plotline better.

  • you guys do realize thouse are fake weights right? probably was no more than 100pd on the bar =P

  • whatever he got I need some of it

  • Stop arguing and think!

If he can lift 500 after being mostly sedentary then within a few months, he would probably be benching a car.

  • Bald white guys rock.

    Trust me.

  • I still don't understand why this scene was cut. It's super, top-notch.

  • @ericberner if you ask me I'd say its because this dragged the whole weight lifting thing out too long and kind of killed the magic of the first scene.

  • @ericberner the director said that they already had a scene which showed that he was strong, and having another scene saying this wasn't really needed.

  • Great inspirational benching moment

4:28 - everyone's looking at him like, "holy shit!" lol

  • Love the look on all the players faces afterward. They're like: "Holy shit, man, where can I get some of what he's taking?" XD

  • Apparently, some kid who went to my high school dead lifted 695lbs....O_O

  • If this scene doeesn't get you pumped up to hit the gym and blast some heavy iron, I do not know what will then...this is just beautiful :)

  • its a movie bruce isn't really that strong lol!

  • It's realism based heroics. He doesn't need to pick up a train.

  • Comment removed

  • So he lifts 495 in total? Just curious, what is the world record for bench pressing.

Not seen this film in a while and am a comic book geek, need to watch again.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheRealGrimRainbow

The record i think is more than 1,000 lbs. but the people that lift such weights are most of them really and I mean really big guys (300 lbs. or more) and most of them use special shirts to bench...anyways it is still quite impressive to see someone lifting such huge amounts of resistance.
