Should have been a much bigger band than they were/ are. A great mix of Beatles harmonies and vocals with hard rock punch and guitars. Great idea, great band. Too bad they were pigeon holed with the rest of the hair metal idiots.
Sat here wuth a HUGE grin on my face, with loads of happy memories flooding back. such cool times been had with these dudes playing in the background. thanks for posting the video.
What a under-rated band! They had good catchy songs and in Derek Firgo an awesome guitar player with his own style! Love the vocal harmonies too and Donnie Vie has a vocal style you know it is just him. There is a video on you tube of an oasis video with the song being replaced by new thing. You would think it was oasis if you didn't know. Shows you how timing is everything in music.
Just a great band with great songs . sad that a generation of kids will never get to appreciate this type of music unless someone pushes an 80's/ 90's hard rock revival, or they play mum and dads CD's.
What did ricky parent pass away also??? i haven't kept up with ZNuff since Derek Frigo Passed. Vikki was a glam drummer. and parent did use his moves and drum beats.
What is this I have heard that 'JAKE E LEE' was guitarest for this band at one time? I saw them round 85ish and they put on a great show but It seems I would have noticed LEE!!! But maybe not since that was still a couple years from 'OZZY' AND 'BADLANDS'!
Best Z'nuff moment - convicing my straight edge buddy to smoke his 1st hitter in the porta-john...& when he comes out of the door, Donnie says, "I get fined everytme I say this, but does anyone here get high??" and the crowd went nuts including me. They opened for Blue Oyster Cult in the parking lot of what's now the Allstate Arena in Chi-town
Yeah, another case of a band coming out w/ a great CD at the wrong time. Though Rolling Stone raved about this CD (which made me try it in the first place) the whole forced Seattle scene prevented a ton of good stuff from getting play. I've never liked that about the industry... its not about whats best, but what they want to spend all their time/money marketing.
So true. This song makes me sad because I remember when Strength came out and I thought it was so great. MTV played the videos a few times and went on to grunge. I love Alice In Chains,Pearl Jam,etc.. but wasnt there room for both genres?
You know I've (you know i've) Got a little problem I have to be the one The second guy to none And I've got A pretty little girlfriend Who tells me all the time That she'll be forever mine And she says That your baby loves you Yes your baby loves you When you're baby loves you Nothing's gonna hurt you
Vik Foxx is a badass, and is way too pretty to be a man. These guys set a high bar, that many bands will never be able to match... Its fucked up how good they were
I only saw them live once but I could not believe what an amazing drummer Foxx was. Not just technically proficient but damn entertaining, wailing his arms all over the place, blonde hair flying all around. Despite the antics of Chip, Donnie and Derek, I could barely drag my eyes away from Vik. What a show!
Back in '91, I had just moved back to PA and the very night I roll into town, there is a free concert at the local arena. The original had been cancelled twice so the radio station was putting it on for free. I decided to check it out. Enuff Z'Nuff was the opening act and they were AMAZING. Blew me away. I don't even remember who the headliner was because I walked out after two songs. It wasn't that they were bad, it was just that they could not compete with Donnie, Chip and the boys!!
I agree with everything that has been said. This was one tremendous band. They were great writers...putting out some of the BEST stuff of their time......killer vocals.
I completely agree. I interviewed them once when I worked in radio in the North Chicago burbs - great bunch of guys. I get the feeling that their recording company didn't give them enough backing and advertisement.
i met them in vegas years ago after a show, donnie was a sweet heart. Signed my poster and Chip gave me hug that im still recovering from. Loved them, and they really love their fans. best little forgotten band in the world.
Why these guys werent huge remains a mystery to me.Isaw and partied with them at MISSIPPI NIGHTS In St Louis Chip was cool Vicki was a real diva doochebag.Still love em
