Simon's reaction really makes it obvious that to him (and probably to the rest of us, were we in his shoes) it's the equivalent of looking down when you're high up. It's relatable. I love this genius show. <3

As brilliant as this scene is (and it is BRILLIANT), WHY were the Alliance checking under the place mats? You think the adult siblings you're looking for are under the place mats on the table, Alliance? I know you're being thorough but come on!
the scene where the Mal invites Rivver on board.Ep.14 after they killed the headhunter. Wonderfull moment. The series is full of it! If you do not like it you one of those Star Wars Consumer whores who cliam that EP 1-3 are great.

I find it funny that when Simon looks into space and then to his sister, he lets his head fall down...I think he thought that River was maybe seeing an Alliance cruiser or something like that...and then he feels relieved xD
@FSFMastermind No he is scared of the nothingness, earlier in the episode he said that he found it unnerving that only a pane of glass was protecting you from space.
@Herv3 If there wouldn't be the shitty ending (or the whole season 4) BSG would be much better (well, different). But since they messed up the ending of BSG (they did resolve next to nothing and what they resolved was idiotic. also acting, sfx, directing atc. was bad in the last few episodes) Firefly stands out a lot. Maybe it is a good thing that Firefly was discontinued. This way they didn't have the chance to mess it up.
Yeah I thought the same from season 2-4.0, but 4.5 and especially the very last episode left a stain on the series. Maybe if Firefly lasted 4 plus seasons they would of jumped the shark, but it never got its chance to.
I also put The Twilight Zone up there in the all-time great science fiction shows.
