This music.....haunting, yet beautiful. To me, this is one of the best pieces of music - the downfall of humanity, Jensen's losses.....this makes me feel solemn, and at peace. Just, amazing.
When I walked into the apartment for the 1st time (after giving Megan's mother her daughter's bracelet)...I just said "WOW", all of a sudden I started to imagine the future, and how all of it seemed possible, like to collapse of humanity.Made me appreciate the times we live in. Not many games reall pull at the heartstrings, ESPECIALLY an FPS. Then I started feeling sad when I looked around at Jensen's picture frames, his parents, his dog, Megan...this music is BRILLIANT!!!
Thanks for sharing this music, and thanks to Michael McCann for creating such a beautifully melancholy composition. This game touched my soul like no other game I've ever played, and I was immersed in Jensen's head from the beginning due to my own near-death experience and resurrection with technological augmentations. I'm glad I didn't lose my cats like Jensen lost his poor dog, but I lost my ability to play sports and exercise, so I often feel like a brain in a jar rather than a full human.
When I first saw Jensen's apartment I was immediately reminded of Blade Runner. Especially the part when the window shades opened up revealing the skyline.
I love the little touches in the apartment that tell the story of a man with a troubled mind... the broken mirror, the half-built clock, the empty bowls of cereal littering the place... tells so much more than any voice-over narration or exposition could.
@EarthTremor Did you notice the painkillers stashed behind one of the tables by the window? That was what really hit me the most. The whole apartment says so much about what Adam went through physically and emotionally during those six months.
@mintsauce82 I hacked the computer down in reception and found the email about the new mirror, too. I don't know if the concierge had it in for Jensen or if she thought he'd just break it again.
@EarthTremor Hell yea. Not to mention the painkillers under his desk, half hidden behind a crate. Pill addiction in addition to all his troubles? Or just for unmentioned healing pains?

This music and Jensen's room - heavy reference to Blade Runner. Fuck me man, I'm amazed by how good this game turned out to be.

@EarthTremor When he talks to Taggart, he explains that he punched the mirror when he saw himself for the first time after the operations. *sigh*

@stinger321 Even thinking of that line makes me feel profoundly sad :(. The solemn nature of the music in this level doesn't help at all.
