Is there any chance we could have a populist uprising that would result in a law banning all forms of the word "chase" from all golf commentary forever?

As in: "He's trying to chase that ball up onto the green." (Really? I don't see him running after it.) Or: "He's trying to put a little chase on that ball." (Oh. You mean he's trying to hit a low shot with some roll to it.)

"Chase" may still be used like this: "A dog chased my ball."
