Round Midnight : George Russell Sextet with Eric Dolphy

I am reminded of Eric Dolphy when I hear this. I am so grateful to youtube for allowing people to share their music with me. There were some greats before my time that I never had a chance to hear but had heard legendary stories about them. Now I get a chance to hear them. I have to be careful myself. I have sugar diabetes. It is no joke I can tell you that. Eric died from complications and had a heart attack. I love the tune. I play it myself.

Absolutely fabulous ! Thanks for posting. Have you heard "A Bird in Igor's Yard" by George Russell? His composition of an imagined collaboration between Stravinsky and Bird? They were due to work together before Bird died, Recorded by Buddy de Franco and then withdrawn? I am searching for it.. thanks again.

@valvetrom TradJazz was "past" at 1961. We've already had the "Kind of Blue" at 1959, which was so much inspired by George Russel's work indeed, the "Lydian Chromatic Concept of Tonal Organization". Those were really changing times, eternally remarkable
