Congrats to you johnnydeeps for the best video presentation of this of this spectacular song. It was the one I downloaded and will cherish. Many Thanks.
@sweetswedenvideos "For my concern" IMHO. And "I've turned inward on myself" .. that's what I hear. In the first case it also makes lot more sense to me. (but I'm not native speaker, so I still may be very wrong :))
@sweetswedenvideos The correct lyrics are closer than you think. The video response above by mserin (cover of this song) holds the answer to your question.
@bemjamin Damm straight bemjamin --- I listen to it for hours on repeat. It seems to "haunt" the body & soul--- and I like that very much. Another one, though not as heavy or deep, is "we all fall down" by Sweet Talk Radio. It is from the short-lived series Haven. You can find it here on YT. Look it up.
I like the way you put this video together... I don't like the fact that you stuck in the slips of Bjork. She had nothing to do with this recording. Otherwise, great job.
@williamfeuer I see now, thanks for the info. I looked up Fay - shes a talented singer but it seems this song is unlike her other recorded works. There also seem to be a lot of demand for more of this
Another song, which has the same kind of wistful pathos-type feel to it, and also was from a movie and is now in music publishing limbo, is Keri Latimer's Ray's Echo. Similar mood though very different voice.
if you want to hear (and see) Fay Lovsky siniging something very different, check out the orchestral version of Pat Metheny's First Circle recorded at the North Sea Jazz festival
Every couple years I Google this song and see if any new info has made it up. First time I ever looked into it I got nothing at all. Glad to have come across this. Nice job.
I'm not sure where whoever built the NBK soundtrack came up with the name A.O.S., (Trent?) But when I emailed the producer for Ms Lovsky years ago, I was told that the rights to this song were in limbo, and essentially, no-one had a real, solid studio recording available. Which is a damn shame, because it's a beautiful song.
Actually, there is a punk rock band called A.O.S.. Google "A.O.S. band" their homepage will be the first item. This is, as teak said, Fay Lovsky. Nobody seems to know what to do with this song...iTunes attributed it to Prince when I imported my CD, go figure.
how true. just dont let it mess you up like it did me. i loved you once. it died a long time ago. stupid to think we could get it back. time to move on jon jon.
2 questions does anyone know what A.O.S stands for and do they have any other songs besides the one on the Natural Born Killers soundtrack, did they ever release an album or anything?
didn't know this could get any better, but low & behold, you throw Bjork in there & it's betterrr!!!:::)))

History Repeats Itself
coiling down to the future.
When it's one second to twelve
the hands touch and furrow deeper.
History repeats itself,
I didn't learn, I wouldn't listen.
I couldn't see the books were on the shelf
for my concern I never missed 'em.

Wish I was standing by the shore,
feel the wind blow in my face.
See the waves roll in for an encore
they take a bow, they know their place.
I do not want, I do not feel.
I've turned inward on my self.
I can't find anything that's real,
but history repeats itself.

what's the right lyrics for this?
At 00:53 where lyrics on the internet say: "For my good sense, I've never missed 'em" ... I hear: "For my concern"
At 01:57 there are two different versions of lyrics
one says: "I do not want, I do not feel, I've turned away in myself"
the other: "I do not want, I do not feel, I've inward in myself"
I keep hearing "on myself" & something like "I've done it well on myself"
Any clue?

Why Fay Lovsky and Klaus Buhlert are not credited with their real names?
