  • Thank you very much for this song, I like it so much :)!!

  • Thanks Gary McCormick for spreading the word about a great song/ writer. Great song for this anniversary of the lost lives of CHCh. RIP all. Love from Japan.

  • Sweet ...thanks

  • Such an amazing song! Thank you, Gin :)

  • Gin gives me all the more reasons to be a proud kiwi. :)

  • one tree played like 20 seconds of this ong and i had to find it and i did! love this song ♥

  • Like a female Ray Lamontaine.

  • i was laughing... then I teared up for some reason when this song played. =o

  • she is a good writter

  • I also discovered her with the Lowes commercial. She sound like Amy Winehouse. She has a great voice.

    love her songs

  • i also discover her with the Lowes commercial. She sound like Amy Winehouse. great voice

  • she is beyond what makes people popular... she actually has talent. If you listen, you will learn the difference between good and great... thank you Gin...

  • i love you gin you my favourite cousin!! xox please come and see you family

  • I'm glad someone else like leonard Cohen too.

  • So ashamed to say I discovered this pretty girl with the amazing voice from a Lowe's commercial!!

  • @rebjufit you should be thankful someone put her out there for you to find- they obviously saw great talent too

  • I know thats how I found her too... BUT its cool we found her though?

  • this is a great song, and sadly, If somebody like Adele sang this, it would of already been nominated for the greatest song of all time. Gin has a good voice, it just doesn't fit the song for me (but since she wrote this from a personal experience, and not really for her fans, it's AMAZING)

  • I was expecting this to be a cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. But what I found was something beautiful in its own right,.

  • yeah, I just happen to look at a Lowes commercial and looked her up, lol.

Now I'm addicted to her unusual voice.

  • soooooo deep! =´)

  • shes so good looking

  • One of my favorite artists, ever. I wish more people appreciated her genius! <3

  • love it

  • beautiful song, and its so strange cus her voice sounds so strange, yet its nice......idk whether to like it or not.

  • BIG UP'S to Lowes for introducing this wonderful artist to me all the way in Tampa Fl, 33619!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • She is perfect.

  • I hear it many many hours a day. I play it with my guitar. I sing it in school. I love it ♥ So pretty girl singin' it. I love Gin so much! ♥

  • this songs gives me goosebumps

  • Shes got a really nice voice :)

  • Beautiful

  • Like this comment if the Lowe's commercial got you wanting to hear more of this singer :)

  • This song is made for Steve Jobs.

  • @footballcrazedful nnNNoooope... it isn't!

Gin wrote this for her father... (thankfulness feelings), and evethou we may (in a quite romantic way) say it was made for EVERY PARENT it was done for Mr. Wigmore I'm afraid.

If you are not Steve's son or daughter... but you really really feel it... weeeell... take it easy chap... relax... talk with a professional.

If you are trying to be funny, sharp of clever... then you are a fkn moron!!!

  • @footballcrazedful it's made for her dad....

  • A few months ago, when my father was dying, my mom and I played songs for him hoping the healing powers of music would wake him up. I didn't know this song then, since I heard it a few days ago I've been back in yearning misery. I really miss my dad T__T This song has a strong impact on me, it is really bringing up the sad memory of waiting and hoping for my daddy's eyes to open and him to be okay, I wish I had played it for him.

  • 12 people dont get the meaning of this song

  • THUMBS UP if Virginia Wigmore just became your favorite Rock-Star-Hero-Girl!!!

  • I'm sure this'd be touching if i could understand what she was saying through half of the song

  • This is one of the best songs ever written for when a child loses a parent.

  • Live it out girl! I am a Wiggy.

  • Sounds like she's got Macy Gray stuck in her throat.

  • keep singin and greetings from finland

  • awsum talent

  • wow, Amy Winehouse may not be your kind of music, but she's hardly shit. I'm not a huge fan but I'm got to admit she's got a fantastic voice and a good feel to her music.

  • brilliant

  • Comment removed

  • She is HOTT!!!!!!

  • yeah baby xx

  • one tree hill brought me here..

    beautiful voice.. and lyrics...

  • @bella753159 you shouldnt be proud that a tv show brought u here

  • @hollister72794 whatever.. somehow she should be promoted.. so they put her music on tv shows.. and like this people like her music and this way she gains more fans..

  • this was uploaded on my birthday :))

  • What a touching song. Makes me cry! I love Gin Wigmore SO MUCH!!!

  • @MusicPlusDance im in the same place in her

  • love her lips.

  • Well, lord knows what happens to music once it enters those holes on the side of your head...maybe, to someone, this might sound like Amy Winehouse. To Others, this music sounds like a beautiful example of thought provoking art.

  • haha i have this friend and she looks exactly like gin wigmore and when gin wigmore came to napier for a concert everyone was asking if she was gin wigmore and i told everyone she was she hates me now hehe i

  • someone please upload this onto playlist.com!!

  • This song speaks to me personally. I lost my dad like Gin when I was really young. These lyrics bring me to tears whenever I hear them. They're so beautiful and sad.

  • same xxx

  • Gin is so pretty! :3

  • What happened to the end of the song????? I'm bummed it's not complete!!!!

  • I love this song, & to be honest I hate how people ask or google what songs are about. Usually the point of them is so they mean something different to every person.

  • Met her- She's a little fireball! Wonderful voice, music and person!

  • Am i the only one that get's shivers when i hear her voice?

  • This is one of the most wonderful crafted sad song I've ever heard.

  • Hallelujah for this mind that keeps our souls combined

  • Well we are in Wyoming and know about her. I try to at least two or three times a week of writing her name down and giving it to customers in our store. And now I'll tell you to go check out the Avett Brothers (if you aren't one of us fortunate folk who have heard of them) specifically Ten Thousand Words and go from there. Consider this my belated Christmas present to you. And if happen to not celebrate Christmas, then consider an everyday gift. ENJOY!

  • @JaCaMo323 Thanks. I shall take a look. Cheers. Elizabeth5830.

  • This song won her the INTERNATIONAL songwriting competition where she competed against 11,000 others from among 77 countries. She's not my personal flavour but she's definitely underrated.

  • 30,000 views last year. 150,028 this year. pretty big difference.

this girl has a lot of talent, and i am absolutely in love with this song and her voice.

  • Makes me think of the Swedish chef from the muppets.

  • Hard to enjoy, can't understand most of what she is saying. Like Macy Gray but mumbled. Just sayin...

  • @maxx0xxam im guessing ur not from new zealand cose i am and i can understand what shes saying but i guess thats diffirent accents for ya

  • @musteatsnow you are right, I am not from your side of the world, but I know several Kiwis and have no problem understanding them, or they me. I don't understand half of what Eddie Vedder says either though...

  • Carol Channing? yes

  • first line genuinely sounds like a cross between "derp dee derp derp derp" and "they took urr juurrbs!"

  • jaja xxxblubb..wie bist du nur auf diesen namen gekomme!?! ^^

  • This is my sister's contemporary dance, amazing. JakemsTV, don't get her known. She's an unbelievable artist. Some songs should be left under their shell for others to uncover. Yes, she is a brilliant singer, but some songs are hidden; or as long as the sun burns.

  • yea incredible voice its these lyric and genre choices are bad (well the ones ive heard) except for"these roses"........... thats the only pic i seen where she looks normal

  • I don't think she sounds that much like Amy Winehouse she sounds more like a female Paolo Nutini! Such an amazing voice!

  • It's a shame Amy Whorehouse came out first. Makes everyone compare this beauty to her.

Yes they have similar voices. Get over it.

  • This is a Great song !!

  • she wrote this song for her father that died. beautiful song <3

  • good...without the singing

  • thank you

  • Wow, what a lovely song. Beautiful.

  • omg what a beautiful voice incredible

  • Just saw her live in Burlington VT she is so good! :) Love her!

  • Few people exploit the metaphysical necessity and the moral necessity questions. Jimi Hendrix in my memory was the only one to ask society such deep questions. Much of what has transpired in humanity since then have been attempts to do the same. Good work from a Kiwi asking similar questions.

  • Looooooove it

  • i like the voice. its a like a mix of amy and duffy . this is the next big thing.

  • yeah man I agree she need to be more famous than what she is lol I love her so much she is very good I love her music all of it lol I have listened to this song alone almost30 times today haha

  • Wow... she has an amazing voice, unfortunately, I don't like the sound of her voice, but I agree wholeheartedly that she has a good voice

  • Owesome I recon !

  • im british, australian and new zealand music is the best, gin wigmore, sleepy jackson, little birdy....

  • Hallelujah for you Gin, as weird as this sounds it reminds me of Streetcar Named Desire - Blanche's love for Allan Grey

  • wow, her voice is awesome..

  • trying to rip off Amy Winehouse for sure...sounds put on...

  • @SSJJKM69 I saw her live on Fri night - no rip off, so so good and joyful!

  • @SSJJKM69 EATSHITNDIEEEEEE

  • @SSJJKM69 Hmmmm,, Ripping of A Junkie Skank,,, that's a sure fire recipe for success,,,, If you dont like her,,,dont listen,,,simple.

  • She sounds like a mix of Regina Spektor and Tegan & Sara. I like it. <3

  • no worries about her fame - she'll get there. quickly. can't stop a genuine thing.

  • my freind just used this song at their babys funeral it was beautiful

  • i love this song! It speaks to my soul in a very unique way!!!!

  • you suck

  • I don't like her actual voice.

  • my husband thinks she sounds like macy gray trying to channel amy winehouse...badly.

  • shes a kiwi <3

    i hate her voice

    but her songs are awesome

    and shes pretty :D

  • :O I know you xD -huggles- WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • how can you even compare Gin Wigmore and Amy Winehouse???

It's like comparing shit to diamonds. Gin Wigmore has meaningful, beautiful lyrics. You are crazy if you think Amy Winehouse is even remotely as good as this woman.

  • @evbev3921 Well see this is called an opinion. An opinion cannot, by definition, be wrong. It is a feeling or thought of belief if you will about that which is objective. Typing anything other than "your opinion differs from mine" is just mindless arrogant drivel. That is, of course, just my opinion.

  • @evbev3921 u r a stupid onesight bitch, bitch...

  • @evbev3921 Amy Winehouse is hardly shit. She is just as good as Gin Wigmore. They have different styles and voices but both make beautiful and heartbreaking music.

  • @evbev3921 yeah and now Amy's dead soo no competition. But seriously, Amy Winehouse was a beautiful woman blessed with a talent for singing. Unfortunately, she let it go to waste. The same is true for Gin except she has shown no signs that i see of letting her gift go so easily.

  • @soccerchic7ful Good comment, soccerchic. Gin Wigmore is cut from a much tougher fabric than Amy Winehouse. The extraordinary talent that both these women possess(ed) didn't/doesn't protect them from the real world. However, Ms Wigmore seems somehow, more resilient. A gutsy girl although the pressures of touring can take their toll on the strongest of people. No over manufactured auto-tune from both women. Aren't we fortunate their words have reached our ears?

  • @evbev3921 Amy Winehouse was an extraordinary woman. Damaged, faulted, clearly in pain. But nonetheless, a voice so powerful it was difficult to put the personality and the sound together. Her grit could move me and like others before her, we've lost more than we may realise at this point, due to her not fitting in. Gin has a greater strength of character than Winehouse but IMHO both are equally talented. They're true individuals as opposed to the "faux weird" cloth that Gaga is cut from.

  • @carlswade That is her natural voice- she is too much an artist to want to copy anybody. This is a song she wrote soon after the death of her father and dedicated to him. It is absolutely sung from the heart.

Anyway, Amy is a has-been. It's a shame, but that looks like the way it is if she can't get her shit together

  • I just added this to my twitter

  • her voice is so different, and so beautiful.

these lyrics are so emotional and beautiful... its like she's painting a picture with wordss. god its just so beautiful!

  • i lost my dad suddenly when i was 12. this song made me cry. i love the song but i don't think i'll be able to listen to it again for a while.

  • Outstanding talent - do yourself a favour Gin, get hold of Coby Grant (search the net) and tour together, cant go wrong.

  • this picture is stunning! powerful

  • her voice is different but fantastic :)

  • Her voice is.....different, but unique. And the song is pretty.

  • this girl is so underated, to the point where its a shame because the girl is so talented, this should be our 2010 resolution guys, to get Gin Wigmore known, make it a trending topic on twitter or something, ahaha.

  • You have no idea how much I agree.

I first heard 'These Roses' about 18 months ago & sent multiple requests to iTunes to add it and feature as a free download. But it was only added a month ago....

I've been telling a lot of my friends about her. I think she's brilliant!!

    Go team Gin! :p

  • @JakemsTV She has a recording contract with sony bmg Us. She is well known in New Zealand.

  • @aliciaandlily Could be, but New Zealand is not the world. I'm from the Netherlands and no-one around me has ever heard of her before. That is a shame.

  • @DropoutDesigns In saying that she has only been around for just over a year. I'm sure she will get there

  • @JakemsTV Ginwigmore is already know her album "Holy Smoke" went 3x Platinum and she is the only new zealand musician that is signed to Motown records with a 5 album deal

  • @JakemsTV amen!
