Yes it does save electricity to turn off the router and I think this is probably the best argument if you are confronted with someone who is totally unsympathetic to your health problems. You could print some stuff off on the adverse health effects of WiFi and put it in their letter box. Be patient, they might not react straight away, but you can be sure that sooner or later they will become aware of the dangers of wireless technology.
I asked my neighbor to turn her wi-fi off at night and when not using it. She agreed that cell phones, etc. are bad, but she won't turn it off to help me with my "health problems" that are becoming increasingly obvious. So my question is: does it save electricity to turn off the router? in which case she may be interested in turning it off at night, when she's not home, etc.
@MrBrian987987 Good for you have one neighbor. I live in a block of flats so I'm surronded by folks with wifi routers from all aroud even from top & bottom + my flat shares a wall with a server box and there is one of these on each floor. Plus routers are at work, we have acces to wifi internet in cafeterias, malls, schools libraries etc...
You say at the beginning that you're going to demonstrate the dangers of wi-fi routers, but there's nothing in the video that shows that wi-fi routers are dangerous. All you're demonstrating here is that wi-fi routers emit electromagnetic radiation - which is the very thing that they're designed to do. It's like holding a light meter up to a light bulb, and then switching-off the bulb, and then observing the dramatic drop in 'light pollution' (indeed, light is itself a form of em radiation).
@derrrick4321 For many people it is a revelation that WiFi routers emit EMFs. So yes, my primary aim is just that to show that they do emit EMFs. My health problems started by exposure to exactly this type of EMFs -which I had absolutely no idea I was being exposed to. When I looked into the scientific literature I realized they were dangerous. I think it is important that people should be aware of these dangers.
@RadiationProtection1 - I agree 100%. I had heard a lot of claims, and I finally started to see if there was any studies that I could read myself, any abstracts or pdfs. Well as it turns out, there are TONS. Major studies have been done, and anyone who tells you low level pulsating radiation, or pollution from cell phones, routers, smart meters is not dangerous, you are being Lied to!.. do some research.
You can actually shut off the wi-fi feature on routers on mine which is an actiontec, you can have access to the control panel by going to a similar intranet address like 192.168.0.1 through your web browser. You may need to download instructions for your router model to see if you can do this. Love your videos :)
@DreamShadow76 Yes you can shut the radiation off on some WiFi routers. I use a Netgear DG834G v2 which can also be easily deactivated through the internet address 192.168.0.1 you then enter a username and password, supplied at the time of purchase. What I like about the Netgear is that you can actually see on the display that the WiFi has been deactivated.
I definately see the effects on A 14 year old who has used wireless routers for about 3-4 years. It stresses my mind to the point of not really nearing the router, and when turned off I am less tense and relaxed. I find that with most electronics though. But I was wondering where one could get one of those detectors online, any general areas I could buy one?
hey, not to discredit your concern for the general public, but for one, unless I am sorely mistaken, there is no genuine proof that the electromagnetic radiation from routers, cellphones, portable phones, or anything from radio waves to microwaves is truly harmful. And for two you can't just use terms like "electromagnetic pollution" unless you know for certain that it is truly harmful.
Its not that there isn’t any proof, there is masses of it. There are more than 2000 studies which prove the dangers of EMFs but these go largely unnoticed due to the power and influence of the cell phone industry.
I know that EM pollution is truly harmful because I know what it does to the human body first hand (my body). Check out “Alan Marks and EMFs” story, there are many, many others like him.
@RadiationProtection1 Acutally there is absolutely zero proof regarding it, at all. Its funny how all you fear mongerers keep saying there's so much proof, and yet none of you can even provide a single source. Yes routers emit EMF radiation, but there is no proof that they are harmful to humans. There hasnt even been any proof that cell phones are a danger.
@DanGogh WiFi uses the same technology as cell phones. Over 2000 independent studies show the health effects of these EMFs, even the WHO are now saying they are possibly carcinogen. The proof is there. Whatsmore I can feel these EMFs, they affect my body, negatively, I'm not fear mongering, I believe the public need to be aware of the dangers.

@JadeXTopaz I have got information on the radiation meters on my website - sorry I missed your message first time round.
