It sounds like the old computer is booting with beep because indicating the computer is starting up from BIOS :D

mine did the exact same thing, later i tried to turn it on and it had the red rings of death, luckily, it was within my 60 day warranty.

I just got that today with my elite and a after the 2nd time I got it and rebooted, I got the RROD... I was playing the last effing mission in Ace Combat 6...

Did the beep come from the 360 or TV. I hear mine sometimes through the TV never the 360. Mine doesnt freeze but it has beeped before.

I left it over night, fired it up this morning unit froze again after 5 minutes sitting on the dashboard. It was a Zephyr swapped it over today for a Falcon. Fingers crossed with the 65nm CPU compaired to the 90nm CPU and the lower power consumption it should last another six months...
