Fenris: i'm not whining, i am complaining... wanna hear whining? THIS IS WHINING!!! WHY EVERYONE YOU LIKE IS A MAGE?, WHY MERRIL INOCENCE GETS MORE OF YOUR ATENTION?, AND I DON'T WANNA CARRY ANDERS AROUND BECAUSE HE IS A NIUSANCE AND ALSO AN IDIOT... WHY DO I HAVE TO PULL HIM?
I think Anders knows he whines a lot, but he's not possessed by nobility or guilt - he's possessed by justice/vengeance. If he can't control justice/vengeance, he certainly wouldn't be able to control a spirit of nobility or guilt. IE: He would complain regardless of what methods we found to get him to admit he whines.
I could tolerate Alistair in Origins because at least Alistair would make jokes in conversations - Anders just cries all the time. That and Alistair wasn't crazy.
@FlyingWardogFilms Really? I think Anders doesn't think that and would NEVER admit it. If he admits is whining is what it is then his arguments about mages are lessened, or at least he would probably think so. He probably thinks it's "informing the ignorant" rather than whining.
And I never had a problem with Alistair, I thought he was hilarious and his whining was almost part of his jokes...
The reason I used the Alistair reference is because I think Bioware may have attempted to put Anders as a whiner in DA2 because Alistair was the 'whiner' in DAO. Although with Alistair, his whining was replaced with catchy one liners and jokes - with Anders, it's just crying.
And in regards to the part where you said "it's informing the ignorant", that sounds too much like something a Qunari would say. Anders would never be as smart / disciplined as them.
@Hekateras Yeah; I wasn't really interested in him at first, but after flirting with him to see what happened and seeing him be all "OMG! She called me handsome! Wait-gotta stay serious!" I was lost.

@FlyingWardogFilms It's not about how smart he is, it's about how smart he THINKS he is. And about how dedicated he is to his cause.

I love how the background ambience ends abruptly when Fenris rebuffs with denial at Hawke's accusatory statement.
