@mas90009 Asus makes the world's best mother boards. They make amazing products. Intel hd graphic's is more then enough for a pc like this, the zenbook is not a desktop replacement or a gaming rig. That should be clear just by looking at it. You need to do some research on the companies products and know what your talking about before speaking. @MsSyDash if you bought it for $650 than you got a discount on it. In the eurozone Apple just changed the Dollarsign for a Eurosign. So in Europe appleproducts cost 1.31 times more than in the US. So there might be a better offer from a compatitor. In my opinion the most important disadvantage for both laptops is the lack of a antiglare display. If there's a antiglare version of the zenbook I might think of giving a way my HP, but for now no way.

@perlewitzaudio Disagree. A Mac has a lot of subtle touches that a PC has yet to match, which add up to an improved user experience overall. The Zenbook is a great product, and is very competitive, but the Air is still definitely a more pleasurable experience, if you're willing to pay for it. (I constantly use Windows, Linux, and Mac for my work).

I said those things because I've never owned a Mac and have never got the great chance to enjoy one. I still have yet to afford one. Why isn't it worth mentioning the Zenbooks’ worse trackpad and the issue with none response problems when typing to fast on the Zenbooks’ keyboard compared to the Macbook air? The screen on the Zenbook might be a higher resolution (1600x900 vs 1440x900) but in my opinion the Macbook air just has a nicer screen to look at, even though I know there have been some colour issues with the Macbooks’ screen when looking at it from different angels.
I'm buying it this month, it's quite awesome. I tried it at a friend's and it's simply amazing. It's not a laptop of course but I was hesitating between a laptop and a netbook and I must say it's way closer to a laptop in performance and way closer to a netbook in portability. And of course apple is out of the question, I don't like closed computers nor being ripped off.

I think he is giving HP too much credit for the standby instant on bit. The main real cool thing is the 2 week standby time, while other laptops may lose their charge in standby after a few days or so. But then again.. i have mine go to hibernate if its on standby for too long anyways.. so it doesn't really matter.

i just picked up a zenbook. i like all the accessories but i still find that looking at the mac book air the screen colours and viewing angel on the air are way better. with this zen it seems like those 3ds toys if you are not looking dead center you will get this negative image type of colour. its really annoying.

You praise the usb 3.0 as super fast, the instant on functionality without ever mentionning the MacBook air. The air has Thunderbolt (faster than usb3.0 and instant on since it´s launch (several years before the zenbook)). Not to say that the revolutionnary ingeniering process by incerting a whole cmputer system in such a tinny case was accomplished by Apple in 2008, almost 4 years ago...

I think he is giving HP too much credit for the standby instant on bit. The main real cool thing is the 2 week standby time, while other laptops may lose their charge in standby after a few days or so. But then again.. i have mine go to hibernate if its on standby for too long anyways.. so it doesn't really matter.

i just picked up a zenbook. i like all the accessories but i still find that looking at the mac book air the screen colours and viewing angel on the air are way better. with this zen it seems like those 3ds toys if you are not looking dead center you will get this negative image type of colour. its really annoying.

im debating on getting one of these machines within 2 weeks...i think the asus is slightly better EXCEPT, the mac has that un beatable , game breaking , patented technology of that magnetic battery powering . I used to be a apple fan got the first iphone which was a great step fwd but still felt dissapointed that they misd basic things. I waited for them to make an iphone which was worth getting. I got fed up and got an android then realised with the new os that they copied a lot of ideas and ripped google voice commands and @SquireofFire is spot on its all down to marketing. It p####s me off that apple could be great but rip you off insted.
