@midwesternoutdoors Which ones are we talking? New? We think the transmission (3 speed auto and no low range!) is silly and the Grizzly is one of our favorite machines - along with the King Quad.
i have a 1985 honda fourtrax 250 that runs great but its kinda slow the top speed is like 35 mph and someone offered me to trade his 01 grizzly 600 for my honda but.. the grizzly blows blue smoke really bad so it needs rebluilt and when you push on the gas it will rev up but it takes a little bit to get the quad moving? so the tranny might need rebuilt or a belt or something? do you guys think it would be worth trading? or just keep my quad?
this is a nice video, one question- if you hit little jumps and like to catch a little air on sport utility atvs like such is it not better to have stiffer suspension so when you land the travel is used up instead of say bottoming out and perhaps breaking something?
@Breckboarder1989 The spring setting really depends on your weight and how hard you ride. You want to use all the suspension's travel when you ride but you don't want to bottom out too hard and too much.
@8nguy Not any more - just here and on our website. And on our website the videos are all categorized and we have Latest News and link to our 2 blogs.
hey im looking to buy a 2003 grizzly 660 LE and i am just wondering how good of a bike they are thanks. atvtv u guys are great i watch all ur vids thanks guys!!
They are pretty good machines. My only dislikes are that they sit pretty tall and are a bit tippy. But a good set of radial tires help the handling a great deal.
on my 09 grizzly i can set the pre load on the shocks and i have a question... if i make it softer will it help with going up hills and not tend to be top heavy and riding through trails?
It depends on how much you weight. I set mine at the softest setting as at my weight (about 170) I want the suspension to travel the most it can. The absolute best-for-the-money modification you can make is to change the tires to a good set of lightweight radials.
Well i'm a rather big guy i'm 6'1 260 so i bet where it is set now is good. As for the tires i would put lightweight radials if i didn't go in mud so much, i would for sure get stuck more than i want too lol. thank you for your help :D
I agree about the stock suspensions being too stiff and raising a quad up too high for my personal liking. Keep the center of gravity low and let the suspension flex so the tires are doing their job as well. Rock crawlers use the same principle look at how much articulation many of the rock Jeeps have and why they are that way. Another good edition sir keep them coming and maybe I'll see you on the trail one of these days. The Paiute is going to be my dream trip now. Nothing like that here.
What was the difference in actual ground clearence on the stock Grizzly and the suspension modified Grizzly. By the video of the two quads beside each other it looks quite significant, and are there any adjustments there that wouldnt allow the quad to sit so low?
Tires, suspension, handling......I'd have to say our 2008 Yamaha Big Bear 400 IRS's that my wife and I ride are pretty close to perfect bone stock. Light and easy to hadle. Smooth ride and ride on factory 25" ITP Mudlites. Not much mud or snow in Az. but when we do find it,and we do, it's a non issue for the bikes. About the only thing they lack is a low range but I've not needed anything lower than the granny first they have. I'd like to hear their thoughts on a new Big Bear IRS.
I don't have much time in serious mud, but a good locker and huge power has got to be a good bet - so that means the Brute Force 750 would top my list for a stock machine. remember, that's a STOCK ATV.
yeah well i find that the brute force 750 has a crappy belt system and i wish you wouldn't have to hold that lever, but other than that its a good atv
hey, im 14 and me and my dad are looking into getting some atvs. i want somthing with lotsa power that will last me tell im 25. is the 2008 suzuki 400 good enough for me? or should i get a honda 500cc class or sumthing? please message me back as soon as u can! thanks!
Depends on what You want. For a sport atv nothing beats the user friendly automatic transmission sport atv. For heavy performance in a sport atv You will want a Raptor 660r. For a off road atv go with a Grizzly 660. And I am not biased towards yamaha, They are just the best.
240p, really?

When You did these Mods, DId you reset the alignment on the front ?

No, actually the lowering slightly improved the settings for both the caster and camber - in my opinion.
