How is megaman dying out?! Megaman should still be like, the most popular thing in the world. I really don't understand how people can hate the series. ITS THE BEST!! if its megaman, its awesome.
@SeventhSun Mega Man 7 and Mega Man 8 are highly underrated and needlessly resented games. They are beautiful masterpieces which allowed the series to evolve in very artistic and fun ways. The games are creative, vibrant and their music and sound effects are wonderful. These elements allowed for a deeper gameplay experience while staying true to the simple mechanics. I cannot fathom how people can bash 7 and 8. So much detail and care went into them. That trend should continue.
@Z3ro42 Unfortunately, no one knows for sure. However, the company producing the game recently revealed a beta testing contest type thing for lucky gamers in Asia. So I suspect sometime soon...but still no word if the game will ever be brought to different regions. =(
@MooneySquared That would be a great thing, depending on how it it was made. There absolutely does not need to be any more NES-style games. 10 was alright, but the concept overstayed it's welcome. There were 6 8-Bit games to begin with, now there's 8. Is that all Mega Man is? Is that all he's capable of being? I'm not too fond of this crossover idea myself (yet), but at least it's something new. We need X9, ZX3 and Legends 3 and, yes, MM11 next, the right way. With current tech.
@MegaMacTV Call of duty needs something new, Megaman's fine the way he is. C'mon now. Megaman ZXDZX- whatever, or Megaman 2. I already miss the 2-D adventures of Megaman, not this 3D gloomy Anime stuff. There's Mario and Link that work well in 3D, but to Megaman, leave that to 2D. I do however agree on the current tech point. It's all down to opinions anyway.
It think they should try with a movie, not a MMO. When I think megaman, I don't think MMO, I think of a platformer with 2D shoting. Also, this kind of story would make an exilent TV show or movie. I'm not much of an MMO player myself, but I think alot of people will agree with me. Oh, and who else wants to see battle network implemnted with this, if were brakeing the time-line.
@DemonofHell48 it actually is a platformer with 2d shooting. all of the graphics and everything are in 3d but it's still 2d platforming and action. also, there are the equivalent of "finish him" commands after you beat the boss at the end of every mission, where you get to watch your character finish off the maverick in a cinematic way.

Uh.. Oh, wow, am I the only one who really hates this? I don't mean to provoke jerks who are just going to go off on me for having a different opinion, but I really am just not digging this graphic design. The animation doesn't fit the Rockman series at all, the characters look too slim and the artwork style just doesn't feel right. The ultra-realistic dark atmosphere and camera blurring/moving just doesn't fit, either. Megaman is colorful, fun, cute, this is just.. Wrong.
@OrangeBandanna Mega Man Classic's original intention was to be the way you describe. However as the series grew, the audience grew. The series became a major franchise introducing the X Series and Zero Series and more. What also grew was the maturity and depth of the story and the characters. The timeline became progressively darker as well as the situations. Most of the games may not relay the story too well, but it really is a nice one.
Simplicity is key. Maturity? Depth? Darkness? These are demented Western ideas so save these for yourselves on the other side, but do not again impose your cancerous desires upon the rest of the world. Quarantine and contain the infection, thanks.

I highly recommend tracking down copies of the Anniversary Collection, the X Collection and the Zero Collection. That's pretty much all you need to get started if you'd like to know more and experience a great game series. =)

Rockman series was great on 8-bit, and to an extent the 16-bit, but later on it became less fun and less meaningful.
Rockman was nice again after the crappy 7 and 8 and its appearance in the Marvel games.
