I was saved, baptised and Jesus happy too. Now, 20 years later I am a "born again" atheist and I have never been happier. Happier than that person that was terrified of burning in hell for thinking normal thoughts for sure. Happier than when I believed God had to come up with that bizarre circular "salvation plan"

Dont be sorry. Oddly enough, in depth Bible study led me to disbelief. That and study of other religions, philosophy, logic, apologetics, biology, science,etc. But atheism only means "no god belief" I also stopped believing in anything supernatural (ghosts,esp,etc). Religion messed me up pretty bad, I was still a little bitter when I wrote that comment 5 months ago. All I suggest is that believers STUDY the Bible, and dont ignore the ugly parts or be afraid to ask questions.

I hear you! Now I accept all, and condemn non. I have no fear besides the real fear of religous people blind to reason. I studied the bible and learned, and connot, In clear conscience, accept a lie which will condemn others. The most christian act a person can do is renounce christianity. I would rather burn with the innocent people they condemn and fight a GOD that would be so merciless than join their ranks. Love is my premise.

Love is your premise? Then, logically, you would follow the scriptures. The whole bible is based on love. We were all given free will to love God, as he cannot force love. We disobyed and sinned. But God cannot have sin in his presence, for the wages of sin is death, and God is everlasting. So, a God of eternal goodness, without any evil blemish, wholly loving of all that is good, has given us the choice to love him. Hell is a punishment we choose, Christ is the saving love we accept.

There were hundreds of books amassed over centuries and widdled down to a canon by the 16th Century, and voted on at the Council of Trent. That's a fact.
