@TheInventorkid uSE A "SLIP BOBBER RIG" you can make your own "stop"s" w/string or a piece of airhose(I like put it over the top n adjust as you go and adjust your splitshot...I use it all the time! unless i'm in deep water check out my vids n u can kinda see how it's set up,or check out"roadsnake90"'s channel to get an ide(trout bead vid/too) wish I had more time to explain..or check oout a "slip bobber rig video and tweek/use the technique however you want too

the best bait to use is corn and worm i only use a bobber on the ponds and when fish on lakes i just use a wieght and a travel hook

The bait or lure must be down at the depth of the fish you are targeting. Some fish are near the surface at times while others are over 100 ft deep other times. There are 2 major categories of floats and those are either line clipped floats or slip floats. If you want to fish shallow then clip floats are easiest to use but if you are fishing deep, then it is best to use a slip float with a depth adjusting stopper that fastens to the line so you can precisely adjust your depth.

my friend has actually caught a 15 lb. catfish in Big Bear using a bobber, the thing came up to the fucking surface cause of the bright colors on the bobber, and nibbled at the green peas that was on my friends hook, and he ended up reeling him in after about 15 minutes, but I think that this case was just luck... but it was pretty awesome! lol

umm basically a "spinner rod" is open and u can see the line and a bait casting rod the fishing line is closed in =] i prefer spinner rod but it takes a little getting used to =] start with a bait rod
