  • What board should i get i like flexy boards with nice control

  • Hey i am wondering what setup would be good for a skate banana. kinda new with bindings, so i dont know if they make any difference

  • has anybody had problems with the magna traction getting hung up while boardsliding? I have been considering getting one of these for awhile but was wondering how the magnatration will effect boardsliding

  • @jspau956 As long as you detune there should be no problems with Magne-traction catching. The biggest thing you'll have to get used to is board sliding a rocker camber profile. It doesn't lock in as easy as regular camber, but once you get used to it you'll love the looseness and easy spinning on boxes and rails.

  • @jspau956 you boardslide on your base not your edge. most have a 2 or 3 degree base bevel so sharp or not magna-traction has nothing to do with rail or boxes it has to do with edge hold on icy or hard conditions wether sharp or detuned.(i pefer detuned you don't need sharp edges when you have magna.)

  • Hey im 186cm and 82kg and 43shoe size what size of the skate banana should i get?

  • im 6'2 about 220 size 11 or 11.5 shoe .im torn between what board to get i like something that carves well an is stable but is a good all around board i dont plan on doing much park riding if any.any advice for board size an wich one im partial to the magic but am open to the attack or skate.....i think im going to get a 161 or 158 not sure help?!?!?!

  • Awesome review! Good job

  • I'm 5'11" with a size 9 boot size and I bought a 159 Attack Banana, did I choose the right size?

  • @Bri7man I reckon yes, you are almost exactly the same sizes I am in terms of height/boot - i looked at the 156 & 159 together and the difference is so marginal you can barely see the difference imo. The 161 however does look quite bigger compared to the 156. It's almost like a game of psychological warfare when choosing the size of your board, so many opinions online that it's hard not to be influenced by it all

  • @tec303 Haha agreed on the psychological warfare, I bought my board at a convention and everyone had different opinions it was such a mental battle. Glad to know I chose correctly!

  • @Bri7man haha well that's just my opinion, 159 for me when i weighed it all up seemed the best option. I remember sinking too quickly in the pow when i rode a 154 & 156 a few seasons back so those extra cm's may make all the difference..

  • im 6'1" 150 lbs with size 11 boots. im an all mountain freestyler and hit anything and everything on the mountain. im looking at the skate banana. should i get the 154 or the 156? thanks

  • Hey im 6'1 160lbs and have a size 13 boot, i just bought the 159w skate banana! is this too big for or should i size down to the 156?

  • @tec303 I had a T.Rice, I'm intermediate and mainly ride piste & pow but not much freestyle ( coz I'm shit & the wrong side of 30 ;P) I found it to be quite stiff and a board that you really have to push, I wanted a skate banana or Jamie Lynn but could only get the Travis. If you're a confident rider who likes charging then get a Travis. I won a Prior AMF from Whitelines, it's a hybrid camber and I absolutely love it coz it's alot more forgiven than the Travis, so if you like a mellower ride yo

  • @boardinsiders I'm literally about to get an Attack Banana for this coming season, I'm still fro'ing back & forth with the T.Rice 2012 & Skate but I think the Attack is the perfect balance between the other 2. i live in London so testing boards out is tricky, especially the ones you wanna try out..

I'm 5'10, 150, size 9.5. I'm guessing the 156 is going to be the size i need? Any advice gratefully received Boardinsiders, this was an excellent video and just what i was after! Cheers!

  • @tec303 Definitely get the 156. I'm 5'9 150 and size 9 and it's perfect for me. Should be perfect for you as well.

  • @krion363 went for the 159 in the end, I hit a lot of powder and tend to do all mountain riding generally. The difference between the 156 & 159 is pretty marginal when you compare them side by side. Married it up with Burton Cartel Re:Flex bindings. Big decision now is where to go

  • @BoardInsiders hey guys, thank a lot for an awesome review, what would you suggest out of this 3 boards, i am intermedia to advance and i live on the east coast where we have a lot of icy conditions, thanks again

  • ive been looking at reveiws for different boards for a while but this video made me realize how bad all the other review videos were. this one actually told me everything i wanted to know. Great video.

  • Hey I am trying to decide on one of these three boards (or if you recommend any other boards). I am 5, 4 and 90 pounds. I ride backcountry and some park. Which board would be better.

  • Sooo Skate Banana - park Magic - Back country Attack - All mountain? thankss

  • would you recommend the skate banana as a quiver killer board? and how well does it do on the rest of the mountain?

  • hey guys, I'm looking for a good allround parkboard with a camber and rocker setup. im 1 of the bigger guys with a 6,10 with 186. with a boot size 10. could you give me a shoutout on what you would suggest for riding park mainly jibs rails and small kickers, but also keeps me up in fresh pow. and screwing around offpiste.

    thx in advance,

    Peace.

  • I´ve bought banana attack in 159 cuz i´m 179cm tall, and my weight is 75Kg and 11 of feet. cya

  • Great review guys! Definitely helped me decide to get the skate banana. I already like it more than my gnu people's choice, which is a great board but i wanted something a little more playful!

  • k ive got a question, where i normally go is a park based hill, i really want the banana magic, i got the money for it but it keeps saying on review sites that its more mountain freestyle not really for jibbing, my friend got the skate banana an that would be gay to get the same thing as him so is it worth it? or is there another tech i should be focused on. I need some help

  • Great review. The reviews were spot on, some really good insight & advice on the boards. LIB TECH rules.

  • Hey I'm 6'2 180 and i have a chance to get the 52 banana magic, would it be too small or would the stiffness of it make it suitable for me? i usually ride 57-59's but its a great deal and I have always wanted one!

  • @cr250r442 Pass or get it and trade in the winter. 152 is small for you unless you're only doing the urban thing, hitting boxes and rails. It would be a weird jib only board too.

They don't make a whole lot of sizes in it either. 152, 157, and 158w.

  • @BoardInsiders hello im gonna be a begginer this yearand i need to now what will be best for me i was thinking the skate banana becuase of is flexibility and how it good in powder park and backcounty

  • HEY LIBTECH GUESS WHAT: Kazakstan has the BEST potassium!!!!!!!

  • Its hard to make a legit case for reverse camber when every spin shows somone washing out.

  • its hard to make a legit case for reverse camber when the video shows somone washing out on every single spin. sorry to hate.

  • im going to buy a skate banana and i dont know witch size to get im 6,1 and 155 lbs, should i get the 152 or the 154? thanks

  • @Gr8Dane869 Tall and skinny, huh? Get the 154. It'll be the best all around for you, unless you just want it for urban features (boxes and rails) then get the 152. Plus the 154 won't add too much spin weight but will feel a bit more stable landing the big booters.

  • @BoardInsiders HI man! I want a Skate Banana but I don't know which size I need... I'm 5'10, 155-160lbs, I wear boot 9.5US size and I like to ride powder, big jump, high speed and a little bit park. Which size I need for the skate banana... Normal or the wide version ?

    THanks you!

  • @Scatology900 I suggest a 156 standard width. Only go wide if you're 11US or above (and even then some 11s have very small footprints and can squeeze on a standard with).

  • @BoardInsiders Thanks a lot it's really appreciated!

  • @BoardInsiders hey im 5ft 11 160 pounds and im trying decide between a 153 2012 t-rice and a 156 2012 attack banana. I like to ride a fair mount of all mountain but i want a board i can take in the park as well. I know with the magnatraction and the stiffness of the boards i can afford to ride a little shorter, but im just tryin to figure out what the best fit is. Thanks,

  • I´ve bought a Banana attack 2011/2012 but i´ll recive it on October. I hope that i´ve done a good deal.

    C ya snowboarders!

  • @boardinsiders

How does the banana magic work for jibbing?? I'm more of a speed/back-country guy but I've been trying to get into the park too

  • @DWdrums25 It'll work for sure but of the three it's the one that likes to jib least.

Because of the Banana Magic's deep side cut and aggressive Magne-Traction (wavy edge) it's twitchy(er) at slow speeds and really wants to turn. That's not usually a good characteristic for slaying boxes and rails.

That said it still is a great all-mtn board. In the park it will excel on the jumps, and if you do jib I suggest de-tuning it a bit more than you would most all-mtn boards.

  • sick review

  • lol "expert freestyle"

  • about the attack banana can u get it in the blue color cause every time i type it in on google its the red one

  • @weidman513 The blue is the 2011-2012 version, same board different color. Don't think they're available yet. If you really want to score a blue one check out our retail partners (SHOP tab on our site). I can't really say too much more but one of the shops has a great relationship with Lib and can at least ask them directly for you. Doesn't hurt to call and ask.

  • @BoardInsiders ok thanks

  • Jeremy sounds like Sol from Pineapple Express . Great review vid though !

  • I chose between banana magic and dark series, I went with the dark cause its a better free ride board with more control which was what I was looking for

  • banana magic kills it!

  • The attack banana is incredibly squirrely given the contact points are elevated off the snow and you have reverse camber between your feet, anyone serious about carving, jumping big jumps, and riding ice regularly should probably look into the Never Summer line of decks or something with more contact. IMO the attack is way too unpredictable. even skating it in the lift line was annoying.

  • Not surprised Banana Magic is the overall winner it's a lot more expensive.

I've got a skate banana and I love it for the small hills around here but I've got an attack banana on the way for bigger mountains and charging down the slopes.

  • THANK GOD FOR SOME DECENT RIDERS!

  • Attack (AKA Shady Banana)! I bought it and like it.

    Here's my 2 cents:

-The Attack(EC2) Banana's shape is between the Skate and the regular C2. The Magic is a stiffer high end skate banana with even more reverse camber and Mag.

-The Attack Banana puts the suspension right under your feet and it feels great in the choppy stuff. It feels stable at speed, but the less aggressive EC2 is easy to land. The Mellow Mag has great hold isn't too grippy so it's faster than the reg Mag. It's No Stunt

  • @74Tommygunn Thank you! I agree with you soo much!

  • So, the attack banana a publicity stunt?

  • banana magic is legendary. in my opinion, the attack banana is the compromise between the skate banana and the banana magic

  • So what do you thing about Attack Banana at all ? :)

  • @TomashhhG im saving up for the attack.. it looks sweet

  • so if the og skate banana is for park/all mountain and the banana magic is for freestyle/all mountain, where does the attack banana fit in?
