I mean, what about Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth, Testament, Exodus, Saxon and fucking BLACK SABBATH. Metallica was indeed a major influence WITH all of those bands, but they alone did not popularize it. Please do your history, because if you did you would know that Cliff Burton and Dave Mustaine were a big part in Metallica finding their own success. Hetfield leads the remains of a good band.
