  • can anyone tell me how i can practice painting withought using canvas'..because canvas' are expensive i don;t want to keep buying them for the sake of me improving

  • @stuart8965756799 maybe you can buy drawing books :) but dont try to add oil on piece of paper.. lol.. (painting is basically use oil paint or acrylic)

  • @sh3lv1 i have drawing books but i didn;t think they would work..thanks! :)

  • My clouds look like sheep Dx

  • Informative video, thanks.

  • You need to let the background dry before you add white

  • how did you done the background? when i normally paint it, and then use white on it, it mixes into rly light blue

  • @KilleroyCZ try to wait till blue color is completely dry :) and start to draw clouds

  • good stuff, that's the brush i need! so glad i like acrylics, they really are fun and very apartment safe. no more fumes!!

  • My cloud went up in smoke! lol !

  • Thats just AMAZING! now i'm gonna try.... I hope what i do looks like a cloud too...

  • wow...amazing!

  • Wow...that's incredible.

  • Thank you very much. I love your tutorials... I love art and I'm taking my skills to the next level after your vids. You are simply amazing...

  • Thank you for this tutorial, i've been thinking of studying art and hoping to get a job as an artist.

  • @THELARANANG123 your not going to find a job in art only working on fine arts, you have to explore and do everything, such as sculpting, sketch art, cartooning and illustration, media arts and graphic design. and you have to be dedicated. to be an artist for a living, you have to paint/draw EVERY single day, even on the days you don't feel like drawing. so good luck.

  • Iv'e called every art store here in Los Angeles for 'liquid white'. and nobody seems to carry or even know what that is!!! So are you just taking a piss mate??

what is 'liquid white'. and who makes it?

  • @wcbombers21 Its nothing more then a white base coat with a stretcher. mix somne white with some water and washing up liquid till its thick milk looking and u will have the same..

  • @juriaan13 ...Thats what I figured but it just seemed that it was special lol.....Thanks!!

  • @wcbombers21

Hmm maybe he means the white paint in a bottle which is more liquid-ish than the white you find in the acrylic tubes :-)

  • very good

  • What brand of paint are you using for this tutorial? I'm using Golden Heavy Body Titanium White. At the 20 second mark the paint is completely dry. I've tried using various amounts of paint with the same result - it dries too quickly.

  • what exactly is 'liquid white'. when I try this with acrylic paint, it dries too quickly to blend as you do. What am I doing wrong?

  • what exactly is 'liquid white'.

  • 23 people failed at making clouds.

  • what type of brush is he using?

  • This is the best cloud tutorial thanks so much I always have a hard time painting them. So going to do it this way now.

  • Thank you for sharing. I really got a lot out of this!

  • great video! thanks!

  • sir, i just to ask, should i add a little amount of water to my acrylic paint? thanks... i like the way you paint the clouds :) thanks for this video..

  • @sepohnekorb If i may answer that, you shouldnt. You want your acrylic paint as dry as possible (which the reason why he uses very less paint and spreads the ammount he has). You want the pigment white only, and you spread it only to make up for the extra water the pigment has in paint.

  • @alimahadtheman thanks a lot for answering my question sir. now i know what should I do.. :)

  • impressive

  • This is my favorite video of yours :D

  • wow. i suck with acrylics. i didnt know you could do so much with acrylics

  • My cloud looks sad :(

  • I love this video, it is both inspiring and educational and if I can one day paint as beautifully as this then I will be fulfilled beyond words, thank you for a beautiful cloud!

  • How do u do the backround plz help

  • gorgeous. This is lovely. Thank you

  • how do you get your background so solid?

  • wow that was helpful!

    your so skillful

  • I appreciate seeing the initial light application of white become the shadows of the cloud. It wasn't another object you were painting, but rather a series of highlights added to the sky. Very nice, thank you.

  • Awesome cloud.

  • It was a very helpful video and also what type of brush did you use?

  • What brush are you using?

  • how much water did you use on your brush - it looks rly dry??

  • @sugarstorm05 it's acrylic paint, not water colors. No water.

  • Thanks a lot for your video, I can say for sure that your video instruction is perfect and clear, i wish I can learn more from you! Please do let me know if there are any other instuctions that I can follow.

  • Thank you, your video was very helpful:^)

  • i was right in the middle of a painting when i got stuck! this video was just the thing i needed to finish my scene, thanx!!!!!!

  • puffeh clouds :P

  • Great video ! very helpful ! Does this technique works also with oil colors ? Thanks :)

  • Your voice is very monotone but i don't mind, Good cloud!!

  • looks real

  • thank you!!

  • That looks like a cloud!!

  • What brush are you using for this?

  • You just saved my GCSE coursework, ahaa thankss

  • This is a simple cloud !! What the heck is a complex one ?!

Great Video BTW, such an amazing cloud...

  • My clouds look like white turds

  • @ADAMKTN

  • Would this be affective with drawing smoke as well? cause its seems like it

  • Thank you for this lesson. It was very helpful. I can't get out to art lessons so these videos are very much welcomed.

  • No one is "NOT SO GOOD" when he/she has the knowledge! Thank you!

  • i love most of your paintings especially the Time lapse landscape ! but in clouds i think Wilson Bickford does great! and it's quick too!

  • i love most of your paintings especially the Time lapse landscape ! but in clouds i think Wilson Bickford does great! and it's quick too!

  • EXTREMELY HELPFUL!

  • I like this cloud better than Bob Ross's clouds.

  • lol i thought it was done at like 1:10

  • 16 people disslike-sad 16 people cant paint a cloud even after watching this

  • Wow, this was so totally helpful. I really enjoyed this video. Almost as much as i enjoy art class. :-D

  • Beautiful.

  • this video was helpful compared to others on youtube on this subject. Thanks.

  • In the beginning did you use circular motion or just painted? Also, what type of white did you use?

  • In the beginning did you use circular motion or just painted?

  • it looked good before adding layers

  • so fucking long to paint a cloud! i paint much better in half of that time, even less!

  • Nice. What color mixture did you use for the sky?

  • Thank you this helped me out a lot :)

  • so awesome!!

  • thankyou! exactly what i needed :)

  • This is a silly question probably, How do you get your blue background so even? Do you apply a dark blue to the top and a light blue to the bottom? Or a dark blue to the whole canvas and add white later to lighten it up? This video was very easy to follow and very helpful. Thanks :o)

  • Sounds like Kermit.

  • Thanks! I wasn't so sure on the painting of clouds. I'm a drawer, if you know what I mean.. I specialise in pencil drawings and now I'm trying out acrylic in different ways and this really, really has helped me! :)

  • @StripesndSuch haha! same here.. I draw mostly and still learning how to paint with acrylic.. :p

  • Thank you!

  • Tim, thanks for sharing...

  • wow something that looks so good is just so simple to paint.

  • I like the part when he was painthing a cloud :D

  • go to fine-art.com search marc allen. great art for your home. original, and entry level prices.

  • how did you do the blue gradient background

  • Why the hell would 12 people dislike this video? Your video was very helpful; thank you!

  • @Donu7M4st3r Those 12 people that are now 20 are jelous, you find that big time in the art world: but the thing is they are not able to take a good lesson along with critisim to become the best that they could have been or could be. That is how you learn. take care Muki

  • @Donu7M4st3r I'm sure they missed the like button !

  • People who can paint like this are fucking amazing. It doesn't even look that difficult, but still!

  • AMAZING!

  • What kind of a brush are you using?

  • Wow man, that blue is perfect. PERFECT.

  • Very Helpful Thank U So Much :D

  • LOL after 1:40 center of cloud looks like bionicle mask xD

  • This is probably the best cloud I have ever seen

  • what kind of brush do you use for your clouds?

  • nice technique, you are truly a talented painter,

  • At times his voice reminds me of Kermit.

  • how do you know how much to put on your brush?

  • how do you make the paint fade on the clouds, when i try mine are too thick

  • @derrick4508 You probably have too much paint on the brush :/

  • unbelievable

  • Nice stroke

  • u sir are awesome

  • WELCOME...visit GPABSKY.com website for the ARTIST. ty!

  • It's a shame my white paint has died... going to buy a new one soon :)

  • This video rocks.

    You are an excellent instructor.

I just ordered your video series.

Does it have to be "liquid" or "clear" white or can I use Titanium or Zinc White?

    Why or why not?

  • I have a question xD : Would this work on my bedroom wall?

  • @HugsPlease If you have a wall with a smoother type of paint on it, it might be a little harder to get the effect, but it is possible. I've made clouds on my wall in my room :) You can use a large sponge to get the effect but keep it fairly dry with not so much paint. This way you can over lap and continue to go in areas that you want it to be really faded. The key thing is less paint for fading :) hope this helps you

  • tanto para una nube pues vaya puede hacer más

  • @koenbp

well then if a monkey can do it, then i must be a giraffe

  • I've done one almost the same as yours! I am pretty glad! Thanks to you !

  • You are the King of the clouds!

  • Are the bristles on your brush soft or coarse?

  • @agadowable they are soft. I have been working on cloud techniques for teh last week or so, using a #5 and #3 brush. They are too course to make the fuzziness around the edge of the clouds.

  • thats amazing.

  • mhmmm mine sucks :\

  • Totally amazing!

It seems so easy. I'm going to try my first painting. I wonder what the result is gonna be. So far I only did pencil drawing :)

  • thank you! :D

  • Nice tutorial I learned a lot.

  • Can I get the same effect on paper?

  • thank you soo much this really helps =)

  • i really learnt a lot from your videos....you are a good teacher too... thanks for uploading these videos.

  • Could titanium white or other white acrylic paint be used instead of Opaque white?

  • what brush r u using?

  • How did you do the background?

  • @remboy3000 background is a mixture of cobalt blue and cerulean blue for top layer then add apple barrel white (Plaid) to that mixture for second layer, then just apple barrel white for last layer.

  • @kenivrat27 But is it acrylic? Or did he add water to it? Or is it water colour?

  • @remboy3000 It is acrylic paint

  • @mreinstein48 thanks that took forever :D oh well looks like I don't even have enough paint for the background

  • what kind of brush is he using? is the head round? or flat? someone tell me here???

  • @mondocaneman round

  • Comment removed

  • @mondocaneman he is using a #6 round

  • @mondocaneman wanted to add a little more info other than just the size, which like i said earlier is #6, but it is a white hogs bristle brush which make a big difference for his technique.

  • @mondocaneman I think it has to be round to get the clouds looking fluffy!

  • what colors did u use

  • @tennebanoit background is a mixture of cobalt blue and cerulean blue for top layer then add apple barrel white (Plaid) to that mixture for second layer, then just apple barrel white for last layer.

  • Beautiful cloud :) Thank you

  • very nice..

  • do you have a video to show how you make the blue background? (:

  • thats really good, what kind of brush are you using?

  • XO thanks

  • happy little cloud :)

  • very cool.

  • Hey... Thanks for the video clip. It really helped me, a newbie in painting; in fact, i'm still deciding which to pick up, acrylic or oil painting. Cheers…

  • i think he used a stiff scumbler brush

  • This is the best cloud lesson I've seen so far. You really made it seem so simple. I'm going to try it while I play the video again to see if I can get my clouds to at least be a simulation of yours!.

  • Thanks for sharing. It is really great! Good presentation and lesson for starters as well for those who struggle painting clouds.

  • wow this is soo helpfull!

  • thank you- very important for me

  • never knew you can spend 10 mins on drawing a cloud.

  • @msbrownization Lol ikr? But I think it's beautiful and it really defines the effort people put into their paintings and it kinda makes me appreciate it more. :)

  • @XxMorriganxX haha ofcourse. no i dont mean it the negative way.. it was a genuine surprise for me on how much effort ppl can put into their drawings

  • @msbrownization Oh I know xD I'm sorry I didn't mean it to seem like I thought you meant it that way.

It was a surprise for me too, and nonetheless inspiring

  • @XxMorriganxX yeah this guy spent 10 mintues alone just on the clouds

  • @msbrownization well that's a nice looking cloud!

  • lol, thanks for the tips, although my brushes were so wasted after I did the circular motion thing. Works wonders tho. ^^

  • This is really fantastic, I like painting sooooooooooo much

  • AW that is so good!

  • I'm fairly new to painting, struggling to get realistic looking clouds. Yours are the best I've seen, as far as realistic looking, thanks!

  • looks great
