@DiegoDCvids In some ways it looks to be close to the phidippus group of jumping spiders. The spider resembles phidippus princeps, but it's probably something I have never seen. I don't know how far south the phidippus group of the salticids live. We have several phidippus jumping spiders, but I still haven't seen every type of phidippus yet. I wished I knew for sure what this spider is, the markings on the abdomen look a little like phidippus princeps, but not exactly the same.
@DiegoDCvids The general family name of these spiders is "Salticidae" (from Latin "Salticus" which means "jumper"). I don't know the specific name of that sub-species. They may look cute, but if you were a fly, they would be terrifying. They are among the most smart predators on this planet. Their eyes can calculate the exact distance that separates them from a prey, calibrating their jump. They can even hunt other spiders by touching their webs "interpretating" a victim and attracting them.
@georgemichealelvis Narrow abdomen is one clue when it comes to male jumping spiders, and pedipalps can clue you also if you don't know the species yet. In most cases, the males will be more colorful than the females.
(≧ ◡≦) *SQUEEE* It's so friggn' cute! Those darling eyes. If my hubby weren't so scared of spiders I would be crawling with them.
