I absolutely love this song, I'm 66 and can't get over the oldies. I say bring them on. Every so often you hear or see teenagers dancing to the oldies. I just love the sound. Oh, the oldies, and I still love hearing them, over and over and over again.
I think I like this better than the 1961 record. The lead singer has such flair, polish, and style, it's such fun to watch and listen. I know that Ray Smith is the only original Jarmel in this group now, but I don't know which one is Ray. Not to take anything away from the other singers, but the lead guy is really cool.
@willyleeman I did a little research and discovered that Ray Smith, the only surviving member of the original group, is the one who sings the bass solo. The other solo singer is Tyrone Thomas.
What a pleasant surprise hearing from you. What a great peformance---I wanted to share it with the world. I bought the record the week it was released when I was a teenager. I have all your recordings. I'm not sure what you mean about sending me a better copy---my email address is: kenschreiber@yahoo.com.
