The shootout used to be about who was the best among the polesitters from the previous year...now it's makes' battle...If you wanted a battle among the makes, make a different race, because then you'll see the same guys there year after year...
I was at this race sitting right behind the flag man in the second deck front row. Rudd is/was my favorite driver. I have 7 digital pictures of that last lap crash and him ending up on his roof.
Marlin has never wrecked a ton of people. Not anywhere near the amount Kyle Busch has! If you mean that Marlin "killed" Earnhardt, if thats what you're implying, than this "numbnut" thinks you are a complete dumbass!
i totally agree with u montyth. Marlin hasn't wrecked many people and didn't kill Earnhardt. If I remember right, Kyle Busch once said he didn't care how many people he wrecked
I personally think that the old 25 Lap Format was a bit better. Even tho it was extreamly shorter than what it is now, but like that finish, It doesn't matter how long a race is...as long as there is a last lap, there is going to be a finish to remember.
The new format, which will be used for 2009's Shootout, looks horrible on paper...a team competition between the car makes? There's no way that will ever work!

i was also there, i remember seeing rudd crashing into the wall on the bigscreen, then a big 28 car slides in front of us. Freaking dusty...
