Too much criticism, too little constructive here. What I know is this that all the economy has addressed and is still addressing is those who have things to lose. What about those who have already lost it all and are homeless. Their numbers of course are growing. This IS a national problem and a national disgrace. Statisticly 70% of those without home have a physical or a mental disability or both. If you are injured at work, you may find out how this can happen to you as I did.

I dont understand why the global solution to fix the economy is different from the national solution. Why is the current tax plan to redistribute the wealth, have the wealthy (top 10%) who pay over 70% of the $1 trillion brought in in income taxes while the bottom 50% contribute 3% (IRS,2005) and now he is asking all the countries to help out...this seems like with this idea the flat/fair tax would be more to his liking if he wants everyone to help.

That's what economic systems are by definition and running a free, structured society costs money. $10 to a person with only $100 (10%) is huge compared to a person with $100,000 (.01%). It also illustrates why a flat tax wouldn't be fair, either. With the luxuries of wealth come additional responsibilities to OUR society. The top 10% possess 90% of the wealth, of course they're going to be paying more! That's how percentages work.
Obama was the one that stated it was a redistribution of wealth...and if you are going to use percentages the use them...if you want that 10% example then that would only be $10 to someone that had $100 but then that 10% then turns into $10,000 to someone with $100,000. And honestly/personally, im fine with the wealthy paying a little bit more but i want the lower 40% to pay something...the problem with society is we have gotten lazy and expect the govt to take care of us

Too much criticism, too little constructive here. What I know is this that all the economy has addressed and is still addressing is those who have things to lose. What about those who have already lost it all and are homeless. Their numbers of course are growing. This IS a national problem and a national disgrace. Statisticly 70% of those without home have a physical or a mental disability or both. If you are injured at work, you may find out how this can happen to you as I did.

That's what they all do. Republicans(Bush) put wasteful spending on the Iraq war, opening up the Dept of Homeland security(which is a big bureaucracy), Federalizing airport security, prescription drug benefit for seniors which most seniors hated. Continued to fund unemployment compensation, Started up the TARP program, bailed out the Auto industry. Obama is just continuing what Republicans started, except cap and trade and Health care.

We have to lower the value of the dollar to such a point as to be competitive with China, India, Indonesia, etc. In order to do that we must lower the standard of lining of all Americans. That means whipping out the middle class as we have known it.

I dont understand why the global solution to fix the economy is different from the national solution. Why is the current tax plan to redistribute the wealth, have the wealthy (top 10%) who pay over 70% of the $1 trillion brought in in income taxes while the bottom 50% contribute 3% (IRS,2005) and now he is asking all the countries to help out...this seems like with this idea the flat/fair tax would be more to his liking if he wants everyone to help.

that "redistribute the wealth" line is so meaningless and tired. That's what economic systems are by definition and running a free, structured society costs money. $10 to a person with only $100 (10%) is huge compared to a person with $100,000 (.01%). It also illustrates why a flat tax wouldn't be fair, either. With the luxuries of wealth come additional responsibilities to OUR society. The top 10% possess 90% of the wealth, of course they're going to be paying more! That's how percentages work.

Obama was the one that stated it was a redistribution of wealth...and if you are going to use percentages the use them...if you want that 10% example then that would only be $10 to someone that had $100 but then that 10% then turns into $10,000 to someone with $100,000. And honestly/personally, im fine with the wealthy paying a little bit more but i want the lower 40% to pay something...the problem with society is we have gotten lazy and expect the govt to take care of us

Obama gave reasons for why he is spending so much money, and they are for good things. But, money does not grow on trees. He will be spending a lot more money then the country will get back. He said he would not pass the debt to the next generation, but he is doing that. He lied to us. I think he is thinking short-term so he can get re-elected, this is wrong. We need a solution now for the long-term goal. He can not just spend and forget about the consequences of spending so much.
