  • How is the slide holding up? still holding together and reliable?

  • ive been looking for a holster for my glock21 with a glock light do you think the safari holster would fit the 21 with my glock light on it?

  • damn gun more on arts it doesnt even broke my Cup

  • That stupid wolf looks about as manly as a ladybug.

  • so basically glock is like legos for adults...:D

  • Your vid just helped me make up my mind for my next handgun!! The 10 mm is so versatile i like having all those caliber options on one platform. Great vid

  • I want the exact holster with the light mod like yours, what Safariland model# is this holster in your video and how much was it? And did u get it shipped from Safariland on line purchase or did u buy it in a store?

  • New to Guns & Glocks. Excellent Video, love the mods.

    Conversion Questions:

Using the LongWolf .40 S&W Barrel, you mentioned using 10mm Magazine, if so desired could .40 G22 Mag be used? in G20 frame?

Using the Glock21 Upper on the G20base, will .45ACP G21 Mag fit into G20 Frame?

  • @magnetox73 The G21 mag will fit into the G20, but the G22 mag will not. The 20 and 21 use larger frames that the 17 and 22. Holsters are also not compatible.

  • I want to upgrade my. 20

  • How's that 45 upper working out I need your advice

  • thanks i dident even know how to un do my gun well im still learning

  • Your vid just helped me finally come to a decision on my next handgun purchase, thanks.

  • have you ever thought about getting the lone wolf 10-357 conversion barrel? then you could shoot 357sig, they also make a 9x25 conversion barrel for your glock 20 that's alot of caliber options for one pistol isn't the 10mm a great platform to have.

  • dude sweet vid! but that beaver tail caught my eye! whats the story on it? how did you get it, install it?

  • @kingbigdawg9 It helps when you watch part 1 before part 2..

  • I just got 1000 Starline 10mm brass and berrys bullets for alittle over 200 bucks for both. Just gotta look for deals man.

  • Sorry, still pretty new to glocks, why is the tail underneath the slide sticking out like that?

  • the G20 is awesome...found one in OD green...left the store with me!!

  • So who's sellin they glock cause that's a dream

  • Good video post. I like the grip reduction. Is that from Robar?

  • @dakine425 i love that .40 conversion barrel you have. I have g20c and am looking at lwd 4.60" conversion but like the compensation. Would it be possible for you to shoot a video at the range with the conversion barrel?

  • G20 is my all time favorite gun! Your grip reduction is awesome. Who did it, again?

You mentioned reloads. A 9x25 Dillon is a hoot to shoot! Lone Wolf makes a fine conversion barrel for the G20. Good video!

  • @1Shiznit You can still use the stock spring for the conversion barrel, and as for the 45acp slide all you need is the G21 magazine

  • nice video!!!!!!! check out drsjr1969 for 10mm ammo testing in his glock 20.

  • @MrGlocknload Thanks will definitely check it out

  • Great videos!!! Thanks for posting. Very informative. I also have a glock 20 and am looking for a holster that will accommodate a lite or laser. What model is your safari land? Thanks....................

  • i dont think they carry that 10 to 40 ported barrel anymore :-(.

  • @ultrabeastmode wow yea just checked yea didn't see it listed anymore.

  • @dakine425 now if you want to buy a ported 10 to 40 barrel on lone wolf, you will have to purchase an extended barrel for 124.95 then have ported through their website for 69.95. I think it kinda sucks that they're doing it this way now, when it use to be 124.95 all together.

  • Nice video. Just curious does the conversion barrels fit the 20 short frame? From my understanding just the handle is a little slimmer on the sf vs standard correct?

  • @psylas01 The upper on the G20 standard and SF is the same. The short frame is actually the same width, just slimmer from front to back of the grip.

  • 10 mm isn't that much more expensive than .45 acp and it's fairly easy to find on the web if you know where to look just wanted to point that out.

  • if you have a gun by you then why have an alarm?

  • @Cr8er1 lets just say its a warm summer night, your chillin out to some good music at your comp but you have to keep your music low because your wife, GF, companion etc... is asleep, so you decide to put some headphones in, well lets just say your music is loud in your ears and someone breaks in quietly enough for said companion and you to not hear their entrance and boom, both your lives are comprimised because you DIDNT have an alarm

  • Thank you for this video. This Video alone was the reason I bought my 20C. thanks man

  • @johnnyvt9 Thanks, the 20c is a great gun. the ports really do make a difference. I've fired both side by side. plus it make a pretty cool fireball. you should try to do a video in an indoor range, make a pretty cool flash

  • why do you need a gun beside you when u go to sleep???

    im interested to know....

  • @tbish90 it's just my comfort level. like having a security blanket:) i guess for it's the same as asking why have an alarm system for a house.

  • @tbish90 Same reason we wear our seat belts when we're in a car; shit happens..

  • Does the standard glock 20 spring assembly work just fine? I'm thinking of changing from my glock 19's, to a more "flexible" glock such as the 40 caliber and the 10mm. The 19's don't allow for many conversion options... they are either 9mm or maybe 22lr. I like that the 10mm can be altered for so many different calibers. it is a big gun, though!

  • @BfSkinnerPunk the stock spring works fine. I would go with the Glock 23, then you can have the option of a 9mm or 357sig or 22lr conversion.

  • I don't have any trouble at all finding 10mm brass. You can order super high quality brass from Starline or DoubleTap. They will last you through 10-25 reloads, even if you load them hot. Of course they last much longer if you use an aftermarket 10mm barrel.

I've been using the same 500 cases I got from starline for the past 2.5 years and I still haven't had to trim them yet!

  • @KurNorock I do have a bunch of starline brass and they are great. An aftermarket barrel is needed for range use to prevent the "glock bulge"

  • @dakine425 - I really think that whole "Glock Bulge" thing is over hyped. Sure, the aftermarket barrel does reduce the stress on your brass, but I shot many cases through my factory Glock barrel several times and still use them. And yes I load my rounds hot, some of my friends say they are a little too hot! lol.

So yeah, I have aftermarket barrels in both my Glocks to help with case life, but I still don't think it was all that necessary. Hickok45 uses the stock barrel in his Glocks...

  • @KurNorock Agreed, I think for casual range use the stock barrel is good enough. I haven't seen anyone using 10mm in high round count matches. Do you actually load them hot or standard actual 10mm specs and not the watered down factory loads. Even though i reload i still load light.

  • @dakine425 - No I load pretty hot. Probably a little hotter than the original Norma load. The way I see it loading the 10mm light is a waste of the calibers potential. If I wanted a light 10mm load I would have just bought a .40S&W.

My current target load is a 180g FMJ chronoed at 1390fps. By comparison DoubleTap has a 180g JHP at 1350fps.

  • @KurNorock Nice what powder do you use? how many grn? and what bullet? I.E. need recipe:)

  • @dakine425 - I use AA#9 powder, 180g Berry's plated bullets, and CCI large pistol primers (not magnum).

I started with 14.5 grains of powder in my first loads, but I found I was pushing the plated bullets too fast (coming apart in air!) so I slowed them down a tad and settled on 13.9 grains of powder. Still getting great speed though.

Start lower of course and be careful you don't pack the powder when you seat your bullets. AA#9 has a lot of power but it takes up a lot of room in the brass.

  • Fantasic video. Very helpful for me because I just ordered a Glock 20. I reload (and have the dies) and want to shoot .40 and .45. (Hey..it's only money). I might even get a .50GI conversion...for fun. Thanks for the information and the links.!

  • at first did you think stuff was going to be easy to find because I don't see much logic in buying a big ol' 10mm if you just wanted it to be a 40, why not just get the 40 in the first place?

  • @TheDodgeChallenger I knew about the availability of the 10mm and i wanted the 10mm. Getting the .40s&w conversion barrel was just another option/accessory for my G20. Just like getting the G21T upper. Sort of like getting 3 guns in one.

  • @dakine425 Oh I thought that you only used the .40 and .45 it makes a lot of sense know.

  • Comment removed

  • very interesting, i've seen modified guns, but never to this extent. I would like to know two things what was the trigger pull force before you switched to 3.5 and did you give any specifics for the grip reduction or you just said get rid of the hump?

  • @ConservativeGangsta The trigger pull weight is still the stock 5lbs. And for the grip reduction i asked for the aggressive grip texture and extended beavertail

  • good info. Thanks for taking the time

  • @chuckB617 Thanks for taking the time to watch

  • Great video...thanks..!..

  • @Bobeeg Thank you for watching

  • good class on the conversion kit's for glocks easy to understand and easy to follow good job dude you are knowledgable.

  • @shootload1911 Thanks, not a class more like a show and tell:) Thanks for checking out the video

  • the 10mm is more powerful than the 45acp.?

  • @kenyata Yup, it might be a smaller diameter but it has more energy than the 45acp

  • @kenyata the thing about .45 acp is that it's a solid big slow moving bullet but it will knock down any one even people on drug's etc.. it's a very very good self defense or home defense round the 10mm is excellent too and has more energy, since it has more powder however it's moving alot faster than the .45 acp so it doesnt have that THUD knock down power like the .45 acp does but both rounds are man stoppers for sure and they are both very lethal

  • Thank you for the education great vid.

  • @CheapandCheaper Thanks for watching

  • Is that a Robar extended beavertail?

  • @mclellan3 No it is the extended beavertail option that Dale at gripreductions does.

  • @77blitzwing Thanks, yea the 6" G20 barrels are popular.

  • @77blitzwing The complete 45 upper is about the same price as a used G22 rtf. I just wanted it because i could use the same frame for my G20. I'm planning on getting a G20 6" barrel also.

  • how much is the complete 45 conversion?

  • @ultrabeastmode The complete slide with all the internal parts almost came up to 500.00.

  • IT'S UGLY it looks better stock

  • @mattyork89 the modifications are definitely not for everyone

  • wussup DK...ay How do these lone wolf barrels feel when ur shooting?? Im thinking of getting a 357sig barrel for my Glock 23. just curious cuz im a bit skeptical of getting anything aftermarket for my glock cuz u know how Glocks dont like to be modded LOL :P

  • Sup man, the lone wolf barrel conversions are great. Feels like a factory barrel, drops right in. I had a 357sig barrel for my G22 and it worked great. Some people actually get after market barrels because of the fully supported chamber.

  • Thats wussup. Yea i hear the 40calibr glocks do excellent with 357sig and usually require that nothin be converted except the barrel and i also hear tat u can use the 40cal mags with the 37sig ammo too...is that true????

  • Yup you can use the same magazines, I would suggest though to maybe mark one magazine because you don't want to mix em up and shoot a 357sig in your stock barrel.

  • Ahh ok thanx for the info. and yea im gonna have to designate a mag or two just for the 357sig

  • It does pretty much cost about the same as a full pistol. The reason i went this route is because there isn't a comparable size slide for the glock and also i wanted to use the same frame that i already had.

  • stock mag works with the conversion! sick... i'm liking this 10mm more and more.

  • Yup, all you need is the conversion barrel to start shooting .40s&w out of the G20

  • Good video, you just confirmed my choice to buy a 20, thanks.

  • Thanks, if the size doesn't bother you(get the SF model) then it's an excellent gun. Just remember finding 10mm ammunition might be difficult and expensive.

  • Comment removed

  • Why do people use that Griptape grip ... they make alot more comfortable options for handle grips ... its like a squeegy material .. its real nice ... alot better than damn skateboard tape pahahah

  • So can u shoot 357 sig?

  • There is a conversion barrel for 357sig. You can use the same magazine.

  • If I have the glock 20sf will i be able to put any g21 slide on it? or is there a different slide for the slim frame?

  • It's all the same, the 20sf,21sf,20,21 frames all can use each others upper.

  • Question I heard u say in the video that it is kinda of hard to find the 10mm and range ammo. WHat about the 357 sig ammo is that very expensive and hard to find as well.

  • very nice bedside tool

  • thanks, i think so too. wee bit too big for conceal carry though

  • Was the barrel change actually necessary?

  • Yes it is, even though the 10mm barrel can chamber the .40 it is bigger. I would not shoot .40s&w out of a 10mm barrel

  • Hey post some videos with you shooting the 40SW. I just picked up a G20 and I am waiting my LW barrel. It's taking forever!!! Any accuracy changes with the 40SW barrel?

When you reload your 10mm, you load the lite or full FBI load?

    Thanks for the info.

  • If i have time i'll try to do a range video for the LWD barrel. I haven't noticed any accuracy changes in my opinion. I don't load full power, roughly medium. Definitely more than .40s&w loads. That's the beauty of reloading with 10mm, wide range of loads.

  • will .45 shells fit in the 21 mag????

  • Yup the 45 cartridges fit in the Glock 21 magazines

  • so to have this shoot a .45 i dont need any conversions or anything like that it will fire 45's with no work required?

  • In order to shoot 45acp out of a Glock 20, you need a Glock 21 upper and Glock 21 magazines. The frame of the gun stays the same

  • it is hard to find brass for 10mms, but that just means u save ur own and reuse it again, or find empty's on a shooting range and clean the shells, then reload

  • yea i shoot 5 at a time so i can look for it after.

  • I wish the 10mm glocks came also with a long slide like the g34 and g35. Any ideas?

  • There is a 10mm slide like the one i use for the 45acp conversion. Lone Wolf Dist. makes them and also makes it in 6", check the link in the description.

  • i was between the glock 20 and an XDm .40... i think my mind may be made up...

this is informative as hell. Answered questions i didn't even know i had. Thanks for this video.

  • The only drawback of the G20 or G21 is the size, it is pretty thick. I would suggest going to the gunshop putting them side by side and feeling each one. Whichever one feels good for you. They are both good.

  • i was plotting on going the SF route though. I want something in 10mm, but don't much like paying for the full Norma 10's. So the .40 barrel is a major plus. Was also thinking of going factory compensated until it was mentioned that the flash from the comp affected night vision. But i figure that won't make much difference if i put a light on it.

with all that in mind, i have a multipurpose nasty self defense carry gun.

You should work for glock. You just sold me on those, and i wasn't a fan

  • That's pretty cool about the LW slide. Didn't know they made anything like that!

  • Glocks are very modular. A glock 22 can be converted to shoot 22lr,9mm,40s&w,357sig, with either different uppers or conversion barrels.

  • Sorry, dany, I misread your question. The gun will not fully chamber a 10mm round in a .40 barrel because, as was said below, the chamber is too short for the round. You probably could, if your life was in danger and you needed to, use a .40 round in a 10mm barrel, but don't be too surprised if the gun explodes.

  • Do NOT use .40 in a 10mm barrel. The chamber in the 10mm barrel is longer than the one in a .40 barrel to accept the longer round. You'll have extra space between the bullet and the rifling, and could cause damage to your gun.

  • Agreed, get a conversion barrel. Better safe than sorry

  • Will the .40 barrel accept 10mm rounds? In other words, is it possible to make a catastrophic mistake by using the wrong barrel?

  • .40s&w barrel will not accept 10mm rounds. The chamber is too short.

  • Thank you. From other responses it seems clear the reverse IS possible.

I would not be happy with such a possibility for errors. Murphy's law and all that...

  • Great Vids! I haven't been shooting my gen. 1 G-20... Now its coming out of the safe! I have a LaserMax internal designator. Do you have to replace the guide rod & spring to convert to .45 ACP?

  • Don't have to replace the guide rod and spring, i use the same stock one for both. Don't know about the Lasermax though. Is it a captured spring? if not then i don't see the harm in trying different spring weights.

  • Thanks. The LaserMax uses the stock guide spring.

  • My bad, it's a gen. 2. Google: "Glock Serial Number Research Project (New)" at Glock Talk for all the info.

  • whats the model on that holster? cant seem to find one that will fit a light

  • It's a Safariland Model 5187, there's a link in the description on where i got it.

  • I was told the G21 and G20 had slight differences and the slides could not be interchangeable?

  • The barrels are not inter changeable, but the complete uppers can fit either frames.

  • Ooooh...that's what it is. Complete slides-yes...just barrels-no. I still think i will buy the 10mm as a complete gun. That G20c factory comped 10mm has been a wish of mine for a while now....

I have a 19c and it feels like i am shooting a 22lr. I can only imagine how great a comped 10mm will be!!!

    Thanks for setting me straight!!!

  • G20C is a good find if you find one. You'll get less muzzle flip but you'll get a nice flash. You can still get a G20-40 barrel conversion and still use the same slide

  • Excellent video man. I own a Glock 20 Short Frame and love it. Thanks for the .40 and .45 info. I didn't know this was possible.

  • Anytime, look into getting the 40 conversion barrel. Very economical.

  • Very nice Video I did not know what the conversion and thanks for the websites stars

  • Thanks, i hope you got some useful information from them

  • Nice glock, i like the versatility. I have a Glock 21c and im currently debating going to a company called KKM Precision to get one of their stainless Glock 20 conversion barrels and a glock 20 mag so that I can shoot .45 ACP and 10mm. The whole deal would be about 200$ and its like having a whole new gun.

  • Thanks for watching, the KKM barrels are excellent. Check the forums for people selling their G20 magazines.

  • what magazine/clip you use for the .45 ACP upper?

  • Glock 21 magazine

  • very well done. 5 stars

  • Toda Raba, I enjoy watching your videos

  • Thank you for posting. Excellent demonstration and nice choice of accessories.

  • I can't find the 21 upper part or parts listed on the lone wolf site... help !!

  • I put a link on the sidebar for the 21T upper

  • Nice vid and setup as well! I really like the fact that the Glock is very versatile - you buy one gun but with very simple aftermarket parts and a little more $ spent you can make something that can shoot many other calibers, helps out now with ammo being hard to find some times. I have to admit I like it!

  • Thanks. The one thing great about the Glock platform is its versatility. with a Glock 17/22 frame you're able to convert it to shoot .22lr/9mm/40s&w/357sig

  • I love 10mm to. The only problem i have when shooting it with the 40cal. conversion barrel is with the fit of the bullets in the magazine. If they r not seated all the way back they jam up. Not a reliable life choice but its good for plinking. Also u must be LEO or ur magazines are illeagal under federal law for someone who is not LEO to own. I am telling. Just kidding man!! U can get some that dont say that shit u know. Some states can get u for that. MA,NY,CA

  • Yea the conversion barrel is just so i can shoot more with the frame. Not going to use the setup for any defensive situations. And as for the magazines they're legal.

  • Law Enforcement mags for your Glock.Thats cool that you carry a 10mm,I wished I could carry a 10mm on patrol,I carried a G19 good gun but R&P's only allowed that gun for duty use.Very few agencies carry the 10mm due to the 40 S&W popularity. The 10mm is close 41 magnum ballistics.Double Tap ammo is good ammo for real 10mm performance.Federal loads there 10mm to 40 S&W level which is rather weak.

  • Another good alternative that some departments have adopted is the .357sig. It's a very good round but expensive to practice with. Hopefully your agency lets you have a rifle or shotgun for duty.

  • Texas DPS dropped the 45ACP because of very poor performance with the Sig 220 loaded with 230 Winchester SXT.DPS switched ammo still no luck the 45 ACP was dropped. The 357 Sig is working out to be an outstanding performer.

  • What pound recoil spring are you using for 40 S&W? Very nice setup bro!!

  • I'm using a 15lb spring. Never had a problem with feeding.

  • Comment removed

  • Very good video. Shows the usefulness of the Glock as a platform for other calibers and applications. Nice magazine holders too, for $16.00 that is a great price for what you are getting.
