  • Burt Ward did train in martial arts. His audition for the Batman series involved exhibiting martial arts skills.

  • Is that Alex Rocco on the left at :59??

  • @Boltmark Yeah it is, he's also doing a voice or the Batman: Year One animated movie coming up. He plays the character "Block" in the episode I put together in this video as well as "A Piece of the Action" also with Kato and Green Hornet.

  • EPIC

  • Come on the end was like my school's "fights"

    - Hey what'cha think you're doing-

-Whatever I want, why, do you have any trouble chum-

    -It's my place, my rules-

-Oh really so lets see who is stronger eh-

    -come on uh uh -

    - yeah yeah- But anything happens

  • Damn you and your hostage taking Harcourt Finton Mudd!

I wanted a fight to the finish here! :-(

  • Now we know why robin was getting his ass kick like that he was trained by Chuck Norris.

  • @CoolerDave1 Nice

  • Bruce Lee = TOTAL awesomeness

  • The stand off between Batman and the Hornet was bad writing, the Green Hornet should have been no match for Batman. It should have been Hornet beats Robin, Batman beats Hornet, Kato beats Robin, then Batman versus Kato.

  • but the green hornet and green mosquito are good guys

  • In reality, it should've been Bruce Lee vs Batman.

  • Bruce would kick every single person ass in that room!!

  • i can tell who wins BRUCE LEE

  • Boy, Burt Ward really earned his $175.00 a week when he got beat up by Bruce Lee. Would you like to get beat up by Bruce Lee for $175.00? Essentially, he got beat up twice, once by Bruce Lee and once by ABC.

  • wrong its bruce lee vs robin you dick

  • On the subject of Burt Ward, he got the role of Robin by actually doing a martial arts demonstration. (Ironic, since we always, rightly, think of Bruce Lee as Kato during these two show's runs.) Yet, to the best of my knowledge, the only martial arts type of moves he ever did was two judo like throws in the Batman movie made during the height of the tv show's popularity.

  • omg* look at how fast bruce moves @ 0:47...

  • Poor robin lol.

  • That was no Mexican standoff, Kato could have whooped Bats and Robin. lol

  • @MISANTHROPY647 Yeah right

  • Robin is a wuss.

  • bruce lee really kicks ass a tribute to the master

  • Robin got his ass beat

  • kato the best fighter there

  • Didn't know Green Hornet did a crossover in Batman universe...

  • @hanchiman It's odd that Batman and the Green Hornet are in the same universe as far as the Batman TV series is concerned, because in the Green Hornet series that was running at the same time, it was shown that this Batman series was a TV series in that universe (there's an episode of the Green Hornet where one of the thugs for the villain of the day was clearly watching the Batman TV show, as it showed the Batcave and was playing the Batman theme song).

  • @Vlorsutes

Man, trying to think of this give make your head spin, then again, probably back then nobody really "questioned" logic after all "so-long-it-is-entertaining-who cares" back then. By the way, Kato was more kickass than Green Hornet and actually have fought against Batman while Green Hornet against Robin.

  • You should have called the video "Bruce Lee vs The Caped Crusader." No way in hell this version of Batman is anything close to dark.

  • 0.41 WHAT WE HAVE HERE? A MEXICAN STAND OFF!

  • bruce lee looked like the only one who knew what he was doing. hardly a Mexican standoff. KO Robin, KO Batman, let green hornet take the credit.

  • lol

Robin doesnt have a chance with Bruce Lee, even if Lee were blindfold or handcuff...and even that, Bruce will win xD

  • Kato would beat the living hell out of Robin. Enough said.

  • hahaha....some one should so recreat this for fun with the current batman and pay jet li to wear Kato's uniform

  • Bruce Lee > Bruce Wayne

  • A Mexican Stand Off

  • not the dark knight, more like the faggot knight

  • Cato VS Robin una pelea muy desigual segun yo

  • While Burt Ward was no march for Lee (I suspect very few people on Earth--then or now--would be), he was no pushover.

Before he saw his 20th birthday, Ward was a champion wrestler and black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Again, could Lee take him? Undoubtedly.

But with the near religious fervor that Bruce Lee pursued his own fitness, I'd have to believe he'd have respect for Ward's accomplishments as well.

  • haha kato would annihalate robin

  • LOL what is a mexican stand off must be Mexicans when they turn yellow belly

  • lol robin got his ass kicked

  • full episode?

  • @jackiechan511 He showed up in four different Batman tv-series episodes. I have them on my hard drive but I'm sure you can find them on google somewhere

  • @homiegesus wasnt it six?

  • @jediharold12 Meant to put three when I had made that post. It's "The Spell of Tut" "A Piece of the Action" and "Batman's Satisfaction"

  • @jediharold12 cool

  • @jackiechan511 fuck Jackie Chan. Bruce Lee would kill him.

    Oh and fuck you. <3

  • @ogpimpkin699 Why dont you fuck you yourself. If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say it

  • bruce lee could wiped out all of them

  • Bruce leee the best ....Batman and Robin sucks....

  • i smell fukkin haters of bruce lee how ridiculious :DD

  • Oh yeah? well in real life Burt Ward would have kicked Bruce Lee's ass and send him packing back to Hong Kong. Yeah, so take that! BANG! POW! SMASH!

  • @Fooblestheclown he did, twice

  • @Fooblestheclown

    Lulz.

  • hahahahaha omg their OUTFIT AHAHAHAHH! :)

  • Robin's fighting isn't nearly as bad as Batman's. I'd rather get hit by one of Batman's wussy jabs than one of Robin's haymakers any day. 0:26 shows just how far he swings that arm back. Wouldn't want to get hit with it.

However, back to the real point at hand... I'm glad that Bruce stood up for himself and protested the producer's idea of Robin winning. It says a lot about his status and his pride in his accomplishments. RIP Bruce. We miss you.

  • A lot of people don't realize that Bruce and Burt were friends. True, Bruce could take Burt easily, but Burt said "Bruce Lee and I lived in the same condominium complex. We were friends before he got the role of Kato. Bruce and I used to spar & practice together. You know he was a fantastic martial artist. Probably more responsible than anyone in North America for bringing the martial arts. On BATMAN we did have our fight and in fact that was Bruce Lee's first televised fight seen was with me"

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr Bruce and Burt may have been friends, but Bruce almost never did the main crossover episode, because in the original script, and this is according to Van (The Green Hornet) Williams, Robin beats Kato. Bruce saw this, flipped out, and walked off the set, saying there's no way he, or anyone, would believe he would lose to Robin. He wouldn't come back until the script was changed, and what you see now, is what it was changed to.

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr Van and Adam are longtime friends too. I read somewhere they live close by to each other.

  • @Scorp308 I didn't know that. That is very cool! Thanks for sharing that with us.

  • Robin got his faggot ass spin kicked over a table.

    Kato > Robin.

    R.I.P bruce lee.

  • Bruce Lee would have kicked Adam wests ass, Micheal Ketons ass, Jack nicholess ass, Val kilmers ass, George clooneys as, Christan Bails ass, Micheal Cains ass,Heath Ledgars ass, Arnolds ass, Tommy Lee Jones ass, Jim carreys ass, gary oldmans ass, cesar romones ass, Mark hamils ass, Kevin Conroys ass, Brandon Rauths ass, And Tom Will never be superman wellings ass all in one day. Not to mention 1,000 Burt Ward's Ass'ssss........................

  • Actually robin was suppose to be beat up kado all the time. But Bruce said that was BS cause who would believe a small teen like Burt, who never really beat anyone, could beat up kado, a martial arts master. So they had a draw.

  • @Gheleye Didn't look like a draw to me it looked like Robin got his ass beat. He only hit Kado one hehe. Bruce Lee's Awesome. :D

  • the man who played robin challenged Bruce Lee by saying he can't fight in real life and by saying racist comments to him. obviously Bruce kicked his ass!!

  • There's a picture of Bruce Lee out there signing autograph for some kid while on the set of THE GREEN HORNET; I've always wondered who he is and where about of him; that autograph is worth something if it's still out there somewhere!

  • A typical TV super heroe viewer was probably structed with great delight when Kato came into view; even by 1964, the most martial arts America was familiared with was karate; to see Bruce performing those fancy kung fu moves was totally "alien technology" for many!!!

  • Chief O' Hara woulda kicked all their asses.

  • Well story/fiction wise he was fighting Kato not Bruce Lee, so in fantasy, yeah Robin probably is a match for Kato but of course he can't beat Bruce Lee in real life, thats just silly.

  • @shoNuuff I doubt that one. Robin was a teenager that could barely hang with batman, Kato was a Kung-Fu master, he woulda whiped the floor with Robin. He might of even beaten Batman in hand-to-hand combat...

  • In real life Burt Ward would have kicked Bruce Lee's ass.

  • @Fooblestheclown Yeah . . . Right. That's why Burt ward is still considered a Martial Arts Icon-Right? Lee would have stomped that twerp in his sleep.

  • @TheKahliff I hope you realize Mr.Kahliff......that I was just kidding....

  • @Fooblestheclown yeah robin was giving these little baby fist, how embarrasing

  • well bruce did say he wasnt at his best in this

  • muy poco papel para una estrella como para al dragon..

  • Come on.

It was Kato vs Robin not Bruce Lee vs Bert Ward. Both superhero sidekicks

  • @timotyhmit Bruce Le is a real super hero

  • Batman's Fat.

  • to be a like a comic book, daaaaaaa

  • Nothing Dark about this knight.

  • you're right, but neither was Batman for twenty years before the tv series...

  • That's funny because we all know Robbin would not have landed one punch on Bruce Lee.

  • @JazzyZenBrotha:it's funny because NO ONE can land a hand on Bruce Lee.

  • Watch Bruce move at 0.50, astounding.

  • Originally, Robin was a trapeeze artist, as a kid! This means split second timing, great speed, fluid, quick movements, acrobatic strength, etc., and that was before he met The Batman. The real Robin vs. the real Kato? Tough call.

  • Yeah but if we consider the Kato played by Bruce Lee....then Kato > Superman.

  • @JU8788 I'd still say Kato by a long shot.

  • It's obvious that Kato and the Hornet are pulling their punches, otherwise it would be a quick double knockout.

  • It's infuriating to see Burt Ward even mime striking Kato/Bruce Lee. I realize it was choreographed but it's so absurd!

  • I agree. Robin should NOT have been even able to land one blow. It was bad enough that the original script required Kato to actually LOSE to Robin but this is still disturbing to watch.

  • Agreed as well.

  • Well keep in mind Bruce lee was pretty obscure in America in those days. If Lee had been a star in America back then he would have won easily.

  • @swordhunter12 actually this wasn't half his strength, I watched the whole episode, and GH told kato to tone down the kung fu, should they end up fighting batman and robin, that pretty much implies that had Kato didn't hold back robin would be in the trauma unit for the rest of his life.
