  • FUUUUNKY!

  • I was only a baby when this came out but my older brother (another massive Who fan) bought it and played it all the time. The grey vinyl made it so different from all the other records we had, and the cover art with the galaxy inside the head really caught my imagination. I literally grew up listening to this track (and watching DW). Love it! :)

  • Hi Flicky Hecky. I would love to know how the record shaped your childhood. Best Don Gallacher - producer Dr Who - Mankind

  • Fantastico sound Disco.

  • It is brilliant.

  • Oh no way man! haha.. I also still have this on 12" blue vinyl, I wonder if its worth anything now? :)

  • @polarsequence i have it on yellow vinyl witch is unherd of. must be worth something.

  • On Friday 13th November 1978. I set out at 8am with 7' and 12" Blue copies. On my way back to North London at 10pm that night I stopped off at the The Birds Nest disco on Muswell Hill. Taking my 12" copy I got into the DJ's booth and I pointed to my copy. He gave me the thumbs up and reached down to a row of records and pulled out HIS copy! From Label to wholesaler to DJ to punters listening in less tha a day. That's when I knew it was going to be a hit! Best Don Gallacher - Producer

  • @dongee2247 They may of only been session musicians...but this record shaped my childhood and turned me into a fully fleged Doctor Who fan!

  • what's between the cyberman and the ice warrior, behind troughton at @0:23? is that a monster?

  • @WhoBoy93 It's "Bubbles" The Test card clown , as seen on Test Card F, J & W - I stuck him in for a giggle.

  • Funk city)

  • I had to take four trips to the record shop in 1978 to buy this. Called, it was in stock, wouldn't reserve it, got there (had to walk 25 minutes -- I was 14 at the time) and they were all gone by the time I got there! It was always out of stock because it was so popular. Massive disco hit at the time. I finally got it on yellow viynl at my fourth attempt.

  • Mines only 7".

  • @Keith2855 nm mate you can proabably buy an extended version on the net somewhere.

  • Where's that image with Pertwee, Baker and Davison in the back of a car from?

  • @BurningPotatoFilms I would presume it's a publicity shot from "The Five Doctors" - except that is not really Tom Baker, but the Madame Tussaud's wax figure of him in his last season outfit, as he chose to not return to the show for the episode.

  • @BurningPotatoFilms My apologies - I didn't know which one you were talking about until I saw this again. It's not the one I thought was the still they did for "Five Doctors". This one with the trio is actually I believe a car ad. They were doing a parody of the common joke used about the TARDIS exterior versus interior.

  • @BurningPotatoFilms A VW newspaper ad from 1994/5

  • i have the blue record

  • wow the intro sounds like a cross between Duran Durans Planet Earth intro and Rio, then it goes all rose royce on us. The 70s must have been weird

  • @18jemini Well, Planet Earth & Rio were the 1980's. & yes the 70's were wierd - better than nowadays , thats for sure.

  • Wow what a classic i played this so much when i was a kid i wore the record out lol i have it on twelve inch vynil now and am still a massive dr who fan....cool

  • I remember listening to this when I was around 10. It sounds more like Hi NRG than disco though, especially with the drums.

  • I've been looking for this record for a while!

    Thanx for sharing!!! :)

  • bloody hell this takes me back i was only 8 years old can remember my dad buying me the 7"version and still to this day i'm a doctor who fan great stuff

  • I have got the blue vinyl version

  • love it

  • Can anyone identify what they're saying from 4:57 to 5:00?

  • at first he says "im a time lord" then he says "im the last of the time lords" i think

  • I doubt it'd be 'Last of the time lords' because he's only the last in the new (2005+) Series. In the classic (1963 - 1989 + 1996 tvm) Gallifrey was still very much a thriving planet

  • oh, sorry! i didnt check the date this was made!

  • So K9 can whip a Daleks butt then?

  • I have this 45RPM....LMAO It sux.
