@mrsirks Exactly. I agree with you! It's as though everyone around the world has a brainwashed mindset that New York is such a great place. Nothing attractive about it, disgusting people, dirty places, dying (or already dead) homeless on every sidewalk (VERY depressing), overexpensive and not even worth half the money... I could go on and on and on!
im from a small twon in ohio and my girl friends dad lives in nyc and he wants to move in with her dad and she wants me to move with her. ill be 18 in a few more days (Jan. 28th) and her dad said he could hook me up with a good job and a good apartment. do you think moving there is a good choice? i really wanna do something amazing in my life to help change the lives in the city that i am currently in and life's around the world but im not sure how yet lol
Ah man I want to move out of my one-horse town to a big city for some strange reason recently. Probably because I watch so much T.V. that since I was the age of 12 I could name all the "Parts of Newyork", and it is the most talked about city in the world. Also I could walk down the street and bump in to a guy, and incoherently scream "Hey! I'm walking here!" and everyone would be fine with it because I'm a Newyorker. :P lol *New-York,New-York, New-York-City*
Your a very brave soul.I know i could never jump from such a beautiful, peaceful place like Arizona,to the busy,over-crowded,noisy,congested city like NY.Y. I never liked cities,so props to you for giving it a go!
That's a good video. I like the way that you started out in Arizona with all of your boxes and then went through the airplane, taxi and finally the streets of NYC. Good documentary, you made us feel that we were moving with you. Good Luck in the Big Apple.
I just did this exact thing 7 and a half months ago now. Expect I drove there from Iowa. Had wanted to live here since I was 16 and figured it's now or never. It's quite the amazing, crazy, wild experience moving here and I am so happy I did. Hope everything is going well for you out here! This video took me back to the looooong drive, the apartment hunting, job hunting on Craigslist for days, etc. etc. etc. Crazy how so many things can change in such a short time :)
I'm 20 and decided to make the leap from Huntington Beach, CA to NYC next year. I'm super excited and have never even lived on my own before! Huge risk and out of my comfort zone but if I don't do it now I'll have to wait a long time to do it later.
@Trogidy49 your gonna regret it ...im now leaving nyc to l.a ...life is to fucking hard and i did 5 years in fucking college and guess fucking what i barley take vacations here is all work living in l.a is so much better i won't even need a vacation i'll just go to the beach after work go hiking in the mountains ...over here the summers are full of crime, they close all the beaches, lakes by september and then from like october to may we hibernate from that cold :) this is a shit hole a big slum
@micknamer just because it didn't work out for you doesn't mean that others will have a negative experience. l.a. is no joke...the same things that go on in NY go on in L.A. there is just more room to do it in. so lots of luck and remember you can't run from yourself.
@29psalm i mean financially is good so thats good ...but then there is no where in the city where i can take some time to relax at a beach or something something !! here is clubbing , drinking at a bar (optional) and maybe going to museums and tourist sights and thats it to this city
I like your NYC move memoir video here. I moved to NYC (from the midwest and south over three years ago. NYC has a different beat than the rest of the U.S. I really appreciate the spirit of this video. A lot of NYC transplants go through the same range of experiences, shock value, hopes, disappointments, etc. "Moving to NYC" stories are a significant part of NYC's cultural fabric. I enjoyed comparing/contrasting your story against my own tale.
@punkrockpub it's my dream too, but I've got some impediments, I'm European but I love adventures, people, and the whole world. what would be my life worth if I didn't try to make it better?
O. m.G you just motivated me even more to move there. I am alreadt trying to find apartment. Im moving out of my confront zone too. Even thou i feel litte crazy to doing that but i want to live my dreams.. Thank you for your video keep makeing more
