Ouch. Your playing was fantastic from a technical stand-point, but it sounds as if you're playing in the wrong key. Had the backing track been correct, I'm sure this would have been an ideal improvisation. Perhaps you should post a correction video?
I bet other people have commented on this, but your bends are way off and you're not even in the right key man. can't you hear how off you are? 2:31-2:38 ish to be specific.
Sorry mate, nice try, and you seem to have some nice speed, but the tuning sounds way off, as do your bends, and it doesnt sound like your trying to play along to the backing track, just random licks after another.
Start slow, take your time, hear the music, a good exercise, is to hum a lick and then try and play it, get those ears trained :)
i would suggest staying in key.. and tuning the guitar.. and to me it looked like you were going through different keys with only position one.. try position one in the key of Dm and learning the other 4 positions. it would sound 100 times better man.
Nice one Craig. A few notes out of place here and there, but like you said, it was a first take. But the riffs were really cool regardless. Along the lines of what Mojo said, everyone needs practice and criticism to get better. Stay classy. 8-)
Thanks a lot for watching and commenting man :) I appreciate it and take the comments on board and will start being more strict with myself when improvising :D
i agree. the beginning was just messing around with upper pentatonics, but then it sounded like he went to a d major then back to d pentatonics and back andforth and vice versa. although i will have to agree with mtto, i liked some of the riffs he was pulling off and keep working on it, you sound great!
Yeah, i generally tend to do this. I start with playing within the correct scales but then must loose concentration and just go off on one and play all over the place seeing what works and what doesn't. What i'm going to try to do is to have some improvisation sessions where i just use one or two shapes from a scale and stick with them and be strict with myself. I'll probably post some YouTube videos of it too to keep track of my progress with it :)
Cheers for the kind comment man! Haha i know what you mean about the facial expressions. I never used to think i did them until i started recording myself playing! If you want crazy guitar faces...watch Gary Moore. It's horrible, haha.
Keep working at it buddy, focus on the blues scales, and get those positions down. Once you get the positions down, practice crossing between them, it will help you lots! Cheers mate! ;-)
Thanks a lot mate, will do :) At the moment i'm working a lot on that sort of stuff slowly. Like...creating melodic solos and stuff rather than just fast. But i tried to mix both into this heh :) Cheers for the comment bro
omg, could you cut that emo hair-style, be rock or not be rock but don't be a disney little boy...
By the way, you need to work hard on your bends

the 3 notes that you let ring out for most of the song are the only notes that sound in key.

The hot rod tele is a great guitar and it does not deserve this...! Why would you buy a guitar like that? A 100$ jackson would be ideal for you.
