  • Sonic is still cool you dont see master chief getting songs made about him(yeah i went there)

  • Sega, please, oh PLEASE put this on the next Sonic compilation!

At first I thought "The same guys who did I'm Too Sexy did a song about SONIC? And an OFFICIAL one at that?" But after hearing it, I LOVE IT!

@Sonicthehedgehog765: It could be Metal Sonic, right?

  • I too remember the part of Hydrocity Zone that took place in a rundown industrial area

  • awesome RSF-song...should get SO much more views AND played on the radio...

  • So yeh this is an interesting way to market a new sonic game :P

  • SOMEONE GET THAT WOMAN SOME MORE LIPSTICK

  • Let's face it. The 90's were more fun and more crazy. Every thing's gone a bit shit now.

  • as weird as Sega was back in the day, and catchy as any sonic song...i miss when sonic was relevant =/ Now all they have doing music for sonic is some auto-tuned electro-pop bull shit

  • ddu ddu ddu ru ddu ddu ddu dduu ~

  • apparently they think sonic is a robot

  • Hmm...interesting how they made Sonic's perspective look.

  • @jedihunter176 Yes, Sonic is secretly the Terminator. Who'd have thunk?

  • Awesom-o

  • i've actually got this on cd :)

  • You know what the funny thing is? I first heard this song on a radio station dedicated to Sonic songs (and a few other SEGA games)

  • I always thought the 'Fay Wray's King Kong' comparison (at 1:24) was fairly ironic in a song about Sega's Sonic - you'd expect that kind of reference in a song about Nintendo's Donkey Kong.

Anyway, this music video was great.

The ending really foreshadowed what happened to Right Said Fred after 'Sex and Travel'...

"As we usher in the new, it's time to bury the *very* boring". (at 3:26)

I feel so old now.I was weaned on playing Shinobi, Sonic and Super Monaco GP...

  • Mario maybe had an acapella band do his music. Who does Sonic have? None other than the guys who did "I'm Too Sexy For My Shirt."

Sonic was so awesome back in the 90's.

  • Oh man, Pirate Sega. Dear christ.

  • Wow this is just amazing lolz :)

  • lol epic song

  • transvestites ftw

  • I think the actual line is "If you take a nap he'll spin attack"

  • Take a nap and spin attack!

  • HE'S A FLIPPIN' HRDGEHOG, OKAY!?

  • Anybody know which version of the song this is, cause there are more than one.

  • This the album version. There's a dance mix and an accapella version

  • Holy shit! I remember watching this on Sonic CulT back in 2007!

    Flippin' Peachy Keen!

  • As well as the girl at the end saying "He's a flippin' hedgehog, OK?", in the lyrics somewhere they say "There he is, Speedy Gonzales"

  • Around 0:45/.. "attitude and power sneakers". The sneakers are the item that gives you a speed boost

  • Oh My god I love this song. What a catchy beat How did this not get to number one? Got to be one of the most underated songs of the nineties!

  • I Like'd It More Than THe Oyher Music Video

  • Too hot for it to be implanted on S3&K itself.

  • used to have this on cassette have to dig it out and flog it to one of you

  • Its a shame Nintendo & Sony had to destroy SEGAS thunder. They we're on a roll at this time!

  • Actually, he was named on technicality, the girl at the end said:"He's a flippin' Hedgehog, man!"

And does it seem odd to you that a fat guy with a red stripe and dark glasses was chasing "Sonic" through-out the video? I'm thinking tribute to Dr. Eggman.

Very good video. where can i get it downloaded?

  • There's no "American accent". There are dozens of regions in the US with unique dialects and speech patterns, so there is no set accent for Americans.

You probably meant worst ENGLISH accent ever... which wouldn't be true either, because they ARE actually from England. The opening and closing scenes are obviously satire.

  • I agree with the tribute thing even though I prefer the name Robotnik over Eggman. I also think that the skinny little guy following him could be Snively (Robotnik's nephew for those of you who don't know). I mean, he only showed up in the Sonic comics and in Sonic SATAM, but still he was used and abused too, though much more then in this video.

Oh! And Sonic's name was said. At 2:36 he says, "Z-z-z-zoom Sonic... boom." Just thought I'd let you know.

    -Inumuttface-

  • Actually I think the fat guy was Sega's UK spokesperson back then.

  • (snickers) one: ilike eather Ivo Robotnic or Eggman myself. two: Think their spokesman purposefully looked like Eggman?

(Robotnic at the time, but he was accually falsely named Ivo Robotnic in the guides but Eggman in the games, the comics went off of the guide)

  • And if you go back to the old Saturday AM Sonic the Hedgehog Series, his name is Dr. Julian Ivo Robotnik...

  • good song, but deeply dippy is well more catchy

  • Anyone tell me how to download this?

  • WOOO HOOOOOOO this is STILL the BIZZO!!!!!!!!!! Just wondering-----

Is it lightning----- is it thunder?

  • Such an awesome song. I wish I heard this song before.

  • supoerb

  • Never saw the video for this song very catchy..DO ME A FAVOUR, PLUG ME IN TO A SEGA.. SONIC RULES

  • thanks for posting this video!!!

  • Yikes, this song grows on me.

Just how much of this song really references Sonic? Anyone got the lyrics?

  • You can view the lyrics on Sonic Retro (I'd post a URL but YouTube won't let me). Just do a search with the song's name.

  • The phrase "to be this good" was Sega UK's ad slogan at the time, so that's yet another reference.

  • This was from around the time SEGA was doing the "Pirate" ads. That skull and crossbones character you see at the start and end was kinda the UK ad mascot

  • "Apparently they're the "Too Sexy For My Shirt" guys. And apparently, back in 1994, Sega let them use Sonic prominently in their music video"

I think it's actually Sega that asked RSF to be in the music video. The fat guy with the microphone was the star of Sega UK's commercials at the time, and the skull appeared in the adverts too.

It's also not THAT weird that Right Said Fred were in it, back then they were pretty famous in Britain with a string of big hits.

  • This song is also on their 1993 album "sex and travel". almost unrecognisable though

  • uhuh, I got that one

  • I agree I was going to get a download of this but the album version sounds rubbish. However I used to have Now 27 and this version was on that (typically I dont have it now)

  • "an ithy scratch you'll get it again" ?? i don't get it, still catchy though. i wonder when that site is coming back up, he he'd get the hard drive on monday and it is now past the NEXT monday... oh well, i'll just have to watch this til it comes back

  • "An itch you scratch again and again"

Anyway, it DID come back up! ...but it went down again this morning. :\

  • He is a wonderman...

  • HAHAHAHA!!!!!

  • Catchy. Thanks for posting, I was wondering what the hell that was on the Cult's site.

  • frightening...

  • This is way better than that "I wanna have your babies" song.

  • Yeah, the whole Hydrocity thing is strange... Though I doubt that Hydrocity was once actually going to be a Chemical Plant-look alike.
