Mai is a goddess of hotness, and therefore she was made SNK's sex symbol. But I think that she really needs some more damaging moves in this game. I mean, I know it's when you do her combos that she's potentially dangerous and stuff, but she looks weak if you try to go all out with her, and her recoveries when her moves are blocked take a lot of time. I'm just saying that SNK really needs to put a little more effort into Mai's specials.

@KillerNanny As much as we want to, Akoya Sogi isn't going to be young forever. Her age was already showing in her voice by KOF 2003, so its natural that they look for younger ones. Although I admit that they could have found better alternatives, I have no problem with Kallen Shiranui...

I cant undertsand why so many of u guys say so terrible things about the Queen....about her beautiful figure and her wonderful fighting style. She obviously doesn't do massive damage because she's a combo-type character, her true potential is reached when u perform powerful and big combos with her, she's not the type of character that with a single hit or two will do much damage, it is about chaining one attack after another with her and she can be one of the most dangerous characters. I play Mai as a primary in all the old MVS KoF games, and oh my god... I never thought Mai's boobs would look and animate better than the old KoF'9x sprites...

I don't know why people are complaining about the voice though. The original was superb, but could grate on your nerves when hitting a higher pitch. This one doesn't seem to so far.

I'm still going to hate on the new costume though. Without the second 'tail' it looks unbalanced, and the backless design makes no sense at all. :(

@SuperEripio basically. mai is going to be a pressure character; not someone who just needs to save up meter and then hit you once or twice. MAX Cancels are so expensive that you'll barely ever get to use them anyway.

Mai is more of a battery character from what I see, she doesn't need to use the meter, so you stick her on point and use her to build meter for those who need it like Iori or Yuri.

Hmm, Mai's Max Cancel combo doesn't deal as much damage as the others, they can do around 90% damage.

I'm probably in the minority but I don't like Mai's new fighting stance. I know she has big tits and the developers think it is important that we see them. But why she gotta be so bent over. I like her old stance she leaned just enough, so you could get that boob bounce, but at the same time she still seemed to have a legit fighting stance. Now its just over exagerated. I hope next time they put Angel in this game. She has not been seen since KOF 2002. But, I dought they will.

They look like being the same! Can Mai combo her air grab like Yuri? She must! come on SNKP, which is the reason for this weakly Mai? Isn't she a popular female KOF fighter? All the female characters in general do less damage with their NeoMax. Mai was never a character that could do crazy damage. Mai's playstyle is based around zoning, poking, and runaway (she has good speed/movement). Her jump arc and air dive are good tools in the air. Also, we still haven't seen what kind of combos she could do in Hyper Drive mode. I think it's still too early to judge.

Oh OK I get you. Well I like the start-up invincibility frames of the EXDM that the regular DM doesn't have. These video only shows basic combos and move properties. There are still lots of things to be discovered. I don't like to judge the character's gameplay when I didn't even play the game yet. Usually we have to wait months until players can figure out a characters full potential. It's possible she could have some really good combos/tricks/tools that we just don't know yet.

Yes, you are right. But seeing Yuri's and King's Tech REf... they look better than Mai, and well, I have the feeling that SNKP doesn't put efforts on Mai... But let's wait and see how she plays when I have the game in my own :)

actually, after seeing some more footage of kof xiii character selection screen

i noticed that the leader is at the middle,second hand at the first line, so ralf isn't getting leader place at this kof,

by the way the first kof in which he was the leader was kof xi (in my opinion leona doesn't deserve that spot anymore)

Also you're confusing the KOF13 website with the actual character select screen. The actual character select screen, most of the leaders are on the first spot. Google it.

I never said that. I said SOMETIMES it's NOT ALWAYS the leader.

Ralf was always the leader of the Ikari Team after Heidern left. Yet from KoF '96 to 2003 Leona was ALWAYS on the first spot. Why? Because she was important to the story in '96 to '97 and was the most popular out of the team.

To summarize. First spot = The Leader (most of the time) or the Most Important/Popular (some of the time). Got it?
