I'm a stylist and if my clients asked me questions about what i was going to do to their hair and i kept saying, "well, from my training..." or "from my understanding..." I would expect that they would think I didn't truly know what I was doing. She seemed like she literally just finished learning how to do this. Her answers may have been accurate but she didn't sound confident. A client will become very hesitant if YOU dont seem confident in what you're doing.
Oh my fuck I can't believe I just watched that whole stupid video without seeing an end result. You look way better with straight hair anyways I don't see why your so opposed to looking better and keeping your curls. And I say that as a curly haired person so it's not like I'm biased and love straight hair
@springit89 me too i have curly/wavy hair but I love when my hair is straight, Im thinking of getting this done since im work/schooling 12 a day I need something that gets me out the door quick!
i dont undahstand y people get this dangeruos treatment when they can just get their hair rebonded! they do it all the time in the philippines but in america ive never heard of it.......
yeahh i have heard bkt can cause cancer cause of formaldehyde. a great alternative, though, is a temporary straightener. its a gel.. (obviously has no formaldehyde) and it lightly relaxes the curl and eases frizz until your next wash out. it works realllly well!
its called crome temporary straightner. look it up on ebayy
Ogilve makes a great hair straightener that lasts for 90 days. It's easy to use and costs under $10. You just put it on, keep combing to keep your hair straight and rinse (along with the enclosed products). You can get it at CVS or Wal Mart. I've been using it on my (fine, caucasian, curly and color treated) hair for years.
@babeeshopiez123 It lasts 10-12 weeks. I (personally) would NOT recommend this treatment to anyone because it's just wayyyy too damaging. It contains too much formaldehyde (12%) and is certainly not FDA approved. I've also seen a story of a woman in my city who lost half of her hair 4 months after this treatment. Just flat iron ur hair if u want it straight.
So if you said that your straight hair is not going to last for long , then why did you pay almost $500 to get it done if you don't normally wear you hair straight? lmao
Ha you can tell the stylist just wants to say "god will you shut up and let me do my job and give you what you want". As a hairstylist myself I love curly hair...i think it is beautiful...but god do i hate the people that have curly hair.
Thank you so much for asking about black hair. i laughed when you first asked and she said yes i did it on a texas blonde. thanks for pressing, clarifying and asking again because our hair is so often left out of the discussion. It worked on biracial hair, i wonder if it works on 100% afro-textured kinky hair with little curl definition and lots of frizz? Good questions all around! I would ask too because I love my hair and its not worth messing up for a one time fling...
Keratin treatments for smoothing and straightening hair often utilize either formaldehyde or glutaraldehyde.
The most effective measure of safety to avoid the excessive levels of these vapors can be obtained by using a chemical source capture system with one or more salon room air purifiers.
These systems have been tested by scientific expert Doug Schoon and have been found to be an effective means for lowering exposure to safe levels.

This is the best Brazilian Blowout video I've seen yet. I'm going this week to have it done. My hair is curly, but not as curly as yours. I'm pretty nervous about it, but seeing this has calmed me down. A little. lol
@thecatatemyhomework I hope you had a great experience! I did it on myself and I absolutely LOVE the results! It totally straightened my hair, and that's what I was looking for so hope you get the results you wanted too!
@theandyandsamyshow I had to change my appointment, so I haven't had it done yet, but I'm going in two days (Thursday) to have it done. I'm a little nervous, as my son's wedding is in four weeks. I'm pretty confident that I'll be pleased, though. Glad yours came out the way you wanted it to. I'm impressed that you did it yourself.
@thecatatemyhomework im sure you'll be pleased with it! :) and i hope you have fun at your sons wedding!
just make sure you tell your stylist what your looking for, my understanding is the final result is NOT dependant on the final blowout, because i didnt blow mine out at all at the end and it was super straight, what determines it is the amount of passes with the flat iron and the tension used, so make sure you tell your stylist what your looking for :]
@thecatatemyhomework and thanks! i was considering getting it done at the carlton salon, but my jaw dropped at the price seeing as how short my hair is, and i asked if they sold the products and the girl said i would never be able to do it myself. so naturally, i found it on ebay and did it perfectly myself :] let me know how it goes!
@nostalgia5 The product is called Brazilian Blowout. I've done it four times if you have any questions. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the results! Best thing I have ever done for my hair!
Please I have a question? I'm about to try keratin, but my concern is about my grays .. I have like 80% gray hair!
and I color my roots regularly , like every 3 2 weeks, because my gray is inherited and started to show up since i was 14, I'm now 28
so my question is ,, is it OK to have keratin on my hair? or it doesn't work well with gray hair.. and if i'd like to color my roots after the treatment.. what will happen?
@Leenao I think its great to have your hair straight but theres also dangers to it... there is formaldehyde (embalming fluid) and carcinogens which causes cancer. it only lasts up to 12 weeks.
tht lady whos getting her hair done has my moms face! omg thts so weird! lmao
