It also fails to include "stats" (I'm not sure about the ones they did include) on religious and racial hate-crimes that this bill would also empower the local law enforcement agencies to prosecute.

wow. it's great to see that even the uneducated have learned to type...to create videos using these here fancy internet machines...to post pictures devoid of context to suit their own purposes...etc. perhaps it would be easier to digest if someday, someone came up to you and asked, "are you straight?", and then if you answered in the affirmative, they curbed you or stabbed you or punched you in the face. it's tough knowing how hate can lead to crime unless you, yourself, have been a victim.

Why is anything said in that video a reason to oppose hate crime legislation? I can understand how you don't want the government punishing what is inside a persons head, but when you attack someone (anyone not LBGT btw) because they are a member of a group, then you are attacking the entire group. The hate crimes bill is only a small part about LBGT issues, the rest of it is for other persecuted minorities.
