This guy is one of the most amazing examples of an American Hero. If you look at the Captain's history of Airforce training through to this day, it's simply an unbelievable coincidence and stroke of luck. Beyond the 155 passengers, the number of people's lives that would have been affected is probably in the millions!
I can't imagine how stressful it must have been for Sully to safely glide the plane into the Hudson river yet wow he kept so calm and no passengers died like amazing!
Mr. Sully. You ARE a hero! You knew your stuff and given your dire situation, you calculated your chances of landing the plane in the safest way AND understood/evaluated what you were possibly capable of doing. This was nevertheless a very difficult and coordinated landing of a very skilled pilot: YOU. So very admirable. You are also a true Captain. Bravo to you!
i have watched all these video's loads of times and they fascinate me , this man is not only a hero he is such a humble and highly skilled individual , he always makes it quite clear that his crew were as important in the outcome of this incident as he was .... the usa should be very proud of this remarkable man and also his remarkable crew .
Such earnest humility - What has captured people's imaginations, is the the unlikely result of saving not just ONE life (which is a noble feat in itself) but 155 lives! Captain Sulley, you are precisely what defines a hero! Cool headed in the face of overwhelming odds, professional right to the end. You restore my faith in the basic goodness of man. - Thank you!
I was happy to learn that Skiles and Sullenberger were chosen to succeed Harrison Ford as the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA)'s "Young Eagles" program chairman for kids ages 8-17. (Google their names and "young eagles" and you're sure to turn up news results)
Hey, I am a guy and I don't get emotional much, but just to hear Sully talk is refreshing to me, let alone his professional skilled actions a pilot. He is a true example in every fashion of how people should live their lives. He is very humble, and considerate, but also very intelligent, skilled, and obviously has a lot of common sense. God Bless him and his family. THIS is what reality TV should really be about, instead of the trash shows you see on VH1.
Dear dear Sully. The reluctant hero, suddenly thrust into the spotlight and wanting to give his crew the credit they deserve (though he deserves so much of it. Can definitely understand the sentiment, though.
I admire you and also your parents who brought you up to become such a wonderful man!. Every Parent should try there best to bring up there kids to become someone of such character like you no matter what the circumstances are!

I think that President Obama should name Capt. Sully and Capt. Jeff as Honorary Pilots of Air Force One.

People like him should be the role models of our youth. His humility and compassion is refreshing. God Bless the survivors and the crew!! =)

This made me cry. It's so beautiful to see such a good thing happen. I cannot imagine how grateful the passengers and their families are to him.
Sully is the hero that America needs. He is the role model that our children need. His humility and professionalism should set a precedent for us all.
Thank you, Captain Sullenberger.

Kudos also to Katie Couric and the "60 Minutes" . It was an excellent, memorable tribute to a great team.
