the only ducebags of the week is people who are upset over a game call overreact to one game call and call the guy names cause of a miss call and yes i know what perfect game is i would of been upset my self but you know what i would of gotten over it after 30 minutes of the game was over. and would of live my life.
first you had to see the replay again second he did in real motion not replay motion and yes it was alot closer than what your saying. it was a miss call not the dummest call THAT NOT HOW YOU UMPIRE, YOU NOT GIVE AN OUT JUST FOR WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE GAME. ITS WRONG. i will agree mlb umpire have been a lot worst than before this seasson but they humans you get over it. you didn't die cause he didn't get a perfect game you world didn't crash... nothing happen but a man miss a perfect game.
Tiger fan here. BLOW ME!! That play was VERY CLOSE. Unlike you and Harry Wendlestedt, I don't believe in givin' a guy something just because he's workin' on a perfect game.
@dave4248 i can't stand how people react when they never umpire in the game it was close i wouldn't say very close i think your giving to much to jim. and jim is one of the best umpires in mlb the umpire that needs to leave is joe west.
@sntslilhlpr6601 pretty rash generalization. Probably because it's easier to call people names over a networking site which allows users to hide behind user names, without actually posting videos themselves. Good job perpetuating the stereotype....
It's funny how mad you get over a sports game when you have people like Bill Gates retiring to go to Bilderberg meetings when he has admitted we need vaccinations to lower population, you are perfectly fine with the private banks violating the Constitution and state rights and developing a world government. It's perfectly acceptable for an illegal alien to take US presidency and kill Americans without trial to you. But a bad call on a close game in sports really gets to you?
it was a bad call, and maybe replay should be used more. you have to respect joyce's very heart felt apology and admission of error afterwards, he didnt make the call to get the spotlight on himself, i think that is evident.
wow give the guy a break. calling him a douche bag because he's human and made a mistake. it's a slpit second decision and joyce made a mistake. get over it!!! by the way the blown call will affect jim joyce's career more than galaragga's. joyce apolagized and galararraga has class for reacting the way he did.
@brutishspartan ironic that you say give the guy a break because he made a mistake, but this was MY instant reaction to his instant reaction.....the difference being, I'm not a professional umpire affecting the outcome of a historical moment. The big thing to take away from this is not the blown call, but eliminating the human element in situations like this.
I don't see why they just don't review the tape & overturn the call. Everyone makes mistakes, even umpires. Apparently the umpire went to the pitcher & appologized after the game. Hopefully this can get overturned.
Replay needs to be used at least in situations like this one, you can't, and I mean it, you can't miss a call like that. Whether is safe or out, it doesn't matter, if you as an umpire have to make a call like that, it-doesn't-matter if the runner it's barely safe or barely out when you are just one out away of a perfect game , you MUST call it out. It's instinctive. Here the runner was easy one step away of the base, could he have had an easier decision than that?
It was a close play and you look at replay in slow motion and then say its a bad call. Umpires see the play from one angle and the replay is show from a bunch of different replays from different angles and in slow motion. Then they pause it and you wanna shit on the umpire. Instant replay should be used more but I don't blame the umpire. It sucks it should of been a perfect game but shit happens.
@joey1324 It really wasn't a close play. That's why they're major league umpires, because they are trained to see and hear exactly what happens. He had a perfect view of the play, knew the situation, and still blew the call. It's unacceptable to just cop out and say, "shit happens".
@devinemassacre Actually, shit can happen in baseball too. It was an unfortunate error on Jim Joyce's part, and bad timing. Galarraga deserved the perfect game, but we don't always get what we deserve - even MLB players.
Yeah man, horrible call by him and he's one of the most respected umps in MLB apparently. Terrible call, I don't care if he actually beat the throw by a small hair, you should still call it an out, he blew it and he knows it. HAHA!!! Deuchebag of the year, love it. It's true though even if he did apologize, he still ruined a perfect game and you don't do that. Just as bad as blowing the last out of the last game of the world series and the other team comes back to win. Terrible call!
@bcmvp11 professional umpires should NEVER miss those calls. He should know the situation he's in. Last out of a perfect game, close play, it's an out....his first instinct was to call the runner safe. I have a HUGE problem with that.
@devinemassacre Yeah man, I play baseball myself and have been following it for years now, and you can't miss that call on the LAST out of a perfect game. You don't miss that call on the 1st out of a game, but the LAST out of a perfect game shouldn't be missed like that. You're right, first instinct should be out, not safe, he blew it.
Why are the Umps getting sooooo many calls wrong this year?? WTF?? I hope this pictcher SUES!!!!!!!! MLB CHANGE the CALL!!! PETITION THIS PEOPLE!!!!!!
laugh out fucking loud! (at the middle finger bashing of jim joyce) I haven't seen this shit yet, but it sounds like a dewzy. but yeah, you DON'T FUCK with no-hitters, let alone perfect games...thanks for putting this situation on blast, gunna have to check it out bro-
I think that Jim Joyce should be fired! Everyone saw it. MLB needs to change it to a perfect game. The Tigers should've protested the game. I think some managers-Lou Pinnela, Billy Martin ect. - would have got suspended after a serious rage.
@aufer21 I'm sure they'll appeal it....even if they do overturn it, which is a big IF, the magic of throwing a perfect game or witnessing a perfect game is gone.
@devinemassacre i don't think they can do that in mlb. the game's over and they can't change it. although everyone knows it's a perfect game, it won't go down in the record books as that.
@jakejackjoe when CC Sabathia threw a "no-hitter" in Pittsburgh, and the official scorer blew the call, the Brewers challenged the ruling afterwords. Challenging an Umpire's call may be different, but I'd assume they'll try.
@devinemassacre well after seeing the postgame show, all the tigers are pretty much saying "it was a perfect game" and that they "respect jim joyce" but they don't seem like they're gonna challenge it.
he did his job you are fucking duce now...
