Kocherian, former armenian president carries turkic name with persian suffix. "kocher" stands for "nomadic"

there is nothing weird. there r different versions of the story; it's about a foreign non turkish girl, as she is blond which is not a sufficient proof cause there have been and still r lots of blond blue eyed people in Turkey as well as in Azerbaijan. in fact those turks that have less mixture with arabs and persions tend to be lighter

also "aghchik" sounds very turkic. It ends as turkic words do, like gelinchik, papagchik, which is added to make them sound sweet and softer like russian "ka" kalinka, natashka etc. Even widespread armenian "ian" is persian, for instance "arian". Kocherian, former armenian president carries turkic name with persian suffix. "kocher" stands for "nomadic"

yes, 'ian' is originally median, and there are also ian last names in persia. many armenians have turkish words in their last names, because in ottoman times, the turkish authorities translated the names for tax purposes, so for example, the son of a jewler (voskerichian) became Kuyumjian. but 'akhchik' is of purely armenian in origin. it is the eastern armenian form of 'aghchig' (in w. armenian)

coming back to "Artsakh". as i said you cant beat me on my own language. ethimology of "Ar/er" is complex, words used to have different although similar meanings as language developed. Kahraman is hero but new version of it. However "er" means man, male, warrier, husband. Do some research on "saks" before making statements

you do realise tha turks are not the only ones who speak turkish.
but the thing is, the term "artsakh" has been in usage since before the turkmen and seljuk invasions of the caucasus, so i doubt that the origin would be turkish anyway..and meanwhile, you can reverse-engineer hundres of different explanations for words when you want to make them resemble your cause.

It has already been explained that this song is very popular in the region, but it does not deny the azerbaijani origin. U need to be azeri to feel that. it is not tukish or persian way of poetry. "turku" which is turkish folk is absolutely different style. Persians have mugham similar to ours however our "tar" string instrument is much more complex. And ones more if u listen it is sang in azeri, not in turkish or persian in this particular piece. My goal is not to convince u. I am just sharing

This is an Azerbaijani folk song, which is lovingly sung across the region, in Turkey, Armenia and Iran, but the song itself and the language it is sung is Azerbaijani. "Sari Gelin" means "Blond Bride" in Azeri.
Armenians and Persians have long tried to appropriate this song, but even they cannot avoid using Azeri "Sari Gelin" in-between the Armenian text. To feel the real beauty of this song one needs to hear it in its original Azeri version.

how many blond azeris do you know (and i'm not refering to the russified prostitutes you find in baku who die their hair blond and put blue contacts on)...in armenian, we don't use the title 'sari gelin', we say 'sari aghchik' which roughly translates to woman of the mountains. the song does not originate from azerbaijan, but from anatolia, it was recorded during ottoman times, and turkish villages also have it as a folk song

hosank, u r a very unaware person. in comparison to Armenia Azerbaijan has 9 climatic zones out of 11 existing. And people's skin colour varies accordingly. Up north they r lighter and closer to Iran darker. However even amongst 30 mln azeri population of 60 mln iran there r plenty blond and blue eyed people. sari aghchik reminds me of 'Artsakh' (Karabakh) which is still turkic: 'sakh or saks' stands for ancient turkic tribes and 'ar or er' for "hero or man'. U cant bulshit us with our language

..mm thats great, but some turkish guy was telling me that this song was actually an anatolian song about forbidden love between some armenian and a turk..or some variation of that..and some iranian guy gave me an iranian explanation for the song. (putting aside that i still am not convinced that there are any nordic azeris) i have no idea what you're talking about artsakh=hero[turkish tribe]? btw hero in turkish is kahraman, and i have never heard of a turkish tribe named 'saks'..loolll

btw, for your info, artsakh means: " name is derived from "Ar" (Aran) and "tsakh" (woods, garden) (i.e., the gardens of Aran Sisakian, the first nakharar of northeastern Armenia)"
this is quite undisputed, even by turkic and persian sources.

also, the turkic gelinchik has nothing to do with the syntax for the armenian use of "ik", which usually denotes smallness "agkhch-ik"= young woman (girl). Pokr-ik= (literally: small), jout-ik: chick (litterally, small bird)..etc...
