most of these hits are when the players aren't looking. What has the game turned into. The umpires piss me off, waving play on on a clear high contact. Umpires are meant to protect the players.
labonneruerouge and rxonez1 and anybody else stop godam fighting like children they are both great and each have their aspects and downsides so stop bloody fighting!
@labonneruerouge man your an idiot if you think lineman in the nfl come close to having the same kind of contact these guys encounter. not only are they padded in the nfl they also have 200+ pounds of pure fat on them. the distance between them before they collide is what? 2 yards? they arent even jogging when they smash into each other. no doubt its still a big collision, the men are massive, but the fact that these guys are going full speed at each other says it all...
I play both sports. In Aussie Rules as a ruckman, and Gridiron as a WR/CB. There is so much more courage on an Aussie Rules field. It takes a massive hit in Gridiron to hurt, whereas in Aussie Rules, i feel like ive been raped after every game. I also broke my jaw in 6 places playing AFL which would NEVER happen in gridiron. Gridiron is really fun though.
@porterwake Excuse me good sir. I did not realise that you were prominent member of the grammar Nazis. If you would think... you would realise that it does not matter if you are 260 pounds if half of your weight is fat. You said on average an AFL player is 5'10 210 pounds. First off, how do you know that did you add up every single AFL player's weight and divide by the total number of players? Besides over half of the NFL are fat 300 pound blacks who play defensive/ offensive line. NFL blows
Hahahaha, look at that little twig boy. HEY LOOK OUT FOR SHRIMPY!! That kid wouldn't survive a down in the NFL. He wouldn't survive a down in high school football.
@porterwake elite conditioned mate? Your deluded if anyone is. Yeah, they may be fit and all that rot, but those NFL assholes are pansies who run around with pads do not give two shits about anything but money.
You're* deluded. Spell it right kid. Give me a break, go ahead and go up against an NFL middle linebacker who is 6'4, 260 pounds. Australian rules football player on average is 5'10, 210 pounds. Weak, college basketball teams are larger.
@porterwake Your deluded, the average size of an AFL player isn't 5'10. There's giants who play the game. There's stacks of players 6'4, 6'5, 6'9 & taller who play Australian Football
A NFL Line Backer is just a fat cunt with soft cock padding on. If a NFL Line Backer didn't have soft cock padding, he wouldnt know how to defend him self & would get fucked up by a big AFL player. & that's if he doesn't die of a heart attack 1st
To call those fat cunts who are 330 pounds plus athletes is a joke
@porterwake His 6'4 you lying cunt. And there is plenty of people in the AFL who could match up on him & take him out.
Aaron Sandilands 6'9, 268 pounds, David Hille 6'4, 237 pounds, Chris Dawes 6'4, 231 pounds, Matthew Leuenberger 6'6, 224 pounds & ''many'' more. Australian Football has way taller players than American Football.
@porterwake they couldnt keep up because of the running patterns, and how they can tackle you from any direction. Also you need split second decisions, which would get them hammered because they wouldnt have this! AFL is the hardest contact ball sport in the world
as a soccer player it seems all too easy to go "OI BARBARIANS" but it is a part of the game and it makes the sport what it is. the bumps on the man just after they kick the ball are a bit harsh though

Let's stop with this AFL vs Rugby Union here. They are both good sports, the real sucker is NRL. It is a simpler version of union because union was a bit too complicated, so the simpletons invented the NRL
These guys are tough as hell. Although if you were to insert NFL players in, people would die. Just compare height and weight in various rosters, NFL rosters have more stacked guys.
NFL players would not able to keep up - Rugby players are finding it hard cause of all the running with out a break and they have to slim down, you can't be to heavy in this game.
The NFL guys are taller, stronger and run low 4s 40 yard dashes dude. I've seen both, you can check 40 times and check rosters. NFL players are the biggest, strongest and fastest in the world.
@porterwake Yeah not reality, America lives in a bubble when it come to Football. Your players aren't Bigger, Stronger & Faster, your players are fat cunts with soft cock padding on apart from 3 of them.
Its a disgrace to even compare Australian Football Players to American Football players, apart from 3 of them. And their the ones who aren't that big.
American Football is the worst sport in the world, Its got next to no skill, stop start, with fat cunts with soft cock padding on.
I'm looking at a roster right now, most of the players are under 200 pounds. That's why they don't wear padding, because their bodies are weak. Check an NFL roster, average weight is well over 230 pounds that run mid 4 second 40 yard dashes, your AFL buddies would be MURDERED. That's why they wear pads. Jesus christ, our kicker is bigger than the biggest player on some of these teams. I wouldn't wear padding against these jokes anyway. I've seen toddlers hit viciously too, no pads
@porterwake Like I said weak would be wearing padding. Most of our players are under 200 pounds, because AFL players are actually ''Athletes'' unlike NFL players where there is 3 on side & the rest of fat cunts. That's a fact, the truth hurts.
@porterwake What you arrogant cunts have got to understand is that you wear ''Protective Equipment''. You hit a little harder & the only reason is because you have a Helmet on.
NFL players go in Head first & have no concern for their Head or Neck u couldn't that with out a helmet on u'd break your Neck. If u didn't have a Helmet on, u couldn't go in Head first & you would hit just as hard as Australian Football or Rugby. Australian Football has athletes & skill, NFL has no skill & fat cunts.
@porterwake A lot of kickers are um, from the AFL - Pat O'Dea, Colin Ridgeway, Darren Bennett, Ben Graham, Nathan Chapman, Saverio Rocca, and Chris Bryan.
@porterwake Lets be honest, the average NFL player would not be able to play out a quarter of an AFL game. AFL players are elite athletes, NFL players play in short bursts before resting again. In a 2 hour AFL game (excluding quarter breaks), players get around 5 - 10 minutes of rest.
If we removed all the padding, lets see if your NFL players will still risk their bodies for the ball.
No, NFL players are bigger, faster and stronger. Compare rosters, 40 times, bench press ect. Hockey players play longer shifts too and hit hard, but I've heard the Pittsburgh Penguins admit they'd be no match for NFL players because they know they are no match in terms of size, strength and speed. NHL players are fast and strong too.
@porterwake I'm sorry but did you listen to a word I said? Sure, NFL players exert high amounts of energy in short bursts repeatedy. However, that's all they specialise in. In an average NFL play - the majority of players would run no further than 10 metres (if even that), before resting and repeating. An AFL player would run any NFL player to exhaustion before they even got the opportunity to lay a hit.
NFL players are highly conditioned too. Might as well say since soccer players run around the whole time they would run NFL players to exhaustion. Irrelevant point, NFL players would destroy soccer players.
@porterwake Soccer players do not lay body on body tackles though - so your point is irrelevant. AFL players lay the same bumps as NFL players - the only difference is that NFL players wear padding. It's easy to lay a bump on a player knowing that you have 3 inches of padding protecting your body from damage.
@dejeynes Another difference is the size of the man playing. What do you think would happen if a man the size of a NFL player were to play without padding? There would be deaths.
@BlowTorchCinema I'm guessing some fatcunt American would sit on and squash someone to death? Who gives a shit, I'm tired of this stupid comparison -- NFL is not even in the same league of toughness as Rugby or AFL. No padding >>> Padding.
@dejeynes Ok really. So I guess the phrase "you are mad" was never uttered before the internet right? Get over yourself. I actually meant "You are mad" and planned to end the conversation.
@dejeynes these guys are like a quarter of the size of american ball players though, even most slot receivers are bigger than these guys. I would rather take a hit from these guys with no padding than a hit from a american ball player WITH padding- hell just watch their 'hardest hits', it's way worse than these.
@labonneruerouge I did watch their hardest hits. I fail to see anyone getting knocked out cold, because that happens just about every game in AFL. Also, because AFL players don't wear padding - they have to act within the rules of the game to not cause serious damage to the opposition. This is AFL from the 2000's, prior to that their was basically no rules against bumping. It was a bloodbath.
@dejeynes There's a reason some people in America advocate changing American ball to be more like Australia's and it's cause they sustain far less serious injuries. Legs, arms, whatever but US ball players get those and major head traumas like concussions much more often. I'm not saying the NFL is better than the AFL, i'm not even a big football fan and they aren't very similar sports, I'm just saying its a lot more brutal.
@labonneruerouge The average height/weight of an AFL player is 6'2" and 192lbs. That is hardly quarter of the size of an American Footballer (6'1" and 240lbs).
AFL is harder, faster and more entertaining than NFL.
@rxonez1 that's including the offense and kickers- guys that would never tackle. The average defensive lineman is easily over 300 lbs. And in the AFL, they don't tackle like the NFL does, it's much more like soccer in that regard, so getting hit by the 300 lb American defensive lineman is going to hurt a whole lot worse.
@labonneruerouge Of course it includes offence, that's how averages work. I could easily exclude the small forwards from AFL and bump the average right up too. These 300lbers you speak of don't tackle, they merely rub their bellies on the bellies of their opposition player as they try to block them from waddling passed. Only a handful of players per team have any talent and actually touch the ball. Any AFL player would beat any NFL player at every aspect of NFL except the one they specialise in.
@rxonez1 Well then it must be magic cause getting "rubbed by their bellies" somehow produces severe physical trauma at a higher rate that that of the AFL. And you can't compare the NFL to the AFL for talent- they're totally different sports, the AFL is pretty much soccer with hands.
@labonneruerouge I think injuries per capita would roughly be the same in both sports, considering Gridiron teams have 50+ players per game. I agree, they are totally different sports, yet only one requires more than one skill set. If AFL is anything like soccer, then NFL is like slow motion chess, with obese pawns in lycra.
@rxonez1 They aren't, american ball has a far higher rate of serious injuries such as concussions- there are a lot to studies on it vs other tackle sports. And petty insults at the NFL aren't proving any points. If you put an AFL player in an NFL position, he'd fail miserably and vice versa because they demand totally different skill sets.
@labonneruerouge Maybe a higher rate of concussion, but not ACL/Medial ligaments, facial fractures, hamstrings, shoulder reco's etc. All are "serious injuries". An AFL player would excel as a kicker, wide receiver and running back. They wouldn't drop catches like they do in NFL either, their hand skills are terrible most of the time. An NFL player could possibly play as a centre half forward if he improved his fitness tenfold and learnt how to kick the ball on both feet.
@rxonez1 I'm sorry but I don't consider a pulled hamstring a serious injury. And that is total bullshit and you know it, NFL players are trained since they're children, an AFL player couldn't touch them in speed, power, or precision- and if they could, they'd be NFL players, where the money and recognition is.
And the fact that you can't admit any of it shows that, to you, favorites come before facts.
@dannyland1 lol i guess we didnt watch the same video. i guess you would rather see guys hitting eachother in the face with their ass right? i know you are going to make the pads and helmet argument but nfl/college football players are still causing massive injuries even with those pads, goes to show how hard they actually hit and they probably outweigh some of these guys by around 20-30lbs with 4.3-4.4 speed.
Rugby, you mean the game where its ok for people to stick fingers up the oppositions arse? BAHAHAHA, I'll pass thanks.
For the rest of you, keep in mind that 99% of these incidents are report-able and the person laying the hurt would have been suspended for at least a game or 2...
@rhgi Kick the ball between two big posts for six points, if someone has of the ball you are entitled to destroy them, if someone is near the ball you are entitled to bust them up, catching the ball when kicked further then 15 meters and you are entitled to a ten second breather, when the time is up you better kick the ball before the guy waiting annihilates you.
This is why our game is the best in the world. Those that aren´t knocked out cold all scramble to get on their feet. No other game requires the courage, stamina or skill like AFL does. Put away the whistles and the books, and make them earn their money.
@chocoroyal *Cough* Bullshit. It's a game with novelty value, at best. A game where all they do is punch, kick or hacks the ball downfield. And you say that no game has the skill of AFL! All rugby players do what they do (except handballs), but do it better and rugby's hits are not just cheap shots. The biggest moment in AFL (scoring a goal) is the kind of thing that gets a polite clap in rugby.
@brumbieskickarse Your so biased its not funny. How can you honestly compare rugby where all they have to focus on is a 180 degree radius where brute strength is the main role. To a sport where a player has to be aware of a 360 degree radius where he simply can't throw the ball to a team mate. Why both even watching the video, just fuck off.
@plummer89 I watched for a bit of a laugh. Sounds like the truth hurts hey? Your ignorance shows when you suggest that brute strength is all that is required in a tactical game like rugby. Victorian Football, sorry AFL, is like a very primitive game of rugby.
@brumbieskickarse Watched for a bit of a laugh? So i guess you believe it is "soft", Well if you judge a sport of its physicality, then piss of rugby and go watch boxing you absolute low life. Or are you just bitter that no one actually cares about rugby union in Australia? Grab a tissue and fuck off.
@plummer89 No I don't think it's 'soft'. Lets see if no one cares about rugby here if we make the world cup final haha. 2003 rugby world cup final tv ratings shat on any Victorian football viewings ;) I think you're the one who needs a tissue.
@brumbieskickarse 8 years ago, when brisbane and port adelaide played in the grand final. even with 2 interstate teams i dont believe that more people watched rugby, simply because it's rugby.
@rxonez1 2005 AFL Grand Final (Sydney Swans v West Coast Eagles) 3,386,000. 2003 Rugby World Cup: Final (Australia v England) 4,016,000 (2nd highest rating show ever!). Don't get me wrong Victorian Football is interesting and better than soccer. But in the end it just robs us of good rugby talent. All those potential locks, wingers and fullbacks...sigh
@brumbieskickarse i dont know what a lock is. im tipping its one of the guys that throws the ball then gets tackled, then gets up, then gets tackled again. the only reason that game rated so highly is because all australians watch australia play no matter what the sport. i watch us play lawn bowls ffs. and its australian football, hasnt been victorian since before 1990.
@brumbieskickarse the afl doest rob any kind of rugby its players we all know players can change codes or more often the absolute fittest rugby players can undertake a shite load of training to try and change codes but then not making it because they are only used to playing for about half an hour per game rather than almost 2 hours as an afl game is! if you dont like afl dont watch afl related videos and dont make smartarse comments unless you could actually play elite level afl which i doubt!
@QwkSlva well they could change codes, but I have never heard of any rugby players doing so. A few rugby league players have though. Most rugby players play 80 mins. And I'm not sure they would need extra fitness as the game involves a lot of running and wrestling (tackling, mauling etc) not just running around jogging with the odd sprint here and there.
@chocoroyal If I want to see the ball bouncing around everywhere and scores so high that they lose their entertainment 'impact' I'll watch basketball. Cross country basketball (AFL) has peaked, and in all the years it has existed has managed to grow from Vic to Perth lol
@kazking14 I know right.. fucken RAP.. jesus.. what the hell is wrong with you man.. put some fucken AUSSIE MUSIC with AFL Vids.. doh.. otherwise the vid is good..

AFFTL 2 months ago
@porterwake A lot of kickers are um, from the AFL - Pat O'Dea, Colin Ridgeway, Darren Bennett, Ben Graham, Nathan Chapman, Saverio Rocca, and Chris Bryan.
What's your arguement anyway?
MrJD280897 2 months ago
@porterwake Lets be honest, the average NFL player would not be able to play out a quarter of an AFL game. AFL players are elite athletes, NFL players play in short bursts before resting again. In a 2 hour AFL game (excluding quarter breaks), players get around 5 - 10 minutes of rest.
If we removed all the padding, lets see if your NFL players will still risk their bodies for the ball.

@dejeynes
NHL players are fast and strong too.
porterwake 2 months ago
@porterwake I'm sorry but did you listen to a word I said? Sure, NFL players exert high amounts of energy in short bursts repeatedy. However, that's all they specialise in. In an average NFL play - the majority of players would run no further than 10 metres (if even that), before resting and repeating. An AFL player would run any NFL player to exhaustion before they even got the opportunity to lay a hit.
dejeynes 2 months ago
@dejeynes
NFL players are highly conditioned too. Might as well say since soccer players run around the whole time they would run NFL players to exhaustion. Irrelevant point, NFL players would destroy soccer players.
porterwake 2 months ago
@porterwake Soccer players do not lay body on body tackles though - so your point is irrelevant. AFL players lay the same bumps as NFL players - the only difference is that NFL players wear padding. It's easy to lay a bump on a player knowing that you have 3 inches of padding protecting your body from damage.
dejeynes 2 months ago
@dejeynes Another difference is the size of the man playing. What do you think would happen if a man the size of a NFL player were to play without padding? There would be deaths.
BlowTorchCinema 1 month ago
@BlowTorchCinema I'm guessing some fatcunt American would sit on and squash someone to death? Who gives a shit, I'm tired of this stupid comparison -- NFL is not even in the same league of toughness as Rugby or AFL. No padding >>> Padding.

@dejeynes these guys are like a quarter of the size of american ball players though, even most slot receivers are bigger than these guys. I would rather take a hit from these guys with no padding than a hit from a american ball player WITH padding- hell just watch their 'hardest hits', it's way worse than these.
labonneruerouge 1 month ago

I'm not saying the NFL is better than the AFL, i'm not even a big football fan and they aren't very similar sports, I'm just saying its a lot more brutal.
labonneruerouge 1 month ago
@labonneruerouge The average height/weight of an AFL player is 6'2" and 192lbs. That is hardly quarter of the size of an American Footballer (6'1" and 240lbs).
AFL is harder, faster and more entertaining than NFL.
rxonez1 1 month ago
@rxonez1 that's including the offense and kickers- guys that would never tackle. The average defensive lineman is easily over 300 lbs. And in the AFL, they don't tackle like the NFL does, it's much more like soccer in that regard, so getting hit by the 300 lb American defensive lineman is going to hurt a whole lot worse.
labonneruerouge 1 month ago
@labonneruerouge Of course it includes offence, that's how averages work. I could easily exclude the small forwards from AFL and bump the average right up too. These 300lbers you speak of don't tackle, they merely rub their bellies on the bellies of their opposition player as they try to block them from waddling passed. Only a handful of players per team have any talent and actually touch the ball. Any AFL player would beat any NFL player at every aspect of NFL except the one they specialise in.
rxonez1 1 month ago
@rxonez1 Well then it must be magic cause getting "rubbed by their bellies" somehow produces severe physical trauma at a higher rate that that of the AFL. And you can't compare the NFL to the AFL for talent- they're totally different sports, the AFL is pretty much soccer with hands.
labonneruerouge 1 month ago
@labonneruerouge I think injuries per capita would roughly be the same in both sports, considering Gridiron teams have 50+ players per game. I agree, they are totally different sports, yet only one requires more than one skill set. If AFL is anything like soccer, then NFL is like slow motion chess, with obese pawns in lycra.

@rxonez1 They aren't, american ball has a far higher rate of serious injuries such as concussions- there are a lot to studies on it vs other tackle sports. And petty insults at the NFL aren't proving any points. If you put an AFL player in an NFL position, he'd fail miserably and vice versa because they demand totally different skill sets.
labonneruerouge 1 month ago
@labonneruerouge Maybe a higher rate of concussion, but not ACL/Medial ligaments, facial fractures, hamstrings, shoulder reco's etc. All are "serious injuries". An AFL player would excel as a kicker, wide receiver and running back. They wouldn't drop catches like they do in NFL either, their hand skills are terrible most of the time. An NFL player could possibly play as a centre half forward if he improved his fitness tenfold and learnt how to kick the ball on both feet.
rxonez1 1 month ago
@rxonez1 I'm sorry but I don't consider a pulled hamstring a serious injury. And that is total bullshit and you know it, NFL players are trained since they're children, an AFL player couldn't touch them in speed, power, or precision- and if they could, they'd be NFL players, where the money and recognition is.
And the fact that you can't admit any of it shows that, to you, favorites come before facts.

Rugby, you mean the game where its ok for people to stick fingers up the oppositions arse? BAHAHAHA, I'll pass thanks.
For the rest of you, keep in mind that 99% of these incidents are report-able and the person laying the hurt would have been suspended for at least a game or 2...

rhgi 9 months ago
@rhgi Kick the ball between two big posts for six points, if someone has of the ball you are entitled to destroy them, if someone is near the ball you are entitled to bust them up, catching the ball when kicked further then 15 meters and you are entitled to a ten second breather, when the time is up you better kick the ball before the guy waiting annihilates you.
bombersrulz 8 months ago
This is why our game is the best in the world. Those that aren´t knocked out cold all scramble to get on their feet. No other game requires the courage, stamina or skill like AFL does. Put away the whistles and the books, and make them earn their money.
chocoroyal 10 months ago
@chocoroyal *Cough* Bullshit. It's a game with novelty value, at best. A game where all they do is punch, kick or hacks the ball downfield. And you say that no game has the skill of AFL! All rugby players do what they do (except handballs), but do it better and rugby's hits are not just cheap shots. The biggest moment in AFL (scoring a goal) is the kind of thing that gets a polite clap in rugby.
brumbieskickarse 6 months ago
@brumbieskickarse Your so biased its not funny. How can you honestly compare rugby where all they have to focus on is a 180 degree radius where brute strength is the main role. To a sport where a player has to be aware of a 360 degree radius where he simply can't throw the ball to a team mate. Why both even watching the video, just fuck off.
plummer89 6 months ago
@plummer89 I watched for a bit of a laugh. Sounds like the truth hurts hey? Your ignorance shows when you suggest that brute strength is all that is required in a tactical game like rugby. Victorian Football, sorry AFL, is like a very primitive game of rugby.
brumbieskickarse 6 months ago
@brumbieskickarse Watched for a bit of a laugh? So i guess you believe it is "soft", Well if you judge a sport of its physicality, then piss of rugby and go watch boxing you absolute low life. Or are you just bitter that no one actually cares about rugby union in Australia? Grab a tissue and fuck off.
plummer89 6 months ago
@plummer89 No I don't think it's 'soft'. Lets see if no one cares about rugby here if we make the world cup final haha. 2003 rugby world cup final tv ratings shat on any Victorian football viewings ;) I think you're the one who needs a tissue.
brumbieskickarse 6 months ago
@brumbieskickarse 8 years ago, when brisbane and port adelaide played in the grand final. even with 2 interstate teams i dont believe that more people watched rugby, simply because it's rugby.
rxonez1 6 months ago
@rxonez1 2005 AFL Grand Final (Sydney Swans v West Coast Eagles) 3,386,000. 2003 Rugby World Cup: Final (Australia v England) 4,016,000 (2nd highest rating show ever!). Don't get me wrong Victorian Football is interesting and better than soccer. But in the end it just robs us of good rugby talent. All those potential locks, wingers and fullbacks...sigh
brumbieskickarse 6 months ago
@brumbieskickarse i dont know what a lock is. im tipping its one of the guys that throws the ball then gets tackled, then gets up, then gets tackled again. the only reason that game rated so highly is because all australians watch australia play no matter what the sport. i watch us play lawn bowls ffs. and its australian football, hasnt been victorian since before 1990.
rxonez1 6 months ago
@rxonez1 locks are the tall players who win ball at lineouts, skillful catchers with good vertical leaps.
brumbieskickarse 6 months ago
@brumbieskickarse the afl doest rob any kind of rugby its players we all know players can change codes or more often the absolute fittest rugby players can undertake a shite load of training to try and change codes but then not making it because they are only used to playing for about half an hour per game rather than almost 2 hours as an afl game is! if you dont like afl dont watch afl related videos and dont make smartarse comments unless you could actually play elite level afl which i doubt!
QwkSlva 5 months ago
@QwkSlva well they could change codes, but I have never heard of any rugby players doing so. A few rugby league players have though. Most rugby players play 80 mins. And I'm not sure they would need extra fitness as the game involves a lot of running and wrestling (tackling, mauling etc) not just running around jogging with the odd sprint here and there.
brumbieskickarse 5 months ago
@chocoroyal If I want to see the ball bouncing around everywhere and scores so high that they lose their entertainment 'impact' I'll watch basketball. Cross country basketball (AFL) has peaked, and in all the years it has existed has managed to grow from Vic to Perth lol
