This isn't the whole match. I bet you haven't seen it. Milan scores a goal in the 4th minute, and after that they kept defending. Robben had a few very good chances, and he GOT past Taiwo, but that's not on the video.

Maybe he didn't want to injure Robben, but that was a foul. Robben couldn't play for 4 weeks after that match.

He got fed up with all the injuries he kept getting, and in conjunction with Real Madrid wanting him, Arjen needing a change, and Chelsea getting fairly good money, it was in the interest of all parties for the deal. By and large, though, the club clearly wanted to keep him, but when a RM president comes calling, it's difficult for any player's head to not be turned, and this is basically what happened. He was sold for 25 million.
