  • My parents had this for their wedding song, and im proud my dad told me about it, so now I hope when I get married, this also will be MY wedding song, just like them.

  • all i can say is just wow... this song has made my day yesterday and i had no words to say

  • The 5 people that clicked dislike were recently divorced.

  • Such a beautiful song, there is so much truth in this song it cuts straight to the heart. Sung like a true poet pens words to paper, thanks Don Henley for so many great songs

  • Sung at our wedding, danced to "Taking you home" by him too. Love that voice.

  • Yes, jwd, this is how music is supposed to be made...pure, raw, talent

  • great song ! wanna use it on my wedding day...

  • Im only 15, and ive been listening to Don and the Eagles sense i was born. Thanks dad for giving me some amazing music.

  • if you ask me Inside Job was the best album he ever made , this song is on there and its damn awesome

  • @rohan7040 i agree

  • @emeyhendo18

It can be your waltz song, or he don't need to marry you

  • Totally made me cry...I can't believe I've never heard this beautiful song before...

  • ..un po' di "poesia" non guasta mai..di questi tempi..grazie Don Henley..

  • Married in 2008 , this and Taking you Home, our wedding songs and it will forever be timeless as it was the very first time I heard it years and years ago. I was 48 years old and he is 8 years younger than me. I can tell you the readers that when you have lived life for a while the words to these two songs really have deep meaning, and we have a great appreciation for them both. Thanks and God bless.

  • @ronluecker

They were both our songs too at our wedding. My husband sang this and played the guitar. Much happiness to you..

  • Nobody puts up with honesty in the long run.

  • My parents and I want this to be my bridal waltz but my boyfriend hates it. :'( I was so disapointed....

  • @emmyhendo18 Sounds like thats grounds for separation, lol. Just kidding...but no, seriously, haha. Maybe I'm just a Henley fan....

  • Probably the best male vocalist of the last 40 years- not to mention the several classics he's written that will be long remembered.

  • MY friends brother sing this song and he won the "first round" of IDOL 2011 in SWEDEN!!!

    THANK U

  • I sang this song (and my best friend played the guitar), at my wedding 10 years ago. Our first dance was to "Taking you Home", which is our song.

  • @Bill1122 me to taking you home was my wedding song..we often listen to it me and my husband!!!

  • @Bill1122

My husband played this song on the guitar and sang it at our wedding too....and...."Taking You Home" was our first dance song too.......how wonderful......I wish you a lifetime of happiness.......

  • bellissima canzone e bravissimo il cantante!

  • Beautiful.Love it.

  • This tune was wrote by Larry John McNally who use to show me his favorite guitar chords when I was a teenager growing up in Bangor, Maine many years ago.He is still putting out great songs and is a wonderful cat who has followed his dandalion soul without letting the hype and pawn of the music industry drown his vision.I just heard songs off two of his currant CDs FOLK SINGER and BUDDY HOLLY,on his website and have to say hes never been better.A unique talent in a computer world and INSPIRING..

  • i love this song..wish i would find my special someone soon,

  • A true master of his art - a composer, singer and musician - with, in my view , very few equals. He has this very rare ability to mix very meaningful lyrics with messages, and political, environmental and personal statements..These are matched to wonderful, classy, enduring compositions which result in truly iconic songs. His music will endure - both as a founding member of the Eagles, and as a solo artiste.Thank you Don - for many brilliant songs.

  • I love this song.... and wish everyone would listen to it before the take the talk down the aisle...

  • absoulutly epic song

  • Great!!!!

  • This is truly one of the beautiful songs I have ever heard.

  • k.k.

  • for my danielle de mon coeur

  • yes he is like stevie nicks and also like jackson browne and phil collins the older music i love so much and its nice to see them still playing and singing to thia day. its all about the lyrics--words--the life then seems to be so similar to now--everyones still looking for someone and sanctuary of my heart is one of my fav's its all about the WORDS music will never die like so-called LOVE....Thomas 2011 finger lakes ny

  • Henley is a musical genius, but he and the rest of the Eagles led the charge for turning concert tours into big money grabs, locking out younger generations who simply could not afford even the cheapest of their tickets. They were the watershed band in this respect. Add to that the fact that Henley looks like some nasty punk on the playground with an eternal chip on his shoulder, and the aesthetic failure is complete. Nice tune though. I suppose personalities should not matter, but they do.

  • eagle will be eagle!

  • Modern day Thoreau! Gifted writer, musician, artist. Truth pours out of his pen. It makes you feel, think & wonder. Awakens the soul. Life without music would be a mistake.

  • Boring zzzzzzz.

  • My grandmother and I were in the car yesterday and we were talking about my recently deceased grandfather to whom she was married for 55 years... This song was on the radio and I nearly started bawling.

  • don come back...we need you...........

  • i deamed claire

  • every time im out with my mates they allways say i look like don henley mainly coz i like his style they allways say man you could pass off as his son not that, that has anything to do with anything..

  • @FpsGameMaster91 And you havent tried to get some hush money off him by pretending to be his long forgotten child? Psh

  • i will never get married ..but this is the song that would make it worth it and explain it all for me

  • My FH and I's first dance song. Speaks on many different levels to both of us.

  • i am 15 and when i get married i want this song and for the after party smells like teen spirit

  • This was played on my wedding day....10 years ago tomorrow

  • Don Henley may be the best singer songwriter to ever live, his voice is amazing and the depth of his lyrics are beyond comparison!

  • The "Inside job" album is great!!... Love this song.

  • Don't forget Larry John McNally who wrote this piece. Lovely work.

  • Don Henley is the master...amazing song...

  • Tomorrow is my wedding day & this is all I ask ....

  • Don Henley --- a classe de sempre!!!!

  • IF I get remarried, I WILL walk down the isle to this!

  • Linda música! *-*

As músicas do Don Henley é simplesmente demais! ♥

  • I love the song, the lyrics, the rythm etc. I will share it with my wife.

  • I agree!!! The words mean a lot...my soon to be husband played this for me and I knew we would have to use it for our wedding on Jan 1, 11. Thanks Don for such wonderful music :-)

  • @ladybugluver37 How was it? Hope all went well and congrats!

  • WOW!

  • What A great song!!! Although this version has a little more steel guitar in it than the album version, I like both versions. This song was released as a single to country radio in 2000, but it didn't become a big hit. WTF!? This should have been a big hit regardless of format!! Anyone who denies great music like this from being heard, shame on you, you have no concept!!!

  • @bcm12079

    Couldn't agree more!!

  • wow, I never knew about this song. It's so true. We always want better than what we have and some times we don't realize until we have lost it, that perhaps the best was already in our midst and we just let it go. Make the best of what you have and it will be the best, and it will be enough. They say the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, but what is the cost of making it and keeping it green when compared to the destruction of a family?

  • @tessakib

    so well put...thumbs up

  • ...Don Henley...Eagles...la classe...di sempre...

  • Amen.

  • My daughter used this song on her wedding 10/10/10. Aaron and Angela Alpert Congratulations! I love you honey and I wish all the best for both of you.

  • The end of an era in my life.. This song had such meaning in for me in my past. I really thought this song was written for another person in my life" to want what we have and take what's given with grace".

Kathy I loved you and in some way I still do.. but this song was not for you. I go back in my mind to Eureka Springs in 2008 to my wedding day with the love of my life now, Beth- "so what makes this so different than all the others who have tried & failed before us" I love U Beth- Woody

  • Love this!

  • WTF! WMG finally understood that people would like to hear music from their label out here too!!??? =D

Love this song. I Tried to post it years ago because it wasn't out here, but WMG had a LOT of bad hairdays ; )

    I'm glad somebody woke up...

Thanks Don for all your beautiful songs. They all have something to say

  • This song belongs to denise and i.

  • These are the words.....and this is the way......I can dream........and I have prayed....somewhere deep within me......and you have arrived.....and it is my intention to honor what has somehow happened to me....with the best of me everyday.......and further.....to keep searching and striving......and to do it all with your hand in mine....

  • How come this VIDEO, as well as others of Henley's, is not accessible on ITunes?

  • This is a very meaningful song. It has helped me make some life decisions. I have learned to want what I have, and to take what I am Given with Grace, long ago. Therefore, since love is not an option in the relationships that I have or that I attract, I will never get married again. I will embrace the moments to Pray. I am Grateful that I have the Love that it takes to make it out there. I will never be alone and I will be Free to love people, even though they do not love me back.

  • It is good to know that this very beautiful song was composed by the talented Larry John McNally...

Don was really inspired for choosing this song to record it...

  • Simply great...a very inspired song...

  • wow, I am speechless and have tears in my eyes. Didnt know that Don could do any better than he already has all these years. I take my hat off to you and bow in respect.

  • thank God - a modern lyrically real wedding song! Great one!

  • Wow-This is one beautiful song one of the Best!

  • I walked out to this song during my wedding. It was my 2nd and last marriage. It seemed to speak to my feelings and how I was leaving my past behind. I can listing over and over...

  • Henley is the best!

  • don's got demons but man is he talented...what a voice and song

  • a very sincere song about finally settling down i guess! something you have to deal with eventually ,not me personally i might add.i.m 48 and still don,t know what i want!great job if you have ! nice summer tune with the excellent dean parks on guitar!!

  • Doesn't get any better. Thanks Don.

  • Wonderful, beautiful song and lyrics.......however, I was disappointed in this video. Love the shots of Henley singing and the band.........but the "pretty people" in the shots in between seem oddly fake, almost like the look of a commercial....anyone know what I mean?

  • For my Bride Khristi Gail Baskin aka Mrs. Wells,we wandered 30 years and found each other again,I love you as much now as that summer of 1969 always and forever

  • Extremely poignant. Henley has aged like a fine cabernet.

  • I truely love this song and if I ever get married again this is what I want played.

  • My wife Patty & I got marred on August 7 , 2009. This was the 1st song we played in the church and I will always remember the love I felt as she walked down the isle. Love you babe!

  • Goddamn. Who has Dirty Laundry up anywhere?

  • @CatGameDaiyE wheres The Sad Cafe?....thats what i wanna know...
