There seems to be a Double standard held against the UPC then other denominations. When I came into the church, I was an atheist. I only went because my mother had asked me to go just once. And when I went, I met the nicest and most loving of all people. I've been to other denominational churches and never met such caring and holy people. And today, 5 years later, I still attend NewLife Church. It wasn't because of brainwashing or being forced to go. It was because God truly is there.

Not totally understanding what you want as far as this "contest" is concerned. God presented himself in the bible in many ways, as far as "in written word" thats the bible. As far as in word period, that was Jesus. Jesus was the word in fleshly form (John 1:1).
You cannot use the bible to proove the bible. That is called "Circular Logic" Its like me saying "I am the best looking guy on earth, if you dont belive me, just ask me!" You are on a fools errand if you are trying to proove the bible with the bible.
i think you can give evidence for the bible from the bible, because the bible is actually collection of books and letters.
eg. if something is written in one of the gospel accounts, and then we have record of peter, another eye witness sending a letter to someone speaking of the same event, then that is evidence in favor of the event.
Another interesting way is to look at messianic prophecy in the old testament and compare that with the new testament and extra biblical sources.
Furthermore, you cannot pull Jesus out either, a character IN the Bible, to proove the bible. That would be like me saying, "I am the most handsome man alive, if you dont belive me just ask the hairy dude that lives in my imagination!"

I have a question... why does the UPCI still hold to the old doctrine of women not wearing any makeup, no jewlery, and not wearing pants (outside the church, of course, not inside the house of God)... I am a lifelong member of the Pentecostal Asseblies of the World, Inc (PAW) and the majority of the National Church let go of that doctrine almost 20 years ago! (Im not trying to start an argument, just want some enlightment, thats all)
In my years of growing up in the upc it was a control issue. However the church I grew up in men couldnt wear beards unless you paid out the wazoo in tithes then they let certain ones wear beards or get away with shenanigans.
That is because we have let go of the standard. We are the "peculiar people." We don't need to bring the world into the church. We were set free from things of that nature. It's crazy to let go of the doctrine. It is way too precious. Remember Jesus paid the price, not Maybelline or Levi's.

Cultures might change but the Word doesnt. Ones you toss out holiness (inside and out) other things eventually will follow.

I'm 18 so I really just grasped the concept of the difference between the AOG and UPC. I thought we were the same except one group spoke in tongues more than the others. But I was told I was Hellbound because I wasn't baptised n the Name of Jesus using that same scripture. I wish that scripture wasn't used against other Christians. Because Heinlein actually sat down and WROTE words on a typewriter and put forth his ideas and ideals. When has God ever done that? I will send One Hundred Dollars to anyone who can show me where God presented Himself to human beings in written word, video, audio, etc. ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS CASH. The level of 'pomp' and 'dazzle' in the UPCI is becoming disturbing. Where is the return to the simplicity that is Christ? As a former preacher in this faith the entrenchment of human pride and arrogance runs rampant. Where has the humility, kindness, and the bearing of fruit gone? No where for the world to see where it can beckon to a lost, cold, and injured/dying world. Wonder if Jesus likes the supersized plasma/LCD screens...or was that to edify man.

I have a question... why does the UPCI still hold to the old doctrine of women not wearing any makeup, no jewlery, and not wearing pants (outside the church, of course, not inside the house of God)... I am a lifelong member of the Pentecostal Asseblies of the World, Inc (PAW) and the majority of the National Church let go of that doctrine almost 20 years ago! (Im not trying to start an argument, just want some enlightment, thats all)

In my years of growing up in the upc it was a control issue. However the church I grew up in men couldnt wear beards unless you paid out the wazoo in tithes then they let certain ones wear beards or get away with shenanigans.

That is because we have let go of the standard. We are the "peculiar people." We don't need to bring the world into the church. We were set free from things of that nature. It's crazy to let go of the doctrine. It is way too precious. Remember Jesus paid the price, not Maybelline or Levi's.

Hebrews 12:14, "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord." Deuteronomy 22:5 "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God." it might be old, but its still the Bible way. Cultures might change but the Word doesnt. Ones you toss out holiness (inside and out) other things eventually will follow.

Pentecostals change the rules all the time. I was in a pentecostal church for 21 years. They allowed ministers who beat their wives,homosexuals to still minister. As long as people pay big bucks in tithes, they allow anything and everything.

WHAT! we are so not racist im hispanic and i have not been treated differently. there are many asian black, white mexican etc. people in church and we all get along just fine. I dont know where you got your information from TheGodshandkiller and by your name i probably have a pretty good idea. MY dad is a pastor and he preaches english and spanish he says if he could speek 4 he would preach in 4 languages. Color doesnt matter.

You people are retarted. I go to an UPC in Tucson are there are many kinds of people. Black, White, Mexican, Indians, Etc. and even when I go to other UPC Churches there's always many different nationalities. And I know they aren't racists cuz I'm Mexican and they don't treat me different cuz of it.

I'm a UPC Pastor and I've never heard anyone say that..Yes we reject the old Roman teaching of the trinity, but we don't judge you or anyone else for what you believe...Sorry if you think that but it's not true. Neither myself or anyone else is your judge. I myself used to be trinitarian until I studied it for myself and quit listening to my denomination. One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and father of all who is above all, through all and in you all. Praise God.

I'm 18 so I really just grasped the concept of the difference between the AOG and UPC. I thought we were the same except one group spoke in tongues more than the others. But I was told I was Hellbound because I wasn't baptised n the Name of Jesus using that same scripture. I wish that scripture wasn't used against other Christians. We have gotten so vindictive I don't think God has favor with a lot of us.
