  • Facts are (& I am OLD & remember) this song was NOT a war protest song but was written over Riots. But it is also a FACT that if you wake up & look around this is happening today, Americans daily are losing more & more of their freedoms-as the liberal government sucks up more & more power.

  • no matter what the inspiration 4 the song was, it is an excellent song!

    Timothy

    :o)

  • Though often mistaken for an anti-war song, it was in fact the “Sunset Strip riot” which inspired then Buffalo Springfield band member Stephen Stills to write “For What It’s Worth,” recorded about three weeks after on December 5th, 1966.

  • what are you fighting for?

  • It's funny how everyone thinks this is an Anti-War song and it's not. This song is about the Sunset Strip Riots.

  • Paul Ralston 'Life' in words

    facebook/pages

  • lol. i just analyzed this song in my canadian history class (although i know its based on american stuff). vvvery interesting song. and circumstances.

  • Classic song, love it, and i had just put a cover of it on youtube, check it out, i would really appreciate it, rock on buffalo

  • War on terror? War is terror!!! great line!

  • That Vietnam Grass, Its what lost the war Mann.

  • Let's remember there was a draft going on. My husband received his draft notice the day he graduated from college. he died two years ago from an agent orange related disease.

  • great song love america

  • The truth about the world is that war is inevitable. without war the world would be overpopulated people would died of mass starvation and horrible living conditions. its the ugly truth but war is a necessary evil and to be honest it gives the explosive "enthusiast" something to do. this is my opinion and i hope some will agree with me and argue logically, not flame me

  • the best communist slogan EVAH! do not ask what your country can do for you, ask what your country can do for you!!! wtf i thought the US wanted to fight communism but looks like there the commi's!

Fuck communism dont forget over 100 milion deads cause of communism

  • @gitarist666 u do know that a quote from JFK right?

  • Oh my!

Kinda like tea partiers carrying weapons to town halls!

  • Oh my!

Kinda like tea partiers carrying weapons to town halls!

  • "Nobody's right if everybody's wrong" So simple yet such an amazing lyric. This is brilliant

  • i cannot believe how idiotic all you radical anti-war idiots are....I also hate when all of you idiots say that war is needed to uphold a capitalist system America's hardest times are when we are at war....we also go to war to protect people...not to kill the inocent which so many people believe (we protected the south vietmanese, iraqi inocent).

  • @Bl3ss3dHomicid3

Yeah, those who are innocent according to your country’s definition... Do you create peace with bloodshed?

  • @Felixnr1 Yes the innocent....the iraqi citizens where getting brutally tortured and punished by the Iraqi gaurd... i have seen some incredibly grusome video of this...there are those who wish to inflict their evil ways on the world and violence is needed to supress these radicals because they do not listen to reason and are masters in proaganda

  • 2 Taliban's members disliked this.

  • @gaulucky92 4 actually

  • first marine recon! SEMPER FI!

  • 2 commie bastards disliked

  • @HurtSoFuckingGood I love it! Brings back memories, some good, some bad. but I wouldn't trade that time for anything!

  • great anti-war song and a great anti-war video but why did you have to post that question under it , that suggests that it could be something else.

  • to me, this song is a tribute to those who had no choice but to go and fight a war between two empires, the USA and the USSR, they were drafted, (I was an Army volunteer in the 80's), and to those who stood up and said no more

  • i like how the song is anti war, and you say that this is a tribute to our armed forces

  • @bigxhulk actually i didn't say it was a tribute to armed forces the only thing i said was that if u couldn't figure out what its about then u didnt need to know u notice the question mark? i mean it as a question not as a statement its for u to decide what the video + song is about

  • @bigxhulk ill tell you what its about, its about something that should never happen. everybody argues over weather war is right or not, you want to make a tribute to us tell congress to bring us home and end the fucking killing.

  • @bigxhulk its about the goddamn veitnam war

  • @bigxhulk the war is waged not by soldiers but by those who make people into soldiers

  • I dont feel this song was a tribute was to the Armed Forces. Music from the era was heavily anti-war/ anti-military. I believe this song has been given a great injustice. But i still respect the video.

  • Written by a group of man-children who grew up in the "hate AmeriKKKa" time. The sixties helped destroy this county as well as spawn a massive amount of hippie lawyers and judges that now serve in todays court system and help weaken the country via its laws.

  • @Minionuup Hey, you know how you could just say that, you know, freedom of speech.

Yeah, they had that back in 60's.

I don't know if you heard of it, because you seem like an ignorant asshole.

But hey, that's just my 2 cents.

  • @Minionuup America's been destroyed? Really? Damn, I must have missed that chapter in my history books.

Tell me, on what date did America cease to exist?

  • @ManicParroT It stopped when you asses put a camel jockey in power! Some of the sences were taken when our own killed our students at Kent. Read your history, I have lived it,.

  • @Minionuup And you got your information .....where? I lived thru the 60's and it's the best era ever. We had freedom of speech, we had God in the schools and at our games. Oh ya, and the constitution was still in force.

I don't want to hear it. You all came over on boats and our people greeted you. Then you kill thousands, herd what wouldn't die on land you could do nothing with. You took our land, made us pay taxes, took our food, and on and on. You know NOTHING!!!

  • @Minionuup dude you are right america has been destroyed but you are wrong about who destroyed it ....it was the close minded fucks like

  • pacifism is for women and men without balls! deal with it cowards!

  • @Kingslayer3

I guess you’ve never heard of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Dr. Martin Luther King, or possibly Mother Teresa? No probably not. I do hope your myopia clears up soon though.

  • iraq is our faultit is taking so long cause we armed and trained the mujajadine

  • @djc807 what does this song have to do with iraq? I am sorry that you are so anti war because your to weak willed and pussy footed to not see that some people have values and principles that they are willing to fight for. But you'd probably solve your problems with a biscuit and some tea.

  • @sn0wNwaKe TEA SUX and im not saying any thing anti war im saying its taking so long cuz we trained the mujajadine to fight the soviets

  • Powers, Principalities, and the rulers of the darkness of this world........at work! Whats really happenin!

  • good video, great message. today's war is every bit as bad as the one against the viet kong :P

  • It's neat hun that you made a video like that as a tribute to those in the armed forces!! Thanks for sharing it!
