  • I can't concentrate, can't focus I'm failing all my tests and I'm depressed I want to kill myself

  • Thank goodness I found this clip. I need to learn how to NOT stress, so I can keep my memory.

  • how do you make a mouse to stress?

  • Me: Hey Mrs.Krickpatrick(my thecher)

    Mrs.Krickpatrick: yes?

    Me:Whach this

Mrs.Krikpatrick:Hmmmmmmmm intrasting MOUNTH OFF SCHOOL EVER 1

    Me:YOUR WELCOME EVER 1

  • Great im stressed for an exam and i have to tio remember stuff :(

  • stress is indeed a dangerous beast. but it's everywhere! I've even written a song about it on my channel.

@xastrickxplusx good luck on the SAT! it's been a really long time for me but you can do it. let the people in your meetings know about your conflicts, they can be helpful. just breathe.

  • I'm really stressed now. I'm failing two classes because there are only two grades in for both classes, and have behind the wheel this week but it coincides with an honor society meting to which I don't go to I will get kicked out. However if I don't go to behind the wheel, then I can't get my lesson done and won't be able to get my license. Oh and on top of that I have to take the SAT on Saturday.

  • im stressed but i dont care, i let it be and it heals on its own

  • I learn that working at McDonald's

  • why do mice always have to take the fall for us?

  • what rubbish...how they know, mouse was stressed due to those sounds...if someone starts playing music,it will not always make you stressed, the reason mouse had memory lapse, was because he was distracted by the noise.....not stressed..

  • I'm showing this video to my boss Monday!

  • stressful sounds? stressful music! what ever sound feels stressful to one persons maybe just be a beautiful & soothing music to another...LOL

  • Cute white mouse ....

  • stress is the worst substance for living heath, of course, than tabako, alcohol, marifarna...and so on...

  • so is it the weed that is messing with my memory? or my stress level? I smoke weed to reduce stress.

  • @jjd705

In some (many) cases, weed produces stress, anxiety disorders and so on

  • @NickPyro667 Never heard that. Or is the fact its "illegal" cause some stress, you know in a psychological sense? Smoking herb will give anyone some paranoia but it fades away comically, lol! Cannabis does the exact opposite for me. I'm calm, collective, everyday stresses are not such problems anymore, my mind is clear able to laugh and enjoy life's randomness. But I suppose everyone's different. Prescription medication, tobacco, or alcohol just doesn't really help with stress in the long term.

  • @bennude10

The ''illegal'' part and any anxiety related to it stops when you have the heb in your arms / a safe place; i'm not talking about that. You may want to google ''weed and permanent anxiety''. I'm a heavy tobacco smoker myself and ex-pothead. Like you said, it's not the herb by itself that causes those disorders. It's a combination of that and your lifestyle - psychology and your daily environment.

  • @NickPyro667 hey nickpyro667 im always stressed ad have eye twitch, anyways i been a pothead 4 about two ears now, do u think i shoild quit does it cause permanent anxiety? pot 4 sum reason is not as fun as it used to be anymore

  • @TheMaciel89

Did you you use to be anxious before being a pothead? As you may already know weed, like every psychoactive drug, has different impact on every person. You could make a pause though and see if you feel any better. Also, i'd highly suggest the 'Linden Method', just google it. ;p

  • Yeah, screw all the stressors in my life! :)

  • add more RAM

  • stress affect a person performance aka the brain? wow.. =.=i also discover after oral sex there is a high probability of intercourse.

  • did the announcer just say his name was brian ballsuck? or was i just hearing things?

  • OHHHHHH the swimmy little mousies with their precious little inquisitive noses and furry backs and funny tails and OHHHHHHHH SO CUTE!

OMG, I'm supposed to be studying for my psychobiology exam two days from now and seriously all I can keep in my head is how cute the mice are... o.O

  • Jackie chan..

  • Okay this is pretty obvious and good but what are they going to do to reverse the process?

  • can someone link me to article?

    whats this guys full name?

i wanna read the article he published

  • @yevgander: Here is a better one - Dr. Robert Sapolsky of Stanford University

  • @4chango excellent...... thank you...sapolsky...that guy is the indiana jones of neuropsychology.......smart and hypnotic man. i like the dude......

  • @LFWOL

torture animals to learn how "our" brain works. Totally worth it. :)

  • @LFWOL mice are paid for the job they do, just like humans. Its fun for them anyways, only other aspect of their natural life is survival...

  • Dont Clean Your Toilets People Its Too Stressful

  • @AndrewKH85 funny!!!!

  • @AndrewKH85 Finally an excuse to not clean the toilet.

  • Hey, I'm french and I have to translate this video but I don't understand all the words particularly the interview. Could anyone write what they 're saying please ( in english of course ) ?? Sorry for spelling mistakes...

A study of the Hippocampus revealed that stress makes us forget things, cause mental lapses or slow cell connections to form or use new memories.

  • @LFWOL it's an f'n mouse...

  • 0:16

  • Wht do you need to use rats.Test with humans.I know when i am able to do news paper math quiz- supposed to be done in 30 seconds take longer when i am stressed .

  • @vjpillay You only take thirty seconds longer? I take like an hour. lol

  • I'm 18 and I have white facial hairs-they're not the fine white ones you have all over your body. They're exactly the same as my normal facial hair, only they're completely white instead of black. Could this be caused by stress?

  • @Terrra91 no its caused by ageing or by genetic predisposition. However some people can go pale white after a shock and some cases report that peoples hair would be white as well.

  • @mjufpn thanks

  • @Terrra91 Stress does cause hair to turn white. As a matter of fact, there was this one man who had a full head of black hair, and when he woke up, it was white. Your body stops producing the right type of proteins(?) when under stress. Don't worry, but I would ask your doctor to be sure. :)

  • @RawrgasmsAreFun

Well I've been in and out of counsellin for a bit so it should go away if its stress related

  • @Terrra91: Not always, it could also be related to genetics or poor peripheral circulation.

  • Natural remedy for destressing. I used cd's for sleep, deep relaxation, recovery, breathing; rehearsal, morning and evening. I use the powerful CD's and I am relaxed and sleep naturally – they are really worth weight in gold for self nurture and relaxation, check them out. Jonathan Robert Banks’s Google Relaxationforme

  • @MrFaulconbridge lol some obese person probably took a shit

  • aww look at the mice swiming lol

  • that explains why i can't remember most of my childhood- I was stressed from peer pressure...great

  • Having sex with beautiful women is the best way to relieve stress.

  • agreed

  • So maybe its wrong to say americans are stupid maybe they are just consumed with stress... see y we shouldn't be so quick to judge.

  • If you guys are interested please PM me ur email address so i can invite u 2 a site..

ull get a single email which is the invite all u have 2 do is fill the form with sumthing believable ... or AKA lies and submit. please and thank you.

  • "stressful sounds" ? maybe the mouse was freaked out by the noise, and not just stressed!

  • @tux937534 - being freaked out IS stress, a highly concentrated dose of it. when we're scared, our bodies are stressing out to an extreme degree. think about it

  • it's kind of disgusting watching mice swim...

  • haha, yeah we already knew that stress decreases brain function, but what the scientist are really trying to find out is, why and how so maybe in the future they can find a solution?

  • flipping hell!! i didn't know mice can swim! :))))

  • in sewer, and its not the discovery of swimming mice, its memory of land ! poopie face!

  • Comment removed

  • learn stress control by learning how not to be stressed by anything. done by acceptance, understanding, and alllll the cheesy stuff they've been telling us for years that people think makes them gay if they do

  • Being accepting and understanding is like removing responsibility.

Oh, my child stresses me out, im just going to let them do w/e they want and be accepting of it.

Removing responsibility may reduce stress but it makes you a useless human being. Instead do things that reduce stress AND are healthy, like working out, eating decent food, play games to relax, watch TV after work, have sex with your wife.

  • no no no. you dont do it blindly to everything. that's dumb. no you accept the problem and stop wining in reaction . stop complaining, accept and start problem solving with out a big bag of emotions. understanding helps you accept because all actions have a cause, so accept the cause so you can target the root of the problem. it has nothing to do with removing responsibility

  • all those on your list work, but who wants to do that every single time, are you ever going to face the problem ? those are just distractions. face the problem, fix it , and you'll never have to learn to 'calm down' again because the problem will never happen again.

  • Thats nonsense.

Working out should be done daily anyways. No excuse for not doing it, and has been PROVEN to be the ONLY long term method of solving depression and anxiety problems.

And there is always new problems, etc.

  • its not nonsense

ya working out is always good. we are talking about direct problem solving though

and i wasn't talking chronic depression and anxiety but depression and anxiety from a real cause that can be pinpointed

  • Just to confirm, BUMBASS.

  • Yes, they do. It's called science.

  • Great points. I think we've all had days where stress seems to just build upon itself.

  • HEY! I am doing a project on stress and the brain.

  • how the fuck do we know when a mouse is stressed?

  • Using electrodes to measure brain activity and through blood samples registering stress hormones i guess.

  • Thank you :)

  • i think tho steress hormones still go down the line of how do we know the mouse is stressed lol?

  • he takes zoloft

  • Or the mouse was stressed from all the electrodes being attached by 6 foot tall gorillas in lab coats & also from the huge needles drawing blood samples :-P

  • when you squesh it a little bit but not all the way.

  • @JustinoXProductions: These researchers disrupt their lives to such an extreme that the mice behavior changes.

  • I just could not help laughing at the "stress at home" remark and then a lady scrubbing a toilet...

  • That was a man....check again

  • lol

  • @JustAnotherX I do not think it's a female of our species. I do not see any reason why it should be a woman either.

  • The mouse looked like seamen..white and a flagella =P

  • 06/15/09 This bit of information has been really helpful. I live with a 'bully'. It's kind of like being in 'military training' except it's not productive. There's no structure. It's plain brain washing. SO...I'm always trying to keep myself above water. This stress has caused me to become very incapable. Which only feeds the bully....which then causes me more stress...BIG CIRCLE. I'm currently looking for that 'platform' ... I'm very tired of 'swimming' around....

  • quit being a bitch and hit himm with a weapon

  • Sounds like me at my last job. I was so stressed out that I couldn't remember anything at times and it was also hard to sleep. Even though I was tired. It was hard to sleep cause I always had something on my mind.

By the way. Fuck that bully up. lol I would.

  • Leave its that simple! No excuses,

just go...and have a nice life

  • The rat was awesome in the video....

  • i don't think all stress is just "stress"; in military training, drill is combined w. the threat of humiliation and punishment (certainly a form of stress) to imprint automated behaviors; the purpose of this is simple; in combat, there often isn't time to think; there is only enough time to act; drill makes action automatic and smooth; the learning of these responses is heightened by the deliberate introduction of stress;

  • Yes...I totally agree that stress has a negative impact on our memory and subjective well-being. I find it hard to memorise stuffs for my my exams due to immense stress. However, when I try to relax myself, probably by watching some comedies or listening to my fav music, my memory improve tremendously.

  • @lemonlove9 yea mee .tooo i listen to some tune and my memory increases alot

  • That swimming mouse was awesome

  • yeah it was lol

  • Its soo cool that mice can swim, I'll try it with my mouse.

  • don't 4get to use ur real mouse not ur PC mouse

  • i had a question but then my mom asked me to do the laundry so i forgot my question but then i remembered it. so umm...i forgot my question again because writing this comment was stress. so forget bout it

  • haha. that was actually funny!

  • hehhehe

  • Is this the reason

why I voted for Bush again

    in 2004?

I had so much stress during the previous

four years that I forgot how bad it was and

decided to vote for him again.

  • @Dave985033 just dont make the same mistake with obama

  • Stress can be the demise of humans! I generally can deal with it pretty well but it has not been the case lately..My suggestion:

Yoga, relaxation exercises and learning to say NO! Though I do think a little Omega 3 and vitamins in general can help ease the pressure.( I prefer Neurovi,) can help.

  • Give a few NO at work place, u lose your job and your stress gets doubled!

  • lolz

  • I got severe depression that was realated from stress, stress is hard, and yes, I forgot things XP I got better with meds though (the question is, how long will I be better?)

  • @KimIsMissing: Why don't you try a naturopathic approach, there are many herbs that will correct your depression.

  • Thanks for a lil bit of info..[=

  • whoa mice can swin?

  • How on earth would they get everywhere? Ofcourse they can almost all rodents can like mice can(not all dough)

  • XXD "dough"

  • @fuzzzymaine2

    genetically manipulated can! LOL

  • @fuzzzymaine2 almost every roden can swim thats why they surrvived in ships and got to europe from china

  • @fuzzzymaine2 well some rats live in sewers

  • @fuzzzymaine2

niceone, haha, but the fact that this is poinient and getting 33 thumbs up shows that we re not really ready to hear about how the brain works, if we only just found out that mice can swim.

i did nt know either, which is scary, but shit if ignorance is the cause of all suffering then looks like we got a long way to go.

and, therefore, if sufferering causes stress then you probably wont remember this video/comment. haha

  • Stress makes it hard to think, learn and remember. Well, thank gods the professor is here to tell us these things.

  • and what happens to ppl with ADHD (like me) that doesn't remmember the most basic things like age and current year? :(

  • well they have amphetamines for us which deteriorates the brain. I was on that my whole child hood.

  • well... i wasn't but it is been one of the best things that has happened to me. (i don't aprove giving ritalin to kids... that a desperate measure for when their brain is not as moldable as when they where kids ;) )

  • I meet it now that i'm a grown up, when in a moment in my life when i fell and was lying in the bottom of a dark and deep abyss because of ADHD (whithout knowing it). But the best of the best! has been the personal process of getting over it. ritalin is still good, but i don't think i'll take it any longer. In any case... sorry that you got screw due to your parents... it happens to all of us. :D have a good life!

    Diana

  • Cool finding, but another study of memory and adrenaline (high stress) was done and covered in 60 Minutes not long ago. I believe they got it all the way down to clinical studies with people.
