  • Nice riff :P reminds me a bit of Primus

  • can you play guitar lefty also

  • GOOOD!! Keep it in!

  • @PapaverSomni thanks :)

  • shit yeah would love to jam with you..that's a nice riff you got going there

  • @YouWantMeYouCantPay hey thanks !

  • I bought a Jaguar and it had horrible, horrible, fret and bridge buzz. So bad that I had to take it back. Do mustangs normally have this problem?

  • @technolust14 it's very common for people change the bridges on Jags to the Mustang bridge. So no, definitely not as much. the fret buzz also isn't as bad. maybe you should have just heightened the action a tiny bit to see if that helped? also, did you have the bridge cover on the Jag when you played? sure, it looks cool. but if you take it off, there's barely as much buzz. like, a ridiculous amount less! and the cover also puts it out of tune a bit. which is annoying. hope i have helped!

  • @technolust14 i guess not, mine is okay, but the mustang reissue should not be so expensive, mine was a used one, i will not put all that money in a brand new.

  • @Cortexused I'm looking at a used one also. Mid 90's model.

  • @technolust14 cool

  • Hey man, I'm considering buying a Fender Mustang 1965 Reissue from Musician's Friend, do you know if it is Japanese Manufacture? It's price is $939.99...

  • @paladin598

hey, yes all reissues are from Japan, but try to find one not that expensive, they shouldn't be at that price !

  • @paladin598 I was thinking about buying one from a retail store for the same price, but I kinda think that's a ripoff. I could get a better made mustang for cheaper elsewhere.

  • I'm thinking of modifying my Mustang. Do you think it will sound good with a Dimarzio Injector single coil on the neck and a Dimarzio Super Distortion on the bridge ?

  • @Bruno7M oh i guess !

  • hey m8 please can you tell me that can a humbucker pick up be installed on a mexican strat to get a heavier sound??

  • @butt4242 yep sure, go ahead !

  • @Cortexused I have a jaguar I frankenstiened with three single coil humbuckers from carvin and a floyd rose. My mustang has a humbucker in it and it sounds just as good as that. He did have a great idea!

  • @dealorn Cool, yeah great idea

  • @butt4242 yep, sure ! But if you don't want you can first try 10-52 strings, your sound will be really heavier...

  • I don't like the idea of a humbucker in a Mustang.

  • @fudgingtonshitsworth, i love it, kurt had a great idea, it looks really good and sounds amazing !

  • @fudgingtonshitsworth I like the Humbucker, because i always find Fender guitars very twangy trebly instruments, unlike rivals Gibson are alot more thicker heavier sound, the Humbucker in this case helps this Fender Mustang have the trebly sound at the same time as it being heavy :) which is perfect for the style of music that Nirvana played :D

  • very nice man!!! i may buy one mustang in christmas.. i play guitar for 2 years and i have 2 strats.. is it real that mustang has smaller freds than a usuall guitar??

  • @stavroswrc thanks man, hum, what is freds? U mean frets? What i can tell you is the neck is less longer than a strat but the frets are the same

  • @Cortexused yes i meant frets.. sorry.. thanks for the information..

  • @stavroswrc okay, you're welcome

  • i feel soundgarden

  • Cool

  • @ricochetfuzzy same here. The drop d adds to it. Cornell loved to play drop.

  • i like ur pickguard

  • yeah me too, really beautiful

  • I love this sound, is it fuzz???

  • hey cool, thanks, it's the DS-2 turbo distorsion

  • nope, confusion... i meant it's a Boss DR-880, the beat machine you ear, with guitar effects.

  • you've got the exact colors i want! white body and a blue pickguard! amazing :) i've got the classic red body and white pickguard. i'd trade it for a white body though.

  • ahh...then it must be dropped d! It's kinda confusing because it sounded a lot darker in my ears. I think I'll start to play around with dropped d too xD

  • that's fucking awsome, I really like that sound.

How did you tune your guitar?

  • hey thanks a lot i appreciate, i don't know how you say in english, but i'm tuned like kurt when he play Heart Shaped Box so... Maybe open D???

  • its called drop d

  • thanks for that

  • wow wicked

  • thanks

  • Plz it´s possible to send me a tabs of the main riff ? I ´m in love with this sound and I´m listening this song all day :-D

  • hey thanks a lot, i really appreciate. What i suggest is you learn it by ear, last time i used tabs was maybe 10 years ago, i won't be able to do that

  • Is this cover, or it´s your own song ? I like it a lot !!!!!!!!!! I´ve got Mustang too and I want the same sound. Thank you for the video.

  • hey thanks, yeah it's me improvising, so you'll like the other one, "improvisation mustang"

    Thx for watching

  • Lefty Stratocaster, Righty Mustang... Hmm. Did you have the Strat restrung to righty or do you play both lefty and righty?

  • sure the strat is up side down, don't you see it?

  • No, I can't tell just how the strings are. It is rather difficult. Thanks for replying quickly though.

  • aight you're welcome

  • i thought you watched my other vids

  • well I got it because I didnt want to carve the mustang body to fit a humbucker, so I got the Single Coil Sized Humbucker Hotrail, which Cobain used in his mexican strats, it's the same as a full size humbucker, same output if you have 500k pots.

  • yeah i see

  • cool licks dude, I got a seymour duncan Hot Rail in my 69 mustang, makes a big difference

  • thanks, what kind of difference, is it better?

  • Oh I apologize, I didn't mean it's makes a difference from your guitar, I ment it makes a difference from The Stock Single Coils.

  • oh okay yes

  • its better for a strat rather than a mustang

  • thanks for the answer. which website?

    i need this pickguard ;-)

  • can't remember, try google : blue pearl pickguard !

  • forget it, "Pickguard Heaven"

  • Well done. nice blue pickguard, selfmade?

  • hey thanks, no, ordered in Us, on a web site

  • that wouldnt make a difference in the sound right?

  • the white jb is called tb-4? but the black 1 is sh-4? a little confusing

  • a tb is a trembucker, thus has trem spacing, for cases where the distance betweens the outer strings is 53mm instead of 50 :)

  • nice............i loved it

  • Thanks

  • correct me if im wrong but arent all S D jbs all sh-4 jb?

  • oh man i just don't know

  • yes.

  • i like that AMP

  • i kno u have JB. but are they the sh-4 JBs??

  • yeah

  • thanks so much. im putting them in my jag stang

  • cool, u're welcome

  • did you have to route out the body to fit the humbucker

    ?

  • yes

  • oh damn i loved it.

  • Cool, thanks !

  • That was damn good.

  • thank you

  • Comment removed

  • nice playin man. du recon its nesesery to get a mustang or search around with my strat to get both distorted and clean sort of nirvana sound?

  • i don't know, if you can buy an other, it's great have 2 kind of guitar. But if you can't right now yeah, a strat can be perfect too

  • thanks man

  • Sounds like it has a little Arabian sound to it...awesome...

  • hey thanks, yeah, i luv arabian music, sounds good in a grunge way

  • Amazing grunge sound! Awesome dude! 5 stars and three thumbs up!!!

  • Hey thank you man !

  • good video, like it alot, but preffer that classic sound on a guitar like that, a jazz meets funk feel would sound great. if you ever put anything like that up tell me.

  • yeah i can play funk, okay

  • Dude, you seriously sound exactly like me when I jam in drop d, I even have a Mustang with JB Humbuckers though I hardly play it, I prefer my SG and Fat Strat.

    Cool shit

  • Cool, thanks

  • I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for playing this! :) You are an inspiration! And you also helped me decide which guitar I want... :)

  • man I'm getting one of these this week I hope I have a 69 ri thinline tele mim that I am trading for it candy apple red or just red I'm not sure I played one the other day it reminded me of my old jagstang I shoot myself every day for getting rid of it maybe I can redeem myself with this thanks for the showing the capability of this awesome guitar later man mike

  • aight you're welcome

  • but yours one is an american or a japan mustang?

  • japanese

  • hi cortexused, have you any problem with the tune of the strings of the mustang?did they go out of tune easily during playing your guitar?

  • hi man, no, absolutely not, she's just perfect, but i ear sometimes people complaining about that, maybe i'm lucky with mine, on this vid i'm just tuning the first string cause it was not really good. Sorry for my english...

  • hey was that a full step down? or a half step? good job?

  • hum, just like Heart Shaped Box, is it full step down? don't know

  • omg you rule is there any tabs for this or what song is it or just you rocking out ;D

  • thank you, yeah just improvisation

  • hey man! NIIIICE guitar!

you're not playing through any distortion pedals are you, that's just the disortion that comes with it, right? cause it sounds sweeeeeet!!

  • the distorsion that comes with it? what d'u mean? no i'm playing through a beat machine, it gives many guitar effects too, it's one of the distorsions

  • he asked you to make a video of you playing solos with the mustang :p

  • oh okay, i'm french, can't understand everything...

  • what?

  • First comment, my request. =D Nice, crunchy sounds you got there. Now, for some nice bitchin' leads on that bad boy! lol
