Nice job Bjorn... I used to have a bootleg of this from back in the days when Gilmour played On the Run with his guitar... I wish someone could post it if they have it... there is one posting of it, but there is much better version...great job otherwise...
i was wondering is their any sound difference with the old and new version of the sixties im about to buy one and want to know because they offer old and new version. im thinking new. newer parts hasn't been sitting around. thanks.
Hey nice playing man, right now i'm getting really in to David Gilmour's style. and trying to draw form his and make one of my own (not that i think i'll ever ba as good, just for fun) but i was wondering , i'm gonna be building a custom guitar, and between the CS fat 50's pups and the CS 69 pups which are closer to a DG tone?
Depends on the amp. The clean channel on mine has lots of headroom on mine so it works OK but the pedal is designed for tube amps so I wouldn't recommend it for solid states. Sounds wonderful on my Sound City 50w tube.
It's an old overdrive pedal that David used between 1972-80. You can hear it on the rhythms on Time and Money from Dark Side, Shine On, Have a Cigar, Sheep, Pigs....
I have had it for almost three years and it is incredible. Perfect through my Marshalls. Never played a mojo -- don't need to, but I'm sure it sounds nice also. The mojo can use a pedal to adjust the speed; for the MJM I just use my toe on the big knob. MJM is a dead on copy of the Univibe.
Great work man! Just a quick question: Since Dark Side of the Moon was released in 1973, was the recording you're basing this on played before the official album release?
Let me elight you: Many bands not only Pink Floyd show some of their upcoming work in concerts, For example in the '75 tour there was a song called You Gotta Be Crazy that then changed into Dogs as you can see it was played 2 years before the album release
Yes. Pink Floyd performed Dark Side throughout 1972. A whole year before it was released. Most of the songs sounded quite different to what ended up on the album.
i want that sound sobad i have a special edition koa strat with the seymour duncans could i be able to get a good 72 gilmour sound with that please and what other pedals can i use to get that sound please reply
thanx man, i asked coz im gonna buy a new wah pedal and i was thinking about the vox v847 or the original crybaby, so youre article says any vintage wah, am i correct? so both of em would work right?
The Travel Sequence was On the Run....a jammed bluesy stuff in E minor...they used to play it like that in '72...after that they came with the idea of the synth version.
Yeah, kind of a blues shuffle thing at the end there. The early versions from Febuary/March are much more "down" and jazzy with a electric piano solo from Wright etc...
Great! I'm trying to improvise the Travel Section, but I don't know that part at 1:30. Which one are those three chords? Thanks!

Nice Bjorn! Interesting Clean with the Harsh tone of the Colorsound.
May i ask something? It would be nice to use and TS9 to boost a Silicon Fuzz Face? Thanks.
noveleiro 3 years ago
Yes you could although I think that true bypass pedals works better with fuzz units. Buffered pedals tend to brighten the fuzz tone.
