Ah this brings back memories. Used to play in a group back in the '60s and we were on the same bill as The Fentones (without Shane) on two occasions. Once was the Majestic Ballroom in Crewe but I can't remember where the other one was. They were even better live than they were on record.
@SirBasildeBrush Yes I have some great memories of those times. The original name was Dene Wayne and the Exiles but our agent later made us change to The Magic Moments, a name all four of us absolutely hated!
@BradBrassman Whoops! Actually, I have it on my Shane Fenton & The Fentones CD. I was just looking at my Fentones CDs. Would you like me to upload it?
wow not heard this in stereo before again one of my all time fave instros i met Bill Bonny a few times at "pipeline convention" what a niceguy lives in Canada now and has done for sometime, allways found time for a chat//thanks SBB//
This is the type of enjoyable tune I would hear on the local college radio station's "Instrumental Surf" programs usually played on Saturday nights!! :-)
The Fentones play nice guitars. However, The Jokers' Tabou is still my favorite guitar instrumental (to date), and for that, I appreciate your posting of it!
This is like my current theme music. lol. ps, I'm Mexican

@bassmanpedro1 I'd go with the former as well, Magic Moments is a bit twee. Got any recordings from those days?
SirBasildeBrush 6 months ago
@SirBasildeBrush I do have a couple of originals that we recorded plus a cover of This Time, originally by Troy Shondell.

Hey Bas, do you know if they recorded "Magic" as a single, or was it just a special for "Play it Cool"?
BradBrassman 1 year ago
@BradBrassman It featured as a B-side on "Cindy's Birthday".

@SirBasildeBrush Shame. I love the film one but want to hear the recorded version. Does it have that thumping bass throughout?

@brokenbeard1 You certainly know a lot of these singers and musicians I feature. Surely one of everyone's favourite instrumentals.

Shane Fenton was the bigger name. He re-invented himself as a bigger star in the early seventies as Alvin Stardust.

Bello. They are similar to the Shadows (that I love).
