I do know some Christians who believe the theory you pose and it fits into their belief systems, but there is no history recorded before 6000 years ago. That's a fact. So what evidence are you speaking of? If it's radiocarbon dating, it depends upon radiation making it untrustworthy.
@vudumojo the fact of radiocarbon dating issue can be danced around, so let me ask you about how you think the sites of Ajanta Caves in India, Churches of Lalibela in Ethiopia, and City of Baalbek in Lebanon were created with the technologies of the time? Such as the Ajanta Caves being carved directly of a cliff face. And with Churches of Lalibela being created out of a single stone. Or the fact that parts of Baalbek being Vitrified?

Having said that, God has always existed, the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last. He has and will always exist. So yes, in a manner of speaking time is endless in both directions, from GOD'S point of view. However, there was a day when God CREATED THE EARTH and all that are on it around 6000 years ago.

I've only just begun Enoch and it seems like you're misinterpreting it. i may be wrong but it seems that Enoch is only recounting the events of his time which was pre-flood. He doesn't seem to glorify the fallen angels. it actually seems the opposite. He tells of their descent which was their sin and how they spread sin and evil into God's world by laying w/ women and spreading evil.

I've never heard of a Book of Enoch. I'd heard of a few "lost gospels" (the Gospel of Thomas, the Gospel of Judas, etc), but I regard them as rubbish. The sixty-six books in the traditional translations are what I recognize as truth.

Antediluvian script, of there is much carved on rocks etc. is not known to modern man. Languages were confounded after the flood, so no man today speaks or can write the antediluvian language. So even if Enoch had written this book, he could not have written it in Hebrew or any modern language! We do not know the pre-flood language, Enoch could not have known modern languages, therefore this book could not have been written by Enoch!

Just a couple of points you may wish to consider. Enoch was an anti-deluvian man so he lived and was taken before the flood.Before the flood there was no Persia or Grecia. In the book of Daniel, Gabriel is telling Daniel about an empire about to go down and another empire about to come to power. Also that these empires are of the enemy. This passage is akin to prophecy and not history. The apocrypha is ultimately the creation of a Roman emperor.

@brandonmartin91 The Geneva Bible, unlike all "modern translations" used at least many of the same autographs and libraries. This is a good thing; it's closer to the KJV. Modern translations aren't even translated from the same Bible.
There are some MYTHS floating around about the Puritans preferring the Geneva Bible you should be aware of though.
The Puritans were the people who REQUESTED the KJV in the first place so these rumors are just out of complete ignorance.

@chaoshawk69 My faith is not blind my friend. About half of biblical prophesies have ALREADY come to pass. The remaining prophesies shall come to pass. No other document, no man, can make such claims. There is also historical, archeological and scientific proofs that the Bible is indeed the word of God.

Apocrypha by definition means false so when it was included in the original 1611 KJV Bible, it was fully understood that it was the collection of apocryphal aka false books placed in the center of the Bible between the old and new testaments, as completely separate.

Enoch is very seductive. It almost reads like something from the Cthulhu mythos. The Word of God just simply does not read that way. The Bible is many things. It is joyous, heartbreaking, fascinating, inspiring. "Fun" however is not a word I would attach to the scriptures. The Holy Bible is not a thriller. By definition apocrypha means the true authors are unknown and are not inspired writings.

There is a LOT of information on how decisions at nicea were made you have not bothered to research. Most people criticizing this never take the time as it would blow their beliefs about "secrets" out of the water.
95% of the new testament can be reconstructed from engravings found on 1st century archeological items. Not one of the passages from the "lost gospels" the council threw out can be verified this way. They are 3rd century gnostic creations.
I think the book of enoch exist but I do not think its the version that we have today Jude 1:14 confirms Enoch wrote something -- and I think the parts of enoch are more than likely the real book but I think a lot of it has been lost and changed

God Bless you all. Just like to enter the debate and determine what brought most of you to your conclusions. I've only just begun Enoch and it seems like you're misinterpreting it. i may be wrong but it seems that Enoch is only recounting the events of his time which was pre-flood. He doesn't seem to glorify the fallen angels. it actually seems the opposite. He tells of their descent which was their sin and how they spread sin and evil into God's world by laying w/ women and spreading evil.

I've never heard of a Book of Enoch. I'd heard of a few "lost gospels" (the Gospel of Thomas, the Gospel of Judas, etc), but I regard them as rubbish. The sixty-six books in the traditional translations are what I recognize as truth.

Antediluvian script, of there is much carved on rocks etc. is not known to modern man. Languages were confounded after the flood, so no man today speaks or can write the antediluvian language. So even if Enoch had written this book, he could not have written it in Hebrew or any modern language! We do not know the pre-flood language, Enoch could not have known modern languages, therefore this book could not have been written by Enoch!

Just a couple of points you may wish to consider. Enoch was an anti-deluvian man so he lived and was taken before the flood.Before the flood there was no Persia or Grecia. In the book of Daniel, Gabriel is telling Daniel about an empire about to go down and another empire about to come to power. Also that these empires are of the enemy. This passage is akin to prophecy and not history. The apocrypha is ultimately the creation of a Roman emperor.

@brandonmartin91 The Geneva Bible, unlike all "modern translations" used at least many of the same autographs and libraries. This is a good thing; it's closer to the KJV. Modern translations aren't even translated from the same Bible.
There are some MYTHS floating around about the Puritans preferring the Geneva Bible you should be aware of though.
The Puritans were the people who REQUESTED the KJV in the first place so these rumors are just out of complete ignorance.

The word they chose to describe these books is 'apocrypha' which means, by definition, "books whose authors are not known; whose authenticity, as inspired writings, is not admitted, and which are therefore not considered a part of the sacred canon of the scripture..."

I'm not saying Enoch was *bad* but the book is not authentic. He didn't write it; it's not Scripture; stay away from it; probably written by fallen angels themselves.
If there is anything in it quoted from the real Bible, don't marvel. It's no miracle. Anyone could quote the Bible in their book deceptively. Satan quoted Scripture to Jesus. Big deal. By the way, do not quote that book on my comments please. Thank you.

@vudumojo Satan quoted twisted scripture to Jesus Christ, he did not quote true scripture and in this lies the deception. Everything that old serpent called the devil, quoted was a twisting of The Word. I'm sure you know this, but just wanted to clarify your statement. If you read Mt. 4 and the temptation, then go back to the Old Testament you will see how Satan changes The Word ever so slightly. Unfortunately, this happens daily in our churches and new versions. Keep up the good work brother.

I agree fully, the new versions/perversions are Satan's versions.
KJV all the way. I wish newer English versions *could* be created, but all of those libraries have been broken up in the 1800s. If anyone says there's a new version, they are deceived because they are from different manuscripts and therefore different Bibles.

@vudumojo Agreed 100%! The vatincainus and sinaiticus lines of mans. are Satan's version of twisted texts. He used gnostics to produce these texts just like he used Mohamud to produce the unholy koran. This is not a surprise to discerning Christians who know the prophecies concerning the last days, the falling away, the strong delusion, esp. Rom 1. It describes the belief in evolution, rampant sodomy, new age and todays cultural beliefs to a tee. I thank God for His Holiness and His Blood.

@vudumojo... I've never even heard of this book until today. But the Bible tells us to beware of added books so I'm not going to study it. I don't understand how Christians could see warnings from God and then disregard them only to follow false teachings anyway. That stuns me.

@hyperqube714 Correction, I am no way saying 1 Enoch is anything but a false book. Apocrypha by definition means false so when it was included in the original 1611 KJV Bible, it was fully understood that it was the collection of apocryphal aka false books placed in the center of the Bible between the old and new testaments, as completely separate.
But make no mistake about it my friend, they were included, but you're right about one thing, they were received as authentic by the Catholics only.

Whn I first was saved by God's grace I started reading and talking about the book of Enoch. It seems to "fill in the blanks" of Gen6 & Jude, but there is NOT ONE SINGLE BIBLE VERSE that refers to a book written by Enoch.Holy Spirit delt w/me on ths subject and made me realize tht there's nothing inspired about ths book. 2Tim3:16 dsn't say "all scripture plus the book of Enoch is given by inspiration of God..." The only book on the planet that is the inspired Word of God is the Bible; KJV. Amen.

Enoch is very seductive. It almost reads like something from the Cthulhu mythos. The Word of God just simply does not read that way. The Bible is many things. It is joyous, heartbreaking, fascinating, inspiring. "Fun" however is not a word I would attach to the scriptures. The Holy Bible is not a thriller. The Book of Enoch is a little *too* interesting, which has always concerned me.

It SEEMS to *fill in the blanks* but it fills them in with misinformation, almost as if fallen angels themselves, or demons through possessing people, inspired it, directed by the devil himself.

Oral tradition is perfectly acceptable, and IF there was a book it has never been proven that this so-called book of Enoch 1 is authentic.

By definition apocrypha means the true authors are unknown and are not inspired writings.
The apocrypha was included in the original KJV Bible AS the apocryphal writings, yes, meaning they are not part of Scripture

There is a LOT of information on how decisions at nicea were made you have not bothered to research. Most people criticizing this never take the time as it would blow their beliefs about "secrets" out of the water.
95% of the new testament can be reconstructed from engravings found on 1st century archeological items. Not one of the passages from the "lost gospels" the council threw out can be verified this way. They are 3rd century gnostic creations.

I think the book of enoch exist but I do not think its the version that we have today Jude 1:14 confirms Enoch wrote something -- and I think the parts of enoch are more than likely the real book but I think a lot of it has been lost and changed

The English translator of the book of Enoch, Richared Laurence states in his introduction " I confess to my own mind, that this book was written but a few years at MOST before the beginning of the Christian era".
This means it was either written a few years before or AFTER the beginning of Christianity.
The book of Enoch not only contains error but contains passages are in direct opposite to the word of God. BEWARE PEOPLE OF THE BOOK OF ENOCH!
