Women were so beautiful back then and much more individual looking than the starlets of today are. The emphasis seemed to be on looking classy rather than trashy. It's sad that we now live in a world that leaves nothing to the imagination. Sex is so much sexier when it's implied rather than blatant.
@CDU916 I agree with what you said, except for the "individual looking" part. I watch tons of movies from the '40s, and I have to see an actress in at least five movies before I can tell her apart from all the other glamorous blondes. Janis Carter, Evelyn Ankers, Martha Vickers, Audrey Long, Constance Dowling, Leslie Brooks, Brenda Joyce, Lynn Merrick are all lovely ladies, but I still can't tell one from the other sometimes.
She was lovely.....no matter what.
