  • This is almost pretty funny

  • Pat Harrington Jr. long before Schneider..

  • Remember the 'little black things' on the S. Allen Tonight Show? and the ferndocks?

  • It's "kooky," jrbaz.

  • Sometimes they would play objects that weren't musical instruments. Steve would interview them beforehand, and they would say things like, "I play water" or "I play meat."

  • They opened with Charlie Parker's Confirmation, I think.

  • incredible! - its "kinda" like the old MAD Magazine come to life - what a time to be alive

  • What a genius...His silly face and antics used to delight me wheb, as a teen, I'd stay up till the wee hours to watch.

  • I wish posters would put what year this is from in the title. Anyone know?

  • Poston was the best.

  • love how Louis Nye dances! Oh, this is great! Thanks for sharing ;)

  • Can someone please upload the legendary Steve Allen laughing blooper?

  • Oh Yes, PLEASE...someone please upload that great laughing segment where Steve is a playing a reporter and he says something that really tickles his funny bone and then he just can't stop laughing...

  • ...that's Pat Harrington as the cookie nut-job portraying that wanna-be Lawrence Welk "don't touch me, are you union" fella...now isn't that the funniest get-up since that hard-working father he was on "One Day At A Time" TV show of the late 1970's ??

  • I've read, I think it was in one of Mr. Allen's books, that in that classic bit, Allen caught a glimpse of himself in the monitor, and found the sight of his straight hair hanging down around his face under his hat a hoot. It struck, as you say, his funnybone.

  • I like how Tom Poston falls off the little stage. Hilarious.

  • Louie Nye's 'instrument' was always something like water, or meat, or whatever. :>)

Sid Caesar's 'Progress Hornsby' was another hilarious bit. A hipster, jive talkin' jazz musician, Hornby's major 'opus' was the "National Anthem of the Dark Side of the Moon". :>)

  • Thanks for posting the description of the band members -- I would not have figured it out without it, even though I know all the actors.

  • THE WEIRDO BEATNIKS INVADE THE STEVE ALLEN SHOW !!!

great stuff. thanks for posting this.

  • LOL

  • FUNNY STUFF

  • Thank you for posting this! Poston was the best.

  • Rest in peace, Tom....you will be missed by so so many.

Thank you for the laughs, over all the years...
