The only reason I'm watching this is because I feel sorry that gays are beaten because of who they are, I mean I'm not up for them, but feel sorry. The reason is because people at my school used to think I was gay and they avoided me and picked on me, at least I'm pretty young cause if they thought I was gay in high school, I'm sure something real bad would happen. And they all thought I was gay just because I was quiet, but everyone knows I'm not know, and I'm not mad at them.

I thought this was a powerful, insightful, exceptional film. I am a straight woman and I have been sexually assaulted. The eating of the dirt made me cringe and cry! I can see why people want to insist that it is simply a "gay themed film" however I think it is important for all of us to understand how our actions or lack of action can damage someone . The fact that the jock did not help him will probably haunt both of them forever. Brilliant.

The one who played Brad did an excellent job acting. His facial expressions and the way he showed fear, anger, shame, love braveness, and bitterness all at once was amazing. As far as the story... nothing new: gay bashing, str8 guy acts out his masked gay feelings, shame, guilt....That being said, the way this plot is carried out and the way it is filmed is artistic and unique.... GREAT JOB.

Any movie that is about straight romance is a heterosexual themed movie. When an action/comedy/thriller where a gay character is present, we don't use these terms because its not about how the character feels sexually.

@udahagin I think the point of the split screen is to show the contrast between the two of them. Brad and Andy are coming from two different places and see things completely different. The split screen kind of represents their split views and shows that even though they're close together right now, they're actually so far apart.
