Yes there are divisions in the ummah..but the actions to belittle them is causing a further polarisation..they are ignorant and stubborn with their bidahs and some of them with their notion of hazir nazir. Asking the dead for help..etc etc.. You see these issues need to be erased by patience and beautiful preaching..not abusing them...Look at the first 13 years of the prophet saws and the patience they had to endure against the mushiks. Its all about quran and sunnah and how the salaf took it.

The first, the Prophet (Sallalaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) and his Sahaabah (companions). The second, the Taabi'een (the followers of the companions). The third, the Tabaa'at-Taabi'een (the followers of the followers of the companions).

Generally, this term refers to all those pious predecessors who followed the way of the Salaf and who have preceded us in time. This is the true manhaj of Ahl as-Sunnah wa al-Jamaa'ah.

@az101. you are right, however what i am saying is that most barelvis are not educated and their intentions are honourable, same with tablighis and deobandhis. Also they have some people brainwashing them against so called wahhabiism. The differences that exist among us groups are trivial, they can be overcome by talking, doing islah, being wise, reasoning, logic etc..not hating them, because theres always a minority of bad people in every group and a fringe fanatic element that polarise.

like with all groups and sects my brother, there are uneducated people to whom if you were to ask a defifintion of shirk, they wouldnt be able to. they would simply reply back..shirk is assosiating patrners with Allah (swt). The Hadith about the slave girl stating Allah "physically" being above the sky, and the prophet saws saying she has indeed believed is clear.. im a muslim.. simple.. i do not support al qaida or OBL who ever they are nor do i support some of these intolerant salafis but i am a fan of peace tv and all scholars on it.

What or Who is Salaf

The manhaj (methodology) of the Salaf is to adhere to the Qur'aan and the authentic Sunnah as understood by the Salaf as-Saalih. The word Salaf is a shortened version of the word 'Salaf as-Saalih', which means the 'Righteous Predecessors'

It refers specifically to the first three generations of Islaam in which the Prophet Muhammad (Sallalaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) described as being the best generations of Muslims.

Every innovation in the religion. Such that if somebody tries to add, subtract or change something in Islam, this is misguidance.

The reason for this is that if you support innovation in Islam, you are implying Muhammad sallalahu alayhi wassalam did convey the whole message or he made a mistake, but in the Quran it says, today I have perfected your religion (something along those lines).

Brelvi ideology is full of innovations, whilst salafi means to follow the salaf, first 3 generati
